Disagree completely. Fort ON, Fort OFF, shotgun blast, carnage, heavy melee. Shotgun blast, heavy melee. Blood Rage active, carnage, heavy melee.
Carnage is an excellent opener for combos that temporarily stun faster moving enemies so you can line up the Krogan charge.

I like my Krogan with Sniper Rifles. Carnage + Headshot + Carnage is a brutal damage combo on Gold and has amazing range. Anything that gets close takes Carnage + Fort Off + Hip Shot + Heavy Melee.

Because it does extra damage to bosses, doing health damage is useless. Carnage is a good help on Gold against boss enemies. Picking extra damage on it is actually the dumb thing to do.

Caranage>grenades for damage on gold. Only way grenades even comes close to the damage of carnage over the course of the match is if you are sitting on the ammo box the whole match, but that isnt always an option.

Even then you only get 1 grenade every 30 seconds or so compared to if your spamming carnage every 3 - 5 seconds.

Almost everyone in this thread might be wrong if carnage had (and I believe it does) % modifiers against shields / armor to output damage (and health does not really matter) that are close to 0.5 / 1.5
Being +50% to overall damage an additive modifier and +65% to armor multiplicative, I'd say pick the latter one.
