Who would have won during the post Thessia argument.

Liara can spam biotics like crazy and has better abilities, faster recharge. Not to mention Singularity and Stasis.

Javink has much more damage and Dark Channel and slam.


My money in on Liara who is probally the third strongest Biotic below Samara and Adept/Vanguard Shepard.

I haven't tried Javik yet. I just look at Liara's list, see Warp and Singularity and choose her every time.

Whats more is if you specialize Liara's passive to singularity recharge. Singularity only take 2.seconds to recharge!

Liara, nothing is more satisfying than having her throw singularity and then finishing with warp!

Liara excels at controlling and setting up others, especially other biotics.
I think javik does the highest dps of any henchman. His grenade with maxed out power damage is sickening. Widow-esk damage is done with those things. For my vanguard I prefer liara but bring both along is ALWAYS a good idea

Liara with stasis bubble in a narrow hallway is beatuitful for a vanguard. And her singularity that increase the arduous is amazing for control to

Since I was the one loaded with guns like an Elcor, Liara's role was to support me by crowd control and reaching where my bullets couldn't get. Garrus(Overload)/Vega were my secondary choice.

Liara, though I haven't tried Javik yet, but Liara has some insane cool downs and can spam singularity like crazy.

I would love to find out, but Bioware didn't want me to have Javik in my game unless I payed more for my game. I obviously refused.

Javik "unique" power is pretty damn useful if you have throw or something similar.
You can make chains of biotic explosions because his power transfers to the next enemy once the first one is dead.

liara is awesome for crowd control. and quick biotic bombs. Her recharge rate is insane, for singularity anyway. You don't even have to build her for a quick singularities..they will be fairly fast anyway.

However for armoured targets...and they are heavily armoured...

Javik's dark channel. The constant duration of damage with the ability to cause biotic explosions (i think more then one) can be the best move in the game against the harder enemies.

..i charge into 'dark channelled' banshee's and brutes with my vanguard and everything explodes. they are not standing for very long. And then the dark channel transfers to the next target...

If you don't have the weapons/ammo and build to deal with banshee's/brutes then javik is a godsend. Otherwise Liara is mighty fun to use. a quick stasis on engineer's, or quick singularity before enemies spread out is useful.

you might be able to spec liara for power, and armour damaging and weakening warp at the expense of singularity though.

As a vanguard I take Dark Channel as my bonus (so I don't need Javik on the squad.. what jack***.) Open with DC, then hunt it through all the enemies with charge. Since it doesn't fade when exploded it's explosion after explosion after explosion. Beautiful

OT: Liara wins. The ability to CC-lock wins over damage at all times.

Throw Dark Channel at one guy, have everyone focus fire on him, watch him die in seconds as DC jumps to the next guy, rinse, repeat. Very fun.

Then again, singularity is awesome too (especially against those $@£?ing guardians), and Liara has Warp, which is very effective against armor.

So, um, in conclusion: they're both pretty danged useful.

Javik is more powerful and his slam is ridiculous.  Add his prothean gun and he is a great squadmate.

My first shep was an Adept.  Taking Javik AND Liara is a great combination.  Biotic explosions all over the place....

People, please. Liara, Javik and AdeptShep are the galactic A-Team.
So they better not kill eachother....ok, maybe Liara might pull a stasis on Javik, to 'calm' him down.

In game I would say they both have thier strong poinst: Liara plays the role of crowd control, and Javik plays the role of biotic DPS.
