The game is quite playable with the current patch, just missing a couple set items.
Yeah and you can drive a car with only three wheels to. But i paid for a game that is supposed to function as intended. It doesnt function as intended.
What your saying is "you can play pacman with no ghost" Yeah... you sure can but whats the point if its not how it was designed to be played.

The game has a couple of bugs, it is not broken. You can play the game from start to finish and not notice anything wrong unless you're actually looking for bugs. If the game was a car it would be a Ferrari with a loose thread in the carpet.
Really? So you have never had to save and exit the game for various reasons? Such as the memory leak, or the ability to not leave a area? How about the fact that the mechanics are not working as intended? Such as bows and daggers? Or how about game crashes? If you dont notice any of these things then you are lucky.
And also if you are lucky enough to not have any of these things not happen to you (in which case im going to call BS because there is no way to avoid the dagger archery problem unless you use a UNofficial patch), then I guess I or anyone else should just shut up because its not effecting you.
Sounds like your trolling to me. Arguing for the sake of argument.
Why dont you stay off the Tech Support forum if you dont have a problem with the game and need no tech support.

Well, there are obvious bugs. Take for example Oghren 's helmet displaying when you talk to him about his personal quest. Anytime he brings it up or talks to while after it, the game forgets to flag that as a conversation moment and thus I was staring at a helmet with eyes. Bugs like that scream at you and are difficult to avoid. Then there's ones such as exclamation points appearing on people when there is no quest to turn in.
! icons signify a point/person of interest not a return quest conversation. For that, refer to the two upside-down triangle icon.
People get nitpicky when they complain about bugs in my opinion. So his helmet doesn't come off for one convo, big deal. The only bug that pisses me off personally is the long load screen memory leak after x minutes.

Cant wait for patch 1.02. This game is FANTASTIC (in my opinion the best singleplayer RPG ever), but almost unplayable with all the lagging and neverending loadingtimes (PC). This game is more buggy than Football Manager!
Yesterday I had the worst experience so far; (SPOILER START:)
After getting the ashes to save Eamon:
1) Click on Castle at the map (5 sec)
2) Loadingscreen (3 minuttes)
3) Walk to Castle door (30 sec)
4) Loadingscreen (5 minuttes)
5) Walk to questgiver (30 sec)
6) Loadingscreen (5 minuttes)
7) Eamon wakes (30 sec)
8) Loadingscreen (5 minuttes)
9) Eamon thank me and tells about his plans (3 minuttes)
10) Loadingscreen (5 minuttes)
11) Quit game.
This is worse than in the commodore64-days!
Thank you for making this masterpiece, but PLEASE make a patch asap=)

I didn't know about the dex problem till I read about it on this forum, other than that I haven't noticed any bugs (or the memory leak - my loading times don't seem to be any longer after playing for hours). Call BS if you want.

Sounds like your perfectly satisfied with your current game. Why would you need a patch?

Stating my lack of problems with this game isn't trolling. I'm just giving my opinion that this game isn't broken and can be played from start to finish without the next patch. I want to get the patch so it fixes the bugs I know are in this game. Just because I haven't come across them yet doesn't mean I believe they aren't there.
I can post my dxdiag if you want. It might help you figure out what's causing problems for you.

Posting your dxdiag wont help the general population with everything thats wrong with the game considering its not the machines that are having the problems, its the game. But it is much appriciated.
The fact of the matter is there are ALOT of problems with this game. Not just missing a couple set items, Just scroll down the tech support forum and read. Most of the stuff has work arounds, but i didnt buy a game so that i could constantly find work around problems. I just want to play the thing as it was intended to be played.

Right, which only makes the point worse because I come across exclamation marks on people that refuse to talk to me. Chanter Rosamund is one. And normally, side quest vendors like the Chantry, the Irregulars, and the Magi group only have exclamation points on them. Anyone who inaccurately has one I don't consider a minor bug. But forgive me if I don't subscribe to what you consider a big deal.

I understand that modern games are released as betas and get patched over the next six months but this is almost as bad as Empire:Total War...
Pretty please, with sugar on top... fix the f*#*($* game.

I don't get the memory leak. I'm curious as to why, however. What specific hardware configuration is causing people to get this and others not to?
It just depends on your system. You might be one of the lucky few who are going to uneffected by the various problems. Im not saying Bioware is a horrible company like alot of others are saying. And i know they are working on the problem. I just want them to hurry lol. Its almost impossible to write/code a complex game for PC and have no errors because there are so many different kinds of system setups.
Your just one of the lucky ones.

Have not noticed a memory leak at all.
I did not have a problem with bows or daggers. I have seen claims of problems with bows and daggers and in my testing both work fine.
Both are properly employed in light armors and each hits for significant damage. My longbow shots hitting targets on a regular old shot for 63-86 damage with no bow abilities used.
My daggers hit twice a second for 30-40 damage ..compared to the once a second hit for 1hand swords of 60ish and the 2handers 60-80.. so again not a problem..
The game has not once crashed for me.
The only problem I have had to date was starting the other day and it telling me I needed to log in to utilize content and I was logged in.. said content didn't disappear for me so *shrug*...
