This thread won't die (and it should NOT) as long as they wont release that freaking long due patch!

So you want them to rush a patch, just so it can cause more problems then it solves?

Rush patch? Let's face it, not all bugs are game breaking at the moment, though fixing them will make game more enjoyable, since people won't have to use third-party hacks or whatever to overcome problems that were present in actual 1.0 release and that weren't fixed in the next two patches, which actually broke some things for people.

If BioWare has a fix for memory leak people are reporting, why not release it when it's ready and not wait a week or two more to fix other bugs? I'm one of the few people in this forum who have experienced maybe just 2-3 bugs that are constantly reported by others and somehow I was lucky enough and those bugs didn't break game for me, while they did for others, so I hardly can blame EA/BW for being profit ****s. Still my patience has its limits and I do remember that patch was almost ready two weeks ago, before we saw the classic response that the patch will be released when it's done and not on a specific date. Sure we might see it just before the new DLC is released or the same day DLC goes live, but that will just add insult to injury, since I know there are people out there who are pissed off so much with original game, that they have no interest in DLC anymore, due to bugs that made it impossible for them to progress beyond certain zone/point in game. And even though those problems might not be software related, but just weird hardware issues, people will hardly admit that their PC isn't stable and try to fix that on their own. They expect BW to release patch that will fix those problems for them, even if that requires to use hacks for certain hardware/software combination.

Apart from the original game bugs there are certain DLC bugs present (not talking about activation issues) and to be honest I'm not sure if they are actually DLC related or have something to do with bugs in the original game engine.

Also there are plenty of small annoyances such as dagger/bow damage, low resolution textures, pickpocketing cooldown, abilities being disabled out of combat without notice, items not spawning in certain containers, no addon uninstaller etc. which aren't game breaking for most part, but which make people install third-party fixes for those problems. It's great that there is already a certain community around the game that does release certain fixes and tweaks for game, but I would still prefer official fixes, if they were available from BW.

I will leave my two cents here because I like the sound of my own voice (wait...) but I won't read through this whole thread because it is full of HATE!!! I am glad that there are people without any problems but what's wrong with them essing on people that have them?! Yeah, I played through this broken game and kinda had a good time but I had to deal with stuff like turning the texture down then unclothing my characters in some areas because it would BSOD otherwise. There are areas where I am afraid of looking up because the game would crash every time I looked at the sky. Or the Memory leak. Or how the dialogue got reset after patching. And my PC certainly isn't the problem. It exceeds everything everywhere in every area. The game is broken and the mass amount of threads in the technical support section prove that. Now I'm having the same experience all over with The Saboteur, another EA game. People are angry and frustrated, so let them vent!!

Oh and how can't I expect a bugless game? I get that modern games are effing complex but I have just played Assassin's Creed 2 which is a big open-world game with no bugs at all. Ok, I played it on a console but the Xbox version of DOA doesn't seem to good either. I canceled my preorder of Mass Effect 2 because there's no way I can trust Bioware or EA now after this experience. I will wait til some reviews are out and I can be sure to play that game fine.

Is it REALLY rushing weeks after the launch? Seriously?

The game is indeed buggy, and there are numerous game ending bugs I have come across unfortunately.

One of the most glaring was in the orphanage in the Alienage. After defeating the demon during my first encounter with it, both doors were locked, couldn't be picked, and remained locked no matter what I tried. I tried talking to the templar to no avail. In the end I had to reload from an older save and that fixed it when I re-entered

I also found the Fade during the circle of Magi quest buggy, during my first play through as a mage. Oddly enough my second character didn't have that problem.

I have also come across the Shale bug, which originally resulted in me losing over 6 hours play time. I had to revert to an older save where I could actually talk to Shale. While not game ending, it does break certain aspects of the game.

I still very much enjoyed the story. Hopefully all these bugs will be dealt with. In the end I just got into the habit of saving often, as I would never know if the Shale bug would happen again, or I'd run into some other game ending bug.

All of my saves were corrupted by going to the smith to have armor forged. I'm not starting a new game again, (3rd time), so until Patch 1.02 comes out, I'm playing Mass Effect. It'd be nice if patch 1.02 came some day soon.

Relax agentjake4.

I was just being facetious. Whenever someone complains about the sorry state the PC version of this game is in, the comeback is invariably some variant of: "Daikatana had much longer loading times... Shaq Fu had over 167 bugs..." and "It's just a small vocal minority that don't know how to run their computers that are complaining. Nothing to see here. Be sure to buy this fine game and all the DLC that's available."

There should never be more programmers working on DLC than on a patch when a game has critical flaws. Reiciello is absolutely correct. Inb4: "Critical? Why I remember in Postal 2 when you couldn't even..."

An interesting feature you should seriously consider applying is the "in game conversation" pause... not only in dragon age but in mass effect 2 too. Like in "the wicher", let's say the phone ring and your in the middle of a convo... you loose it and then you have to load game (lucky only if you save often), and truth be told the game has some very big dialogue that you don't wanna miss if you'd like to understand the plot!!!!

Interesting read.

My Vista Business machine randomly crashes out every few minutes in combat so I thought I'd pop on and see if there were any ideas on here.

Mostly all that I find is people whining and ****ing at each other (with some notable and happy exceptions)

Geforce 8800 ultra with QC 2.4 and 8Gb RAM and creative X-fi card. Resolution doesn't affect the crash rate at all.

All drivers up to date along with DX10.

Any suggestions? It's crashing back to the screen. Incidentally, since the game costs around £25, which is less than the price of a night out at the pub, I'm not whining about refunds, as apart from these crashes I think it's a marvellously thought out game that will work out at a few pence per hour's entertainment.

That Loatek guy - - glad he left, making out that anyone with a different opinion to him was broken really is a sad reflection on the guy's attitude to life eh?

Sorry mate, it's not the American/Canadian way. It's a mispelling of the the word loser.

Isn't there a program called america's biggest loser?
