I'm no power gamer and only recently got all gold weapons maxed out. Been getting nothing but character cards for a week already and I must agree that this is pretty pointless.
Please. No more useless character cards when we've maxed out all appearance unlocks. Thanks.

I bought 4 specter packs and 1 premium specter pack hoping that out of all of them I'd just get 1 geth, instead I got 2 strikers (Which in my opinion sucks) a krogan, and a talon (Which oddly enough I like)
Now I know bioware wants the game's multiplayer to have longevity but come on, this is stupid.
Just let us buy what we want, when we want it- I wouldn't even be upset if you made it micro-transaction only.

You should just have a general exp pack that grants experience to all classes (with reduced rate of appearance, and no show if all the classes are at 20). There's no need for character cards you've already maxed out.Painis Cupcake wrote...
Character training cards still give experience for that class, regardless if chosen character has max appearance. The cards should not be given if both the character has max appearance unlocks and the class is already level 20.
Oh, and agree.

Fully support this. Spent half a mil in the last day hoping to get a few of the new characters and I get Human Vanguard, Asari Adept (x3 times), Drell Adept, Quarian Engineer (all 20 & full appearance unlocked) and a bunch of worthless SMGs I'll never use.
Frankly, between this and the bs with PS3 player exclusion from events, my desire to participate in MP is fading rapidly and considering the MP was the only thing keeping me from returning the game to Amazon after the god awful SP ending fiasco I'm more than a little disappointed in Bioware right now.

Yes! Please lock character cards after full appearance is unlocked. Replace with consumables/equipment! I don't mind the N7 weapons staying ultra-rare, gives me something to work towards, but every time I get double (insert class/race here) cards in a premium pack I spent 40-60 minutes playing gold (NOT FB:W!) to earn, I wanna scream!
Weapons don't keep appearing after full upgrade, why should characters?

I have all characters including the new ones but i still don't have a Drell Vangaurd. Seems Legit...

Just as you shouldn't get weapon upgrades after X, you should not get character cards when the chars are fully unlocked.

Or just give us a character bonuses like 5% shields/ damage etc after the appearance customization has been fully unlocked.

The random system is terribad enough as is due to the exceedingly high number of weapons, characters and upgrades to unlock, the extortionate price of packs and even worse when meaningless repeats are factored in.
Trying to retain interest in multiplayer is the worst excuse ever, what, retain our interest by forcing us to play for months without the class/weapons we want to use? Seldom that not getting the stuff you want within a reasonable time frame is probably more likely to put players off than unlocking stuff too fast or something.
If consistent unlocks are needed to keep the playerbase entertained with the multiplayer, then something is wrong with the core gameplay if that alone is not interesting enough to warrant sticking around.

Agreed. Character cards should stop appearing once you've got all the appearance unlocks. I really want to get the characters I don't have yet instead of repetitions I gain absolutely nothing from. Or, if not eliminate them completely, at least let them give us SOMETHING. XP is not stockable after level 20 (so on the highest level and if you've got all the appearances it's like you gained nothing at all with getting that card), and is easy to earn, so some % damage or armor bonus would be great, instead of nothing.

sounds pretty stupid that you agree on ONE thing wrong with this system when THE whole lottery credit system is a SCAM, paying for health & ammo? Obvious most of you are Naive to the whole MP world.. but at least your on the right track..

If they insist on a random loot system, at the very least fix the character card issue. Earning credits for hours just to get the same character cards you already have maxed out Is getting irritating.

The time spent earning credits should be rewarded, which the current system fails to do most of the time. I disagree with the random system in the first place, but I respect their decision to use it to extend the life of the multiplayer mode.
They should split the current packs into
- Weapon Packs
- Character Packs
- Equipment & Mod Packs
That way people get at least the same type of item they were looking for.
I also agree with ExecutorBG (quoted in the first post). A certain N7 rating should allow you to buy/upgrade specific weapons.

I personally like the randomized unlock system, but I can see the flaws of unlocking the same things all the time.
Regardless, I'd openly welcome a new system.

To get a character card when you have every custom feature for the character class and have their level at 20 is frustrating.

Agreed. Hasn't been a huge problem for me, as I haven't maxed that much, but it will be.
I think the system should, when giving you something of a certain rarity, choose from a pool of what you don't have at that rarity. If you have all the appearances for, let's say AA, and it chooses that, it should randomly select a rare weapon/class/mod. If you have everything except ultra-rares maxed, then it should give you a higher chance to get them, and replace the character cards with equipment.
