agreed 100%, i spent 2.4 mill on Spectre packs and admittedly i did get a Talon III and Saber VII but so many character cards. I've gotten into the habit of promoting all my lvl 20 classes then spending a heap of credits so the cards will be of some use. I prefer to keep some lvl 20 classes though. so sign me up.

I like the idea of a platinum pack or N7 pack, another difficulty above gold called platinum would be pretty good as well.

Some great ideas in the thread [N7 level opening up purchase options is one of them...I'm 620+ and still have yet to get the Black Widow in a Spectre/Premium pack. If I got to a certain point and it [or an N7 weapon unlock in general] was available...I don't even care if it's a couple 100 thousand credits...It'd be worth working up to and getting it].

It may not change at all, and I'll live with the random unlocks. It'd just be nice to have something other than the Wraith IV and Talon III. If that's the case, Premium Spectre pack as a permanent addition (as also suggested on the previous page) would be something I could live with...and just continue promoting characters so the character cards mean something. If they don't add/change anything else, that could work somewhat (obviously won't change the amount of character cards and some still won't be happy, but it's something).

I agree with the OP, I'm sick of getting Drell Vanguards and Drell Adepts when I already have all of the appearance options unlocked for both characters. Bioware should make it so that when you unlock all of the appearance options for a character, you no longer receive cards for that character.

Edit: And I agree with Phantom, having Premium Spectre packs become permanent would be great.

Either that or you can OPT out of getting them, that would be nice.

Character training cards still give experience for that class, regardless if chosen character has max appearance. The cards should not be given if both the character has max appearance unlocks and the class is already level 20.

This. Exactly this. To the letter!

As for what to give instead of character cards. SPs/PSPs have these "guaranteed rare or better" slots. If character cards are eventually ruled out (all classes at 20, all appearance settings unlocked), and all rare weapons are at level X, and all "rare" weapon mods are at level 5, and amount of respec cards present is capped (3), then the game will have _no_ rare (gold) cards to offer; thus "rare or better" restriction will force the game to put ultra-rare item into the slot. Which is not good - ultra-rares will become "just a rare requiring certain amount of grinding to get". Not good at all.

Thus, game just needs one more item implemented: "end game gold card". Rare item which will remain useful for all players, forever. Something like this:

"End-game" gold card: significant boost to weapon and power damage for one (next) mission. Some 20% would be ok, 30% would be excellent. And of course, in case of PSPs, if player gets two such cards at once, then bonuses should stack.

This, or something similar in concept - perhaps not +damage, but something unique like ability to become immune to instant-kill scripts for one mission, etc - would solve current problems with "no more good things from packs". As long as such "end-game gold card" is not implemented, people will keep complaining, to be unhappy, and game will keep to be flawed.

I don't know. Extra consumables would be better, I know a lot of people are running out of medgels and rockets.

Nope, can't make consumables as "end-game gold card": that's what consumable packs (when available) and recruit/uncommon packs are for.

Let me explain in detail. When you buy PSP pack, you only get 5 consumable items per 100k credits. around 4 different consumable types, this means you get 5 rockets and 5 medi-gels per every 400.000 credits spent, average. But when you buy recruit pack, you spend 5k credits and get 2 consumable items = 40 consumable items per 100k credits spent. That's 8 times more consumables per your buck! As for uncommon packs, - i mean ones sold for 30k, - you get 2 times less consumables than while buying recruit packs, _but_ you also get level 2 equipment - which is actually useful for gold, unlike level 1 equipment you get from recruit packs; because, you see, level 1 equipment is about 2 times weakier effect than level 2 equipment, while "most sexy" level 3 equipment is only 1.5 times more powerful than level 2 equipment.

So, in end-game terms, recruit packs are your "i need lots of consumables, NOW!" emergence option; and uncommon packs is your "i need both useable equipment and consumables" option. So that's already covered rather nice... It just doesn't says in-game, but in fact it's exactly as i described.

That's why end-game gold-card can't be about consumables or equipment. Alas... Perhaps level 3 equipment "all pieces" card, may be... Card which gives +1 to every level 3 equipment piece... I don't know if Bioware would be so generous though. But since it should be very easy to implement, may be they'll do it, huh? And it would actually be about as powerful as that +damage thing i proposed above: going from abundant supply of level 2 equipment to abundant supply of level 3 equipment would typically mean extra 10% damage from weapon rail, extra 10% damage from ammo, and a bit of extra weapon stability or higher shield from 3rd equipment slot (both results in few more percent of actual DPS in-game). Which means something about +25% damage indeed. So you see, it's about the same thing actually... Just in different form.

They obviously have the ability to remove character cards ala what they did with the power reset cards. But they choose not to, since that would remove a good proportion of available cards and therefore shorten the time before people unlock everything. Which really is the only thing keeping this game alive tbh.

Please vote in a poll regarding this issue. Changing Character Cards to work similarly to how Weapon Cards work fixes my only gripe with this game. Please comment in the forum post as well, to keep the poll alive. Thanks!

There called ultra rare weapons for a reason. If you just got them all at once after unlocking everything else they wouldnt be very ultra rare anymore.

Bioware made it so you receive character cards even though unlocked all appearance upgrades to give you extra xp to help level up your characters. Also to stop getting your ultra rare weapons at a rapid rate.

I obviously Agree... Image IPB

Stop giving me character card for my fully updated toon, especially when I have other toons that have only (more or less) the basic appearance...Image IPB

One day, Got 2 cards (one white and one gold) for 2 different Vanguard races (Spectre Pack) both fully updated... Image IPB
I still have a newly unlocked Krogan Vangard still basic, you know... Image IPB

Edit:
Also, Update the Store so when all my toons are all fully updated, at least I expect to receive more Medigels, Equipments and such, instead of more XPs...

minute xp that most of games players dont want constantly.

the idea is that instead of character cards we should get consumables if said character is level 20 and has all appearences unlocked.
