This is a totally silly idea I had, but I'd have loved to do it anyway!

When you first meet Sammie Traynor, she mentions that she had to leave her favorite toothbrush behind.
Then she informs you in guilty whisper mode that it costs 6000 credits!
To which Shepherd responds, you're on your own.

Which I find ironic, considering Shepherd has thousands of credits, even with my shockingly awful budgeting and spending sprees.

Considering all the money I was spending on weapons upgrades, I could have easily spared 6000 to get my favorite Data Specialist a new toothbrush!

And it would have made for an interesting Mission/Dialogue scene!

That damn thing costs 6000 credits. I have been saving every penny to buy a Paladin.
I don't even buy fuel, I get by on the destroyed remains you find scattered across the galaxy.

But you have to think about some of us, who have over seven million.
To the point that Gil Toss would be a valid attack to use in every fight.

Really, the best time for a Paladin is NG+, it's just not worth the investment in a new game.

Also, I'm surprised Sirta isn't selling the toothbrush.

 Because I didn't get to meet Garrus' dad and Sol (his sister).

And maybe because you can't have a date with Thane.

And probably because Jack romance consist of 8 lines.

And...

But honestly... toothbrush? O_O

And since Traynor isn't an important character I wouldn't want any DLC or extra content with her. I love Garrus and Javik, but I think all our squadmates should get more time with us. Especially those who are with for three (or two) games. But Traynor and Cortez? I don't understand why they just throw two new less important LIs with this whole bunch we already have.

Remember, I'm the guy who took Cerebrus' 2million credit spaceship and wanted to keep it for myself!
So I don't have any qualms about taking 6000 credits to get one of my new friends a replacement Toothbrush, no matter how expensive it is!
Heck, I'd buy one for all "chatty crew" and bill it as "eezo core upgrading"!
And I'd make sure to get one for myself too!

But I'm taking it as an example of more unrealized potential in ME3.
Pretty much every similar conversation in ME2 like this was a Loyalty Check of one kind or another.
I.E: I need item X, you're a better friend, we have a better chance of winning because now I'm motivated!

Personally, I like Traynor a lot, even if our relationship is platonic.
She's cute, funny and smart, who could not like that?

Character appeal has always been a random thing in Mass Effect, some people like others, some don't, it's all a matter of personal preference.
If you don't like the character, just don't talk to them, it's as simple as that!

But if someone chooses to explore a personal relationship with Chatty Cathy or Chatty Colin, the avenues should be there so you can choose to drive up them.


Also I'm interpretting this as one of the examples how one sided Shepherd is, they're not as complex as they were in ME2.

It's basically "I must build the Crucible, need to build Crucible, I'm angsting over dead people on Earth, having nightmares, now lets abuse Joker because he's trying to cheer me up!"

In ME2, my Shepherd wasn't this introspective, they're like, stuff happens, roll with it and party hats for everyone! 
Basically, my Shep is upbeat because it keeps the crew going when things get tough. You need a Hug after stuff hits the fan, she'll be there for you! And failing that, there's the epic motivational speeches!
And I could use options like that in ME2 all the time, keeping an even keel and motivating people no matter how bad it got.

And Sammiekins seems like she would be a good way to explore that.
The scene where she and Shepherd are playing chess is a good example of this kind of interaction, if you 
Paragon it!
I'd have loved more scenes and interactions like that. <3:wub:

Because everyone loves autodialogue, Right? I laughed at first and then I went, no, I want to buy my new Coms Specalist a toothbrush.

Could have been interesting if that was a pre-requisit for her being invited up to Shepard's Cabin.

I play Bro!Shepard BTW. I view her as a friend and nothing more. She's awesome and she's Lesbian and that's awesome! Yay. News friends of diverse backgrounds and ete.
