She worked so hard to provide a good performance yet failed so miserably and now Bioware fans are ripping her to shreds.
If an employee does a crappy job, I don't get pissed at the employee, I take the blame out on the idiot who hired him or her.
If anything we should be mad at Bioware for hiring such a talentless person to voice a worthless character.  We should stop being so mean to Jessica Chobot because even though she sucks, she still probably gave it her all.

I think it is her affiliation with IGN that is causing more hate than her... interesting performance.

She was boring in ME3. Also being with IGN isnt helping as they were quick to call most people here entitled brats.

She's ok. She has a tattoo of the triforce on her arm. She's cool with me just from her love of Zelda. I didn't hate her in ME3 either. Her character wasn't important enough to go all nerd rage over like some people do.

Only reason I had her was the war assets.  Even then it was barely worth it.

This.  And i feel a little bit sorry because she sucked... I mean, really, was just awful and her character contributed nothing to the game.  But then she got paid for it.  But also nobody at Bioware told her?

It'd be like if Lindsey Lohan got paid $50k by Bioware to appear in ME3.  Would she be awful at it?  Maybe.  Would the fans be irate at her?  Of course!

But I wouldn't blame her personally; she needed the money for her coke habits and bail bonds.

She was eye candy, not very interesting but more is always better. She had no impact on the story really, sort of an easter egg.

I always checked in with here if she had anything to say, most of it was just short retelling of what just happend, but still. She is nothing to complain about at all, I would rather have her in the game than not in the game.

I'm personally just directing all my anger towards Diana Allers, if she wasn't so useless, then maybe Jessica Chobots wouldn't be getting as much grief as she been getting, I'm not actually bothered by the VA at all.

I didn't have a problem with her until IGN started bashing fans for disliking the ending. Then I started questioning conflict of interest. I kicked her off my ship after Moriarty's tirade.  IGN threw the first stone.

No, I'm not feeling sorry for her. If you take a job like that, you simply have to expect the criticism, no matter how hard it is. You can't take it, you're having the wrong job.

Allers was simple fanservice and as stated above, her being with IGN who called us "entitled brats" isn't helping.

She really was pretty useless, which is a shame since she is one of the first war assets you can pick up.  They could have done so much more with having a reporter on the Normandy. :/

I neither like nor dislike her.

I do however question her involvement in ME3, and the conflict of interests that causes with her employers.

She was badly rendered into the game. Seriously, she is a pretty woman and she looks hideous in Mass Effect 3. And she was happy with that?

She may be a great "journalist" (I hesitate to use the word to describe IGNorant employees) but she is a terrible voice actress.

Put that on top of the fact that Diana Allers is a boring do nothing, no body character that Shepard doesn't know and doesn't care about.
Well then you get the hate. Most folks would have MUCH preferred Emily Wong. Hell most of us woulda taken that annoying pain in the ass Kalisah bint Sinan al-Jilani before Diana Allers.

I don't feel sorry for her being criticized for her poor performance. Though Bioware deserves some of the blame for not checking up front to see if she could actually act. As they do the VA right at the end, there probably wasn't a lot they could do once they heard the takes, as redoing the VO would also require redoing the character model to not look like her.

What's that? It doesn't look like her now? I looked for some photos of her after seeing her in game - she looks much better in real life. So I do feel sorry for her if people get the idea that the in-game model is what she really looks like.

I feel sorry for her, she gets beat up pretty bad and none of the reasons are her fault. Its kinda a shame people start picking everything apart once they are upset.

I actually liked her character and thought Chobot did a good job with the VO.
The issue I have with her is that the character needed to be expanded.
The character just stood there and gave a few reports and there are three iterviews with Shepherd.
There is no real connection to the main storylie or other crew, which would have been great to see.

I don't really feel sorry for Jessica. She was paid for her time and efforts. Now lets just hope she doesn't get to be a VA ever again.

*shrugs* She raised her popularity among...well...among me at least...as I had never heard of her anyway before the controversy started...

But I don't feel that sorry because Allers annoyed my eyes (this face, this dress! this horror!)  and ears, and I would have preferred to take Emily Wong as news-reporter on the Normandy. She was kinda cool and sympathetic!

The character doesn't belong in the game. I guess it was their way of paying off IGN though.

Yeah, I'm sure that of she read your post with so many sweet words she would feel a lot better.
