I was prepared to defend her until that (not knowing anything about her beforehand anyway). If that's the sort of support they're getting I'm starting to feel sorry for people who like the ending.

No one is forced to do anything, why should I feel sorry for her ?
Her performance was bad, I'm sure she must have felt it at some point.
Personally if I did my job badly and I was fully aware of it I would either get better or I'd resign.

Why should I? I knew I recognized the voice and the face(somewhat) but it wasn't until after I finished the game that I found out Allers was a cameo(of sorts) from ign. The decision to have a cameo likeness from ign in ME3 was just completely ridiculous and the voice performance wasn't even good. Just, why? Chobot probably knew people would dislike the decision of having her in ME3. A sensible person would have because ign is, dare I say, one of the least respected game sites on the net today. Though I blame BioWare for making it happen.

I am probably not letting Allers onboard the Normandy a second time. She only contributed 5 points anyway if I remember correctly.

Yes, she's getting too much **** that she doesnt really deserve imo.

If you want to **** on Diana Allers, **** on the writing that she was given. Her character not fitting into the universe has nothing to do with her performance. Barring the highest caliber of the actors/actresses, your performance is more less constrained entirely by the material you're given to work with.

Most of the crap she's getting is because of her affiliation with IGN anyway, and the fact that Bioware's 3d rendering of her made her look like a botox monster from Jersey Shore.

I am sad to say I am one of the people who used Allers as a war asset. I didn't do it on my last two playthroughs, and after reading her blog, I'll never use her again. Screw that ****.

Kinda, yeah. For anyone who's done more than a cursory investigation of her character the vitriol she gets is really unnecessary. People cite her PSP licking photo as evidence of something but most actresses and models have nude images of themselves that they attach to their resumes when they apply for a job so I don't see why licking a PSP is suddenly the worst thing ever or indicative of a problem.

I used to listen to the Girlfight podcast on IGN (yeah, the women who did it HATED the name, you could hear in their voices when they said it) and Chobot seemed like a decent enough person that actually enjoyed gaming and Mass Effect.

I seriously think people give her flak she doesn't deserve because she's associated with IGN and Colin "I'm a biased moron" Moriarty, Greg "pin the tail on me" Miller, and several of the other really terrible "journalists" at that site.

She obviously knows nothing about voice acting but that is hardly her fault. I think it was a mistake from Bioware to agree cast her in the first place. I don't have a big problem with her character but that acting is pretty painful.

I'm not seeing a whole lot of reason for pity, here. Really, having a lot of nobodies on the Internet whine about you while people who previously had no idea who you are start typing your name into Google is just level-up music for an entertainment professional. It's not like us criticizing her performance is going to cost her her job, or convince BioWare to pull the character from the game.

At the end of the day, she's still getting paid to talk about video games on the internet, and she still got paid to be a VA in a BioWare game.

she's an utter imbecile. her only quality is that she plays games & also happens to be good looking. she has never expressed a single interesting view in her life & she is affiliated with arguably the worst thing to happen to video games in their short history - ign.

She didn't do anything wrong, but being on my ship, I expected her to do alot more then comment on recent events. Like mingling with the squad more would have been cool.

Her prescene felt more like a Promotion of some kind rather then a general new character aboard my ship. If I feel bad for anyone, its Bioware for having to succumb to stuff like this.

I feel bad for how a lot of people have been talking about her. No-one deserves some of the insults people have been flinging around... but creating and including Allers simply as a way to get Chobot into the game was still a really stupid idea. Why oh why did they kill Emily Wong I never got to give her that exclusive interview.
