I think it is her affiliation with IGN that is causing more hate than her... interesting performance.

She was chosen over established characters like Emily Wong (who could the same role) and Kal'Reegar.

I'm more angry at BioWare. That's all three ME games where they've hired at least one horrible VA for no apparent reason whatsoever.

ME1: Whoever voiced Benezia; the low point of VA in any game I've played.

ME2: Miranda was voiced by Microsoft Sa - I mean, Yvonne Strahovski. I didn't like you in Chuck and I don't like you in my video games.

ME3: Chobot. Boring.

I don't want big names in my video games, BioWare, I want quality VA.

While I don't care for Marina Sirtis I think she did a good job as Benezia.

Never got into Chuck but Miranda, voice acting and all, was one of my favorite characters in ME2.

Chobot could have had a lot better directing and a lot more done with the character

She worked so hard to provide a good performance yet failed so miserably and now Bioware fans are ripping her to shreds.
If an employee does a crappy job, I don't get pissed at the employee, I take the blame out on the idiot who hired him or her.
If anything we should be mad at Bioware for hiring such a talentless person to voice a worthless character.  We should stop being so mean to Jessica Chobot because even though she sucks, she still probably gave it her all.

She is not a voice actress, she has no business here. I don't know who's fault it is but that person dropped the ball pretty hard, Emily Wong should be aboard the normandy not her. I don't have anything against her, didn't even know who she was but as a voice actress she sure sucks big time.

Only useful for the War Assets and extra Reputation points. Otherwise, she was a pretty flat character.

I mean, Emily Wong or Kalisah Al-Jalani would've been better...and more interesting.

Ok, I retract my previous statement, and hope that she gets some hate mail. Saying the same crap that moriatry says without ending the game is pretty disgusting...

"and "NO" I haven't finished ME3 yet. " NO" I haven't sexed Diana Allers
(although I plan to) and "NO" I don't want to know anything more about

... What the hell is wrong with that woman.

Somehow, her use of the words "humungo" and "babsolutely" annoys me more than the fact that she's calling us entitled whiners when she hasn't even finished the game.

IGN is sad.

flat is one word I would not use to describe her character. Pointless, bland, and annoying sure. But flat? No :)

They paid her to be a stereotypical bimbo on a ship. Why should I feel sorry for this?

I actually thought she did an alright job.

The problem is that she was completely useless (well except for 5 EMS points wooo!) and was only there for promotional purposes. I guess some people call that artsy. I call it disgusting.  So no, I don't feel bad for her at all.

People need to stop taking it personally. Nowhere does it say BSN, Retake, or people who don't like the ending. Believe it or not, there are people out there who are taking this to a ridiculous level of entitlement.

But the whole world apparently revolves around us, so...

As for Chobot, I don't know.  She doesn't deserve crap for getting hired and put in the game.  That was BioWare's call.  The same goes for her written lines, animations, and role.  I can't feel sorry for her unless I can get a feel on what the negativity that probably has been directed her is like.  And judging by her time on G4 (never watched her on IGN and whatever she says/does on there is probably scripted to the letter like their past "news" pieces), I can say she couldn't give a **** about it.  She likes the games, she did her job, and she's moving on.  No need to care what a bunch of whiny nerfherders send her way when it isn't her problem.

The only issue that may be deserved was the sub-par voice acting itself, but for the most part it was decent enough.

The time they spent making her character, they could have made the ending or add another N7 mission or two.

I do feel sorry for her. She's getting a lot of flak lately for no apparent reason. Her character can be easily avoided and doesn't have severe rEApercussions on the story. She's an "ok" voice actor, a bit emotionless but still, nothing gamebreaking.

She substitutes Emily Wong, big woop. One of my favourites (Kal'Reegar) got killed and all I got was an email, what should I do, throw molotovs at BioWare's HQ?

I feel sorry for her, but I can't help hate her character and be p***ed off at BW for forcing an IGN employee down our throats in place of an established character that would have been much more favourably recieved in that role on the Normandy.

It's not her fault I want to toss her character out an airlock. I doubt I would have liked the character even if she'd pulled off an amazing voice actor performance either. The writing wasn't great and even before she started to annoy me as a character I was already wondering why they didn't use either of the two established reporters for the role. I think Chobot was always doomed to recieve a backlash.

they killed emily wong just to make room for her. It didn't make any sense at all, just like that kal'reegar thing (wich in turn doesn't excuse adding such a poor voice actress to a professional team, the differences are just overwhelming)

They had a good character (or two if you count that chick that people like to punch) to fill that spot since ME1, they chose a new character and poorly voiced... it's not gamebreaking but still pisses me off.

She was boring in ME3. Also being with IGN isnt helping as they were quick to call most people here entitled brats.

Only reason I had her was the war assets.  Even then it was barely worth it.

The only reason that I had her was for her "Assets", personally.

Even then, the horrible outfit they put her in made it barely worth it.

Of course it's another of those things that without the ending-rage would have probably seemed far less important. But with people feeling like BW doesn't care about the fans Replacing well liked Emily Wong with an IGN employee and going to all that effort to do her 3D model suddenly seems like they are taking a dump in our hats.

Now that would have been an interesting renegade interupt that would have thrown a curveball at everyone: "Okay, Ms. Al-Jalani. You want to do some real reporting instead of this yellow journalism crap? You think you have what it takes to report from the front lines?"

"Turn the camera off. Okay what are the terms?"

"We need to get people lined up enlisting right now or we're all dead. Can you do that? You'll get exclusive coverage and edited battle victory footage. Just keep a positive spin on things. We need to give people hope. We will retake earth. Can you do this? If at any time you can't do this I'll drop you off at the next port." (or space for +24 renegade )

That said I would have preferred Emily Wong.

I can assure you that this is nothing like someone having taken a dump in your hat.

I thought Emily Wong was sacrificed pretty well.  It was like a pseudo Orson Welles War of The Worlds thing on Twitter.  If they maybe advertised it a bit better would have been the only way to have played it out better.

As fo the quality of he Voice Acting, well it wasn't great but there have been some REALLY pachy performances throughout Mass Effect.  Man Shep has been very variable, and if your comparing quality I'd say that Chobbot comes out on op for the simple reason she's not had 3 games to get to grips with it (I'll give man shep some credit though, MUCH better in ME3).

Yes there was some badly delivered lines, but no worse that some of the VA in ME3.

Speaks volumes about Bioware's relationship with the fans that so many of them can get their panties into a tight little bunch because a bit character was sacrificed (small part in first game, essentially no part in the second) in an reasonably well executed homage to classic sci-fi.
