What do you expect? BW hired a "on-air" personality NOT an actor. They are at fault. Someone offers me a gig in great game series, I ain't saying no either.

Curious, that blog post seems to have been deleted.

I don't feel sorry for her at all

Anyhow, I never cared much for Allers. She was war assets. Though I would trade her in if it meant a better Tali reveal.

Emily Wong would have made more sense under the premise that BW actually wanted to introduce an "embedded reporter" on the Normandy as part of the story. They didn't.

Jessica Chobot is there because some guy in marketing thought including her would be a great means to an end to attract the male teenager / young adult audience.

i really dont care about her either way, her character wasnt memorable in anyway-
just a war-asset, no real intresting conversations. felt a bit underdeveloped.
that isnt her fault but writing teams id presume...

but i have no hate for her or her character.
heck i dont really have an opinion about her or what she does at ign.
on her performance i think it was okay, didnt seem bad while i played. didnt stand out either.
she was just" there" lol.

and as to weather there was a deal with ign or not. i doubt she had anything to do with it
except for the obvious role in the game..

Can't say they did a great job. That dress was horrible.

she just waits on the Citadel in my game until the reapers come and annex her. I usually use the save editor and add her 5 points to the my war assets.

That is funny.

Not taking her back on my ship, though.

I didn't have a problem with her, she wasn't important enough as a character for me to feel either way.

Also her face didn't translate well into the game. Same reason why Yvonne Strahovski looks like Micheal Jacksons twin sister. Either way there really is no reason to attack Chobot personally. She just did what she was paid for. Being angry at her is just silly.

I just wish the marketing suits would have no say in BW's game developing process. They just muck things up.

I didn't love her but I didn't hate her either. She was just... there. Her voice acting actually wasn't horrible but it wasn't the best either. A few more lessons and she might even be decent. I've heard a lot worse in anime and video games. I did feel that there wasn't much of a point to having her on the ship though since she only interviews Shepard twice.

I think it is her affiliation with IGN that is causing more hate than her... interesting performance.

This...her voice acting was... acceptable...not great but not as bad as people are letting on

I don't think her VO was bad...It was completely neutral as if she was reading a script straight...But then again, she _IS_ supposed to be a reporter and that is supposed to be somewhat toneless so I didn't have a huge problem with it.

As for the character, same thing, completely neutral on it...

She worked hard? Nah to be serious her VA was terrible, really awful and her character itself just don't bring anything interesting with it. I would so prefer to have Wong back, she was a journalist i had respect for and wanted to see more of. That Chobot is with IGN just makes things worse.

I for one thought the idea of having a war reporter made a lot of sense and ehlped keep you in contact with how badly everything else was going around the galaxy. I also think that it was a cool idea bringing her in and I didn't find her performance to be remotely rage worthy. Especially in light of how the game ended. Now THAT was rage-worthy.

Yeah I do, granted her performance in ME3 wasn't the best but it is more than likely that Bioware just handed her the job without auditioning her. The people ( directors ) in charge of the voice acting also have a responsibility for performance. I've seen a few of Jessica Chobot's stuff on IGN and in almost all of those videos I have seen her display passion, energy and enthusiasm so why is then that her ME3 dialogue is so wooden and forced. Someone should have told her that the delivery of her lines wasn't good enough, encouraged her to do better.

This and she was a pointless addition. We already had to reporters we could have had on our Ship. But instead we got a deformed skank

Chobot deleted her latest blog and issued an apology for calling Retakers "babsolutely entitled whiners". Wow. Well, although I think she should use a little more restraint as a journalist, I can understand saying something in a moment of passion.

Aw, I like Chobot. I'm never gonna be angry at her for what was clearly a decision made by EA/Bioware reps and not her.

Besides, I actually didn't mind her character- I thought her offering to throw Shep a funeral service if he died was very sweet of her.

Well, good job she apologised, but I'm still kicking her off the Normandy. Hehe. :P
