Nope, not sorry at all. Don't feel sorry for her either, remember that reporter back in Mass Effect 1? Remember Citadel news net? Apparently they had to kill her off on Earth when they could have had her as the reporter on the Normandy. At least I would look forward to interviews, Emily Wong was a very good reporter.

I think another reason to feel sorry for Jessica Chobot is that she doesn't really care about games. The whole reason she exists at IGN is because it's appealing for gamers to think there are hot women out there who are into video games. Sure there may be a few but they typically only like World of Warcraft and Jessica Chobot isn't one of them.

She was forced to become something she isn't by the corporate greedsters at IGN, we should feel sorry for her.

 Who?

Twitter killed Emily Wong. I want a Project Lazarus for Ms. Wong.

I liked her character, but I couldn't take the voice seriously. It sounded like she was 'reporting' to the player, like she was on the Daily Fix show or something.

If bioware didn't make her face a giant pimple and make her head wobble around aimlessly she would be a lot more tolerable.

She would've made a good fling for Shepard too.

I just want to know, if "Battlespace" is what won out, what ELSE could have possibly been on the drawing board.

Laser zone?
War sector?
District angst?

I don't hate Diana Allers as a character, but I was disappointed with the wasted potential of story development with having an embedded war journalist on Normandy.

Think of the possibilities in dramas - Allers wants to cover footages of orphan refugee children, and a paragon Shepard has issues about Allers interviewing traumatised children about their experiences of conflict (which, if you are an academic or a journalist, there is a whole lot of ethics protocols with interviewing vulnerable groups such as children), etc. But no, Allers is limited to meaningless dialogues with Samantha, and a silly attempt at hitting on Shepard (WITH THE VIDEO CAMERA!!!).

Yes, I feel bad for her. I'm assuming she loves video games and was probably ecstatic when she got the chance to actually be in one (*). Then all she gets is hate due to a combination of a mediocre performance and her company's position on an unrelated issue. I hope she enjoyed herself during the process, and doesn't let the mud slinging get her down.

(*) I haven't looked into whether or not she actually enjoys video games, or just ended up at IGN because she needs a paycheck. If she's another Hepler, i.e. "My least favorite part of video games is playing them," I will terribly disappointed.

I don't have much of a problem with the character (aside from going for yet more over-the-top sex appeal). Despite what others have said I didn't even find the voice acting particularly bad; Liara is the one who often sounds like she's reading from a script. The association with IGN is a whole different matter.

Having al-Jalani on-board would have been so much more immersive. As it is it's more like "hey there's the IGN chick" -> IMMERSION BROKEN

To be honest, I do feel sorry for her. I think a lot of the hate is particularly strong because of the bad ending. A lot of people are grasping at various reasons for what is seen as a lack of time and/or resources for the end. I don't doubt for a minute that had the entire writing team worked on the ending script, we would've had a satisfying ending, regardless of the addition of Chobot. And had the ending been good, the extreme hate for Chobot/Allers would probably be mild irritation instead.

Personally I think the main problem is the lack of any reason for her to be in the game, I'm sure she tried her hardest but in comparison to the mostly seasoned professionals working on this game her voice acting is noticeably weaker, this wouldn't be so bad if not for the fact that her character was used in a role that could have been fulfilled by two pre existing characters in the game, instead the obvious likeable replacement was killed off on twitter...

Nope, I'd rather have that romance dialogue taken out in favor of expanding existing Non-Liara romances (Liara gets a bunch of favoritism and plot armor). I never thought it was tasteful to have Allers advance on you =.= traumatizing, keep it professional.

What... no.

I mean I don't hate her or anything, but I don't feel sorry for her. She got paid. And I'm sure she knew she was a bad voice actor already.

I just don't really get what do people want with her VA. Yeah, there might be better people for it, but I hadn't really any problems with her acting. As for her character, it's just some addition, and every addition is good.

I have nothing against Miss Chobot at all. I have never insulted her once.

If people wanted to be constructive, they could try to help her to improve. I get the impression that it would have gone down with fans better if they didn't recreate her real life image though.

She was a marginal character, so why do people care so much?

I think people complain for the sake of complaining. They just want to crucify anything.

Yes, clearly IGN forced her to do that PSP licking thing before they hired her.

Yes, it's all mainly IGN's fault to for defending the ending and call the majority of the player base whinny children. Ms. Chobot is being attacked so harshly because of her affiliation with IGN.

Not a favorite character of mine, but not my least favorite. IGN is just a company with no ethos left. Guilt by association.

I have nothing against her either. Her performance was adequate, not spectacular, and not horrible. I would have rather had Emily Wong, or the other reporter with the really long name, on my ship because they were familiar faces. Better yet, I would have rather had the choice between all three. If I would have been able to interact with her more, maybe I would have become more attached to her as I was with the other crew members.

I didn't hate her and I didn't think what she did was terrible.
I was confused on why i wasn't dealing with Emily Wong but that was about it
I think Chobot did fine for the role she had.

She was boring in ME3. Also being with IGN isnt helping as they were quick to call most people here entitled brats.

...and yet your avatar is a picture of her character. Image IPB

Jessica C*ckblock? Mmh well, I didn't think her voice acting was bad.
But then again, in my version of the game (German), it wasn't even Jessica's voice lol.

But everytime I walked up to her to see if she had something to say at least once, I was soo damn tempted to just send her off my ship. If it hadn't been for the war asserts.

Her VA kind of sucked, but I did feel bad for her when I saw how awful they made her character look.
