okay, lets take this one step further, but I thought there was a difference to Liara VA in ME3 as opposed to earlier VA. the quality or something was different, noticeable, and yes.... irritating is appropriate:O.Slash1667 wrote...

Wow, this. I totally agree, but you're not the only one prepping the flame shields now.
I only feel mildly sympathetic for Chobot, as she should be well aware by now that in this line of work their are always supporters and detractors. I'm one of those detractors, and feel no regrets about it.
Hmmmm should we be getting the fire suits and extinguisher ready?
Does anyone else feel sorry for Jessica Chobot?

I feel for her because I think she's baring a lot of the brunt for coming to embody the incestuous relationship between the devs/publishers and the gaming 'media'. It's not her fault that she's essentially an attractive girl who happens to be a gamer and made a good career out of it. Now she gets an opportunity to be in a game. Who wouldn't do that?
Because they went too far.
A cameo? Sure, why not. But they essentially gave a major supporting role to someone WHO IS NOT AN ACTRESS.
This is bizarre and unforgivable in the light of the fact that she was placed into a role that should've been given to Emily Wong or Khalisha Al-Jilani (both voiced by talented VAs) and comes in the light of major characters like Harbinger and well loved characters like Kal'Reegar being completely sidelined.
Therefore, the ire is justified.
I think you're misunderstanding me. I think the 'ire' for the decision to employ her was justified becaus it was an awful decision.. But that's not her fault.
Personally, I think she should have refused and asked for a cameo.
That's what I would've done. I know my limitations, and I would be no one to replace voice actresses who have made a career out of it.

She's ok. She has a tattoo of the triforce on her arm. She's cool with me just from her love of Zelda. I didn't hate her in ME3 either. Her character wasn't important enough to go all nerd rage over like some people do.
This, really. I saw her a total of three times in my entire playthrough. I let her on my ship but didn't seek her out for anything really. Same with Cortez.

We should stop being so mean to Jessica Chobot because even though she sucks, she still probably gave it her all.

Ok this is gonna sound creepy so I apologize.
In ME3 Liara sounded like that 14 or 15 year old girl in some movies that tries to sound sexy and seductive...and fails miserably

Multiple layers of Nomex, heat resistant fiberglass cloth, HALON, PKP, anything else you've got.

Really? I thought she was good. Plenty of emotion, especially in the scene where she recorded your legacy.
I cant tell if you guys just think Liara as a character is annoying, or if you really felt like one of the more accomplished VA's in videogaming did a poor job.

Not all of this is by any means Chobot's fault personally, but she didn't exactly shine either. Her character was forced, felt that way, and came off very much as a video game journalist in SPAAAAAAAAAAAACE when we already had decent journalist characters in the game.

Nope.
She is not a gamer.
She is not a nerd.
She is not a geek.
She is just someone putting herself out there in the gaming community like Olivia Munn [who is also not a nerd or gamer] that used nerd appeal to become famous to get into acting/modeling.
Her assets are worth jack nothing.
i am so glad she ends up dead after you kick her off the ship/don't recruit her.
Makes me wonder if you threw her out airlock.
Im going to repeat this from my first post. You say she's not a gamer?...well, she has a tattoo of the triforce from Legend of Zelda on her arm. I hardly think a non gamer would have a permanent marking on herself related to a video game if she wasn't a gamer. She does play games, she is a self confessed nerd, and tech lover, so I hardly think you saying she's not, when she says she is, holds much water. Ive read interviews with her where she talks about her love for gaming.
Every actress has a script. And every poser has a stance.
