actually she's my always in squad with garrus and now vega. I just put the difference in VA down to her absence in ME2. I had not played any DLC as I was waiting for ME3 then I was planning on one continues beginning to end run through with a fresh character.zzcoreyzz wrote...
Really? I thought she was good. Plenty of emotion, especially in the scene where she recorded your legacy.
I cant tell if you guys just think Liara as a character is annoying, or if you really felt like one of the more accomplished VA's in videogaming did a poor job.
Does anyone else feel sorry for Jessica Chobot?

Even now, all I pretty much knows is she works for IGN in some sense. A video reporter, is that right?
Allers seemed a pretty pointless addition to the ship. I do agree that it's a shame it couldn't have been Emily Wong, that would've felt like something more of a connection to the previous games.

Not really. It sounds like she wasn't even trying with the voicework, and it's kind of irritating that they spent time and money rendering such a useless character when they could have used those resources elsewhere.
I was never a Talimancer, but she still comes to mind.

okay, lets take this one step further, but I thought there was a difference to Liara VA in ME3 as opposed to earlier VA. the quality or something was different, noticeable, and yes.... irritating is appropriate:O.Slash1667 wrote...

Funny thing is (getting ready for the backlash on this one) I felt Liara's (Ali Hillis) was MUCH worse than Chobot's. Noone's voice in the game got on my nerves worse than her's.
Wow, this. I totally agree, but you're not the only one prepping the flame shields now.
I only feel mildly sympathetic for Chobot, as she should be well aware by now that in this line of work their are always supporters and detractors. I'm one of those detractors, and feel no regrets about it.
Hmmmm should we be getting the fire suits and extinguisher ready?

Honestly I would have to say the following:
1. Liara has been an irritant to me since ME1.
2. Hear voice acting has always been annoying with it becoming just plain bad in ME3. (I feel Ali Hillis did a very poor job)
3. She is forced on us in ME3 to the point of me wanting to toss her out the airlock.
4. Her character progression from ME1 to ME3 is just WTF.
This is all in MY opinion. I know that there or others that like the character and what they've done with her and I respect that. I just wish we could have killed her off in the suicide mission in ME2.

Ok does anyone else notice this guy has pretty much made a "Don't you feel sorry for *blank*?" thread for nearly everything now?
Has he done Space Hamster yet?

I don't really feel sorry for Jessica. She was paid for her time and efforts. Now lets just hope she doesn't get to be a VA ever again.
Honestly I would tell her to just stay off this site, who needs people you will never know irl constantly putting you down and being negative. Actually just stay off the internets in general

Lonely? Every time I was doing a walkthrough of the ship to see what was going on and who was where, someone else was either in there talking to her or she was telling me she was too busy to talk.thehomeworld wrote...
I don't mind her she seems so lonely in that room all the time. I feel bad for her when I tell her to get me support because she sounds so miserable and lonely.

Emily Wong was the logic choice. Khalisah Bint Sinan al-Jilani would also have been great.

Every actress has a script. And every poser has a stance.
I'd believe that, were Chobot an actress of any sort.
I'm not sure why you're insistent that she's not a gamer. Is that even an issue? Who cares? The issue here is whether she's appropriate for a major supporting role, and she clearly is not.
Also since when was being a nerd some sort of club you have to join or have cred for?

The OP is either the most sarcastic thing I've read here in a while or the most backhanded compliment about doing her best she's ever likely to hear.
Truly OP is a brilliant internet performance artist. The trick to his art is how he gets other people to do the performance for him.

However i'll give her no end of critical appraisal over her rather poor performance as an actress.
However one has to point more to Bioware for creating a flakey bubblegum reporter role rather than a proper war correspondent one in what seems to have been an obvious stunt. It is sad as the war correspondent idea had so much potential.

Not in the least.
I do feel sorry for Emily Wong's VA that should have had the part however.
