I chose the Marauder Shields ending.
If things stay as they are, i will always do that. Forever.
So which ending did a majority of you choose?

I chose Destroy on my one and only playthrough. My paragon Shepard was so pissed off at the absolute senselessness of it all that she decided if she wasn't going to live through it, neither were the Reapers. Made us both feel better...kinda...
Control was out of the question, I don't believe the Reapers would have stayed controlled and Synthesis would have changed the living fabric of the Universe - my Shepard wasn't going to play god like the Reapers were trying to do.

First choice: Synthesis. Reasoning to be found in this thread.
Second choice: Control. Reasoning: you keep all options open, keep the Citadel intact and don't commit genocide.

I see that "what is your favorite color" thread pops up again and again.^^
Destroy for multiple reasons:
- It's the only one in which Reapers are getting rid of, which was the goal over the course of 3 games;
- TIM and Saren wanted blue and green;
- I don't believe the starkid (including that geth and EDI will die);
- Makes most sense of all the nonsensical mess the whole ending is;
- Dying fast in the explosion is preferable than slowly and painfully being dissolved like in the other 2;
- Besides, seems like Shepard doesn't die (which is nonsensical on it's own because of the whole explosion and atmospheric reentry but whatever);
- I like red color.
.....I had other reasons but I forgot.
Ah yeah, who knows, maybe ind.theory will be proven truth eventually (I'm skeptical on that though)

Sorry, OT, but how do you know Destroy option isn't a lie too? After all, StarKid said it is a part of its race. There have to be others, supposedly ready to do whatever they want and ready to finish civilisations torn apart by the big red explosion.Peer of the Empire wrote...

Destroy.
I couldn't find the logic with Control. This idiot starchild says that you will die. Well, if you die, how can you control the reapers if you're dead and not consciously aware of whats going on?
Ah yes, space magic. So yeah that ticked me off enough to where I flip the bird to everything and pick destroy.

I picked the CherryEnding.
GodChild logic sounded so weird the first time... and I was actually walking towards the BlueBerryEnding until I saw that it wasn't the same structure "Anderson" was shooting his pistol at. A really weird play on colors. So after realizing that I went straight toward the CherryEnding.
I wasn't going to let the Reapers survive. In all three games Shepard has always had his mind on destroying the Reapers since they are pretty set on killing everything else in the galaxy... And I was holding out hope for Jack to reunite with Shepard, as it sounded from GodChild like there was a chance Shepard would survive the CherryEnding... and what do you know, I got the "breath-scene"... but no sign of Jack. Sh!t.
I had my EMS at nearly 6800. And I didn't even know how to get the hidden ending or even what the hidden ending was. I only knew that I had to have high EMS to unlock it. Funny.

The ending choice really depends on the type of Shepard you have. I played my Shepard as if it were actually me making the choices. I chose Destroy for a few reasons. First, it had been my goal from the beginning. Control and Synthesis just seemed like cop-outs to me: "I know you've been actively struggling against insurmountable odds to kill all the reapers....BUT you could control them or synthesize all life too...*trollface*" Control was what TIM wanted and Synthesis was too close to Saren's ideals to be a viable option for me.
Second, the main theme of the ME games seems to be galactic alliance, and that victory can be achieved through that. I worked in 1, it worked in 2, and it worked in 3, at least up until the last few minutes. So while Destroy may have only brought temporary peace, my Shepard knew that any conflict in the future could be handled through unity. Shepard brought together the Krogans and the Turians, the Geth and the Quarians, so anything in the future that could present itself, could be taken care of through his example.
More important than that though, is that I'm a pretty loyal person and I don't usually go back on my word. I wanted this reflected in my Shepard. Shepard had stated multiple times throughout the game that one of the main reasons he was fighting was for the friendships he had made and specifically for his LI, so when Harry Plothole (I name I saw someone mention for the godkid that I thought was pretty funny "Harry Plothole and the Citadel of Secrets!") never said Destroy would kill me outright like the other two options would, I chose that because it meant I had the chance of reuniting with my squad and my LI. And then that never happened.... Yes I wanted a happy ending (option for one not mandatory happy ending for everybody) for my Shepard, but only because I thought that's what I was working for all along and that the previous games have showed us that we can get one as long as we play our cards right. I know this isn't an IT theory discussion but I definitely believe in it, or at the very least that BioWare has something up their sleeves because it has to end in a better way than what we got. Anyhow those are the reasons I picked Destroy

And to clarify: I can'ttake anything Starbrat says at face value. He says I'm the first organic to make it that far, but how do I know that? He claims that I can control the Reapers, but how can I be sure that he won't simply have control of me afterward? How do i know Harbinger wasn't once standing where I was facing the same opions? Now he is this idiots slave. Synthesis made no sense. There can never be an end to evoluiotion. Hinge that don't evolve become extinct.
Destroy was the only logical endgame.

Like others have said, I played all three games as a Paragon. I chose Renegade choices (shooting Udina, ruthlessly killing Blue Suns and other Mercs, killing Kai Leng etc) here and there that made sense since I tried to base actions and dialogue on what I would say in the situation. The vast majority of my choices were Paragon though.
However, at the end... after struggling with which horrible option to choose I chose to destroy the Reapers, despite it being shown as a Renegade action and possibly the most renegade in the entire series.
Basically I saw it as this:
- Synthesis: I didn't like it the first time I saw it on Beast Machines. Plus, despite hating to say this, it was WAY too much "space magic" for me. It didn't make any sense for that to even happen.
- Control: Shepard even asks the Illusive Man what if he can't control them, and the Catalyst asks you do you THINK you can control them. What if this solution isn't permanent? What if since I know I'm going to die, this doesn't work and the Reapers return after regaining control of themselves?
- Destroy: I've fought for this long to destroy the Reapers. I want a solution that I KNOW they are dead and gone and will never return. This was the only choice to ensure it happened. I hated destroying the Geth, especially after allying them with the Quarians.. and I didn't feel good about killing EDI. This was the only choice for me, and I highly doubt I'll ever choose anything else if I play again.

I ruled out synthesis immediately. Altering the cells of every living being against their will is completely immoral not to mention the process of how this was going to happen sounds ridiculous. Control would be the cleanest and I seriously considered it but it seemed too risky so I think destroy is the best option. If control was guaranteed to work, and you could just send all the reapers flying into the sun, it would be the best option.

Easier to pick Destroy because you get the psychological satisfaction of wiping the Reapers out without seeing the Geth being eradicated as well, and EDI going offline for good (and Joker's reaction.)
If they had shown all that stuff, I'm sure that ending would be liked a lot less.
