I am on the friendship path with Anders and nearing the end of act 2. I realize that I'd rather like to have him at 100% rival by the end of the game. Is there some moments near end game where I can get his approval to drop like a rock? Like the "refuse Merrill the item in Mirror Mirror" moment? I already completed Dissident and he is at like 85% friend. I don't know if I have enough time to get him at max rival. Basically need a -185 swing. I still have a few side quests left in act 2 and the last main quest.
Thanks
Q: How to get rapid massive disapproval for Anders near the end game...

He takes a big leap in Rivalry points if you side with the sloth demon during Night Terrors.

Noticed you have the PC version, worst case scenario is that you activate the game console and give yourself rivalry with him.

Yeah I do. I suppose I could use the console though I hate using it.

Did he ask you allready to get "the ingredients for the potion"? (act 3)
If you haven't done his personal quest you get massive rivalry (30 I think) if you turn him down.

Nope, I'm still in act 2. But he's at 85 friendship. I need a lot of rivalry points. I need 135 just to get him to that 50% rivalry range.

The only other advise I can give you is take him along on pro mage quests and side against the mages. That could mess up your game though depending on the archievements you are trying to gain. This should get you a lot of rivalry points.

I am sorry, but i don't think there are enough rivalry points left. At best you might get him to neutral.

I'm going to agree that if you are that far along, there probably aren't enough opportunities left to bring him down to complete rivlary. Your best shot is just to a) refuse to help him in any way shape or form and
bring him along on all your quests and refuse to help mages. But even then, I doubt you are going to make it to full on rivalry. Your best chances at a rivalry with Anders is to bring him along on all your quests in Act 1 and 2 and never side with mages (ie. side with the templars or attempt to remain neutral) and also disagree with him or criticize his choices whenever you talk to him. Also, as someone else mentioned, if you side with the demon over him in the Fade, he will pretty much hate you forever (unless you tell him it was all an elaborate trick). But by Act 3 I think you are pretty much set with all of your companions on one side of the scale or the other, or you are stuck with neutral.

Thanks for all the advice.
I think I'll just max his friendship. I only want to turn him into a rival because I spoiled the ending for myself and don't like what he did. Up until act 3, I pretty much like Anders. My natural inclination was to friend him. I'm sure bioware meant for you to feel this betrayal.

If you do another play through you should totally bring him along. He's got some interesting dialogue.
