Somewhere prior to purchasing and downloading the "From Ashes" DLC someone needs to add in the description of the download this (taken from EA's 'help.ea.com' site:

"...Select the DLC you would like to install and click “Ready to Download”. Download the DLC and launch the game. Note: launching the game before the DLC has completely downloaded can result in black screen crashes during gameplay.

You will find the new content available once you gain access to the Normandy after completing the game's prologue. Specific items, such as the M55 Argus Assualt Rifle, will appear on the Weapon Bench or in the Armor Locker located on the Normandy."

Without this information we are left clueless as to the success or not of the DLC's installation.  If you would stop making a mystery of this business you might not get so many phone calls or problem posts.  BioWare's Social Network should have an obvious link to 'help.ea.com' too--maybe it does?
