I somewhat liked Fallout 3 but it's not even close to AAA or 10/10 game.

8/10 is only a bad score compared to other reviews.

I love some of the comments on this review though:
"There's a huge gulf between the completely mindless Easy and the demanding Normal. On the latter, you'll either have to be a Tactics genius or prepared to pause and micro-manage frequently to get through tougher fights, and even veteran RPG players with a full command of the game's skills will find some regular pulls or mini-bosses turning into epic wars of attrition that will drain their stocks of consumables. That's all fair enough, of course, but without a smooth step up from Easy, it cramps what should have been an expansive middle ground for novice players who wanted to get deeper into the game. Dragon Age is either a pushover or a hardcore RPG. "
Seems to be a real RPG n00b.
He is just angry because he has to wailt for his Diablo3, where he can hunt shiny things and stick pointy thingies in squishy thingies, meanwhile he has friends with lvl 99 FO/Cl Soso's and Hammerdins helping him to "advance" in the "storyline". Pffff

Oh as an on topic note:
Eurogamer to me has always seemed like the "punk kid" of the Game reviewers. Always wanting to be "different" and cause up a stir and saying "F you mom" 10 times a day.
Agreed, that's the impression I got from reading the review. Seemed like they were nit picking the whole time. Constantly complaining about how this game was generic, obviously the games fantasy setting is generic, there's only so much you can do in the fantasy genre, but that's what makes it fun, why fix what isn't broken? It's a hardcore fantasy RPG, BioWare knew who the consumers were for this game and built the game specifically for them, which more games should do nowadays as opposed to trying to please everybody.

Sounds like the reviewer just plain doesn't like the type of game this is - quotes Oblivion and WOW several times!
He technicaly didn't quoted just WoW, he quoted the Warcraft universe as a whole and he was talking just about the lore aspect and everyone must admit that warcraft universe is one of the richest ones out there.
Having said that, I must say that I strongly disagree with the review, all other reviewers strongly praise the game and the reviews clearly was expecting a action based rpg, **** he even critized the excess of dialog.

I'm extremely happy to see the PC reviews so far. Eurogamer have never been that great of a review site anyway...though I understand fully how biased that may sound. Just waiting for my CE in the post...bloody UK postage!

He gave WoW: Wrath of the Lich King a 10/10.
Much like a PS3 reviewer at destructoid gave the PS3 version a 75/100, while I saw he gave Killzone 2 a 95/100.
Really once I see that I don't care at all what they have to say about anything.

eurogamer gave oblivion and fallout 3 10/10 ...
lol that says it all, both were lack luster, uninspiring, lifeless and heartless games, lacking any depth... it all comes down to taste, I rate those 2 games 8 at best.

This combined with other comments about WoW or Oblivion is what tells me this guy shouldn't be doing reviews because he's not objective.
Dragon Age seems to be a great alternative to all of them, because it's different and there for an alternative. Not to mention it seems to be one of the more fully realized worlds right out of the box.
And in my own opinion, most of his negative points are things I associate with Oblivion (one of the most expansive yet amazingly bland and empty settings I've played), something he seems to hold in higher regard and don't see those failings at all with DAO.

Your mileage may vary. I thought it was a good review. It cut through the marketing hype, it didn't tell you all the stuff you already knew from a million other reviews and previews, and it contained a good deal of criticism of both the artistic and technical merits of the game.
8/10 is only a bad score compared to other reviews.
Except he gave Wrath of the Lich King a 10/10.
Whatever, that reviewer is worthless.

Oh, that might be the root. (Personally, I loathe both.) The author stated that he liked Bethesda's games:
-> "... you can escape the gravitational pull of the game's design the way you can in, for example, Bethesda's RPGs." Sure, yeah. Consuming low quality of inputs and then be forced to run, that's somewhat an escape.
Another funny quotes:
-> "The game's locations are cramped, dull and devoid of atmosphere ..." I couldn't agree more. Any time I remember those randomly generated towers and dungeons in Oblivion, I'm about to start crying. So much for the atmosphere.
-> "There's no sense of a contiguous, believable world out there..." Like, for example a world where the impression of a clean, polished and politically-correct dollhouse is regularly interrupted only by shallow bloodiness in raiders' dens. What was the game?
I have never understood Bethesda's fans anyway. But seeing one of them complaining about what his favourites suffer from thousandfold ... that's too much.
