I think I read somewhere a Bioware statement saying something along the lines of: "We aren't afraid of putting in nudity, as you've seen. but just because we can, doesn't mean we will without a proper reason"

Hypocritical much Bioware?

FYI, I would be ok without nudity (as is the case now), and obviously not mind if it was there, pixels or not, well shaped nudity is good on the eyes. However introducing sex scenes and indeed a freaking shower scene, with clothes on is ridiculous. Then don't have the themes in the game, stick to the much more humane blood and guts...

Ridiculous scenes like that are a big part of why I loathe Bioware's pathetic attempts at "romance" so much. It baffles me why so many romance-obsessed fanboys/girls are so concerned about whether their Shepard will be able to partake in a laughably-bad cutscene of dry-humping with this or that character.

ACTUALLY, I know a decent amount of girls that will shower with the bra on. Good bras can be ridiculously expensive, they're the one thing you actually want to follow the washing instructions on. Since most of them say to hand wash and then drip dry I know a lot of girls who have just worn them in the shower to wash them, myself included, and then hang them on the curtain rod to dry when they're done.

But still, this doesn't excuse the awkwardness of that scene.

I think the point is she wasn't in there to wash her bra.  Just sayin'.

Yeah, the whole wearing clothes while showering is kind of a turn-off.

I can see heads get blown off, people burning and screaming as they slowly die, blown into pieces.

But the act of love-making is crossing too many boundaries.

So much for a double-standard...

Also Traynor, you obviously went up to shepard's cabin with the sole-intent of getting into Shepard's pants, why not just go all out?

False, I wanked off to it.

That game was never in my short list of games to play but now.....

Reconsidering....

You mean they remember controversy? I can't wait to see DA3's ending.

1) Destroy Darkspawn
2) Control Darkspawn
3) Merge with Darkspawn

Btw all 3 choices blow up the continent.

Fixed!

Otherwise, shut the thread down, you win!

It's about ridiculous, contrived, disgusting sexuality, not nudity itself

No ending with Fem-shep doing jello shots off of Traynor's naked body?

Man I was excited for this character since her VA voiced Ser Cauthrien. She was just kind of there though, I missed Kelly.

...the game will go on and on back and forth for about 90 hours or so until it just sort of ends, you mean.

[EDIT: Psst, Javik can smell crime. Well, touch crime anyway.]

Apparently whomever wrote up those scenes take fully clothed showers.  Man they must smell.

It's all part of the artistic integrity. Have you ever seen a painting of a nude model? That would be the end of the world. ;)

The witcher 2 people! excellent game

In a way that completely avoided any meaningful breaking of censorship, since you can see any part of a woman you want and that's perfectly lovely as long as you don't see (GASP!) a MAN naked! Oh, no, that would be terrible. Because everyone knows that society would collapse from an avalanche of gay conversions if (SHUDDER!) Geralt actually had sex whilst naked! Insert Chuck Norris-style joke here!

The Witcher 2 is one of the greatest culprits, since--like Traynor--Geralt has sex and takes a bath with his clothes on. Hell, he's wearing pants, not even just underwear.

There is this hilarious double standard. Notice how everyone says, "boobs" and "women" and "a nude woman" in these arguments and almost no one (if anyone) ever mentions men or their assets. Because those things are obviously evil, unlike breasts!

Maybe some of these soccer moms that people love to deride lived in a society where they could see that admiration of a nude body doesn't have to preclude respect for the person it belongs to--partly because media were equally generous to both male-attracted and female-attracted viewers, so they too can have a few little thrills and not just their teenage sons--then perhaps they would loosen up a little.

And before anybody asks, no, I don't have or want kids. :P I just think that change in society is only going to come when the issue stops being about how only women must be allowed to be naked. I think this censorship of female desires is directly related to the perception of women being sexless--rather than it actually being true, women just think they have to pretend they are if they want to be taken seriously in certain contexts. That should change. Then there would be fewer uptight women to complain about nudity in general because they would be seeing a picture of equal opportunity nudity, rather than just exploitation of their gender.

Realism only works if it works for both men and women. If one of the sexes remains clothed... well, that's both fetishy and unfair.

I'm personally not at all afraid of tasteful nudity--I don't at all mind if gentlemen and lesbians have the chance to admire the female form if I, other women, and gay men also have the chance to admire the male form. Mass Effect 1 wasn't bad on that count. Too bad Fox... well, everyone knows. *sigh*

Seriously? A game where you can blow guys up and have a shower of gore splatter on the ground doesn't have the balls to show a naked woman in the shower? And people are complaining that the *fanbase* is making it hard for people to take video games seriously as art(which is a bull**** argument in the first place, since no one person can agree on what art actually *is* in the first place).

Heh, considering Liara got a full nude model, why shouldn't Traynor?

Then again, all of the culminating love scenes besides Liara's were an even tamer version of ME2's. If they didn't want to anger the press, I don't know why they made Liara's scene resemble the stuff from ME1. I thought ME1 was done tastefully, but I know one of the major problems Fox and even some foreign countries had with it was the fact that Shep could be "rolling around and rubbing up on" with a blue space lady. So, uh, go figure . . .

I did her romance for the lulz (didn't keep the save). It was so awkward how Shepard just smirks while Traynor showers in her underwear. It did make me laugh at least.
