Haven't played it since the second day after release. I'm waiting to hear what Bioware's plannning to do, hopefully at PAX.
How far did you get? And did you YouTube the endings?

I would play through again, if not for the random black-screen bug that makes the entire game unplayable...
Wow. I thought that was the sort of thing that only happens to PCs. What's the point of crappy fixed hardware if it doesn't make the game bug-free?

As it stands there is no point to replaying the campaign. The whole reason you replay choice based single player campaigns is to witness the outcome of your decisions. All decisions are invalidated at the t minus 5 minute mark, so why bother?
Hmm... by that logic there's no reason to replay KotOR, since all your games go to either the LS or DS ending regardless of what you did or didn't do during the course of the game. ME1's the same, come to think of it. And BG2. Actually, most Bio games ever have ended like this.

Sorry, should have clarified. I did beat it, but figured with the announcement that there will be changes/clarification, I'd give it some time to settle. I also got alot of games backed up that I put on hold (Fallout: NV first time, replaying the Assassin's Creed series).

I disagree with you. Mass Effect is a story, not a "choice based single player campaign". It can be enjoyed in many ways. I'm playing it for the fifth time right now. I enjoy the art, characterisation, and all the epic and intimate moments, like fighting the Reaper or seeing Shep/Liara's relationship grow.
And, if I may...we could also say your life is a choice based single player campaign with no replay, and all your decisions are invalidated at the t-minus zero mark. So...why bother? 'Cause it's about the journey, not the ending.

Wow -- you must have really put in some serious hours to beat it that fast. That's why I thought you might have just YouTubed the endings.

Dumb as it might sound, replay value has never really been a problem for me. Sure, it's great when the game provides alternate pathways to the same goal, but even when there's only one approach to take, if the game itself is fun, I'll replay it a bunch of times, much like rereading a book or rewatching a movie.

It would be like taking a road trip in order to intentionally drive off of a cliff.
The first time can be excusable. You don't see the cliff coming.
Doing it a second time after you drove off the cliff the first time? Why?

Haha yeah, I have a very addictive personality when it comes to anything I enjoy doing, be it games, movies, food, whatever. On the bright side, it also works for more serious things (on occasion), like if I want to start exercising or really want to do well in a course I'm taking. I just don't know the meaning of moderation, bad as that is.

And like Dragon Age 2, the endings aren't nearly as bad as this place would have you believe

I like how even those who defend the game, the best they can say is the endings "aren't nearly as bad". As opposed to, you know, liking the endings.
Ps. Not picking on you. Just quoting your comment because I've seen a lot of those who "defend" ME3 still not even say the endings were good, just that they're not "nearly as bad" as they're made out to be.

This. But even though I like the ending, it is disappointing enough to take away my motivation of doing a fresh playthrough of the entire series. Can't wait to start another ME3 playthrough though.

Because everyone agrees that the ending could've been better. I liked the ending, but that doesn't mean it does not have room for improvements. I can't think of why many in this community think that there's only 2 opinions about the ending. For some people its just "It sucks!" or "Its very good!"... Can't people have an opinion that is somewhere in between?
My opinion is...
Do I like the ending? Yes
Is the ending disappointing? Yes
Does the ending make sense? Yes (but not all of it)
Does the ending sucks? No...
So yeah...
they're not "nearly as bad" as they're made out to be...

No. Did/found/achieved everything on my first perfect run. Me3 is really short and linear compared to other two... Maybe will try again in few years.
I did ME1 in less time than ME3. But that's only because I hate "go to the same place with different textures" mission.
OP:
Yep. Replayed through 1, 2 and now replaying 3. I can tell how much BioWare has improved, and how much they haven't. I can also tell the crap people spur about ME1 and ME2 being masterpieces xD

Basically, I'm replaying for every reason other than seeing the story arcs conclude. Because, given the ending, I just don't give a damn about the story. At all. When I finish these playthroughs, I'm done with Mass Effect and BioWare for good.
