So is anyone having a great time whenever you encounter one of these in DAO?
Some I can remember offhand:
Encountering Gaxkang.
When you're asked if you want to gather your party and venture forth.
The comment hookers give you in The Pearl when you bed them.
What else? I'm sure I'm forgetting a ton as I write this.

"If ye wants to go strapping with this nab, you'll have to give up the socket money!"
Just a quote I remembered from Baldur's Gate I hookers... Not in Dragon Age though.

I think you can get one of the Pantaloons if you let the dog dig somewhere. Can't remember where exactly I found it.

Yeah, they do appear similar.
I found Edwina in that noble tavern. Can't say for sure if that was meant to be a reference, given the existing name, but Edwina in BG2 did quite a lot of humor, if you ask me
But gather your party and venture forth, when I've seen it, I've made a big smile. Perhaps that's why this is the spiritual successor? Of course, the deep annoying voice is still missing

You've almost convinced me to mod it in.
You know, so it plays every time you try to leave an area while in combat.

Not only when you're in combat, but also when one of your characters is more than five meters away from the door/area change. God how I hate that message.

Right I had forgotten about that. I told dog "you can never have too many pantaloons" or something to that effect.

I recall someone who had found two Pantaloons over the course of their travels.
I wonder if you find them both, as well as a pair of Pantallettes before doing Orzammar, you can trade them to Carridan in order to turn a party member into a golem.

I'd say you get the guy's armor, to dress Shale, or be in a super-full plate. 200 armor! Bwahaaha...ha...hah...
But it could be nice if it was true.

Can't remember if it was at the noble tavern or the Pearl, but I had a fuzzy warm feeling inside when I heard the guys raising a toast "To battle, and victory!"

Lsten carefully to the background sound/voices in Denerim. This is SO similar to the voices
in Athkathla; they say maybe different words, but the "catch" is the same. Made me grin *g

Fighting the rats in the noble human origin was meant as a paean to Candlekeep. Your companion even makes a reference to this seeming like the start of an adventure story.

Just out of curiosity, I know that Kevin Michael Richardson voiced Sarevok in Baldur's Gate. Was that his voice that said, "You must gather your party before venturing forth"?
