Anyone Else Over It?

Of course, fast forward to two nights ago, and they were completely puzzled. They'd seen my facebook and twitter complaining about ME3, and of course they'd seen the news coverage, etc, as well. One friend asked me: "Is it really THAT bad?" He had kind of a condescending tone, like even though they're all gamers, maybe I was taking my game a little TOO seriously.
Then I told them that I wouldn't spoil the ending for them, but if I wanted to, I could tell them the EXACT ending they would see, independent of any choices they had made. And then I told them that the ending doesn't even really tell you who is dead or alive, or what happened to the Krogans or the Quarians or the Geth. And that characters magically teleport without explanation. And the whole Tali's face fiasco. All of that.
And they agreed with me...they won't be buying ME3 after all, despite it being an obvious purchase for them before I opened my mouth.
Am I over fighting on the boards? Yep. I'm just here out of morbid curiosity now, to see how bad it can get. But am I over getting ripped off? Nope.

In the end....unless something happens at PAX, I think we're just plain stuck in the same boat they are. Ultimately, it falls to the fans to try and pick up the pieces and keep going. A big reason why I've been able to get back into the game is because of things like the Marauder Shields comic which i've been able to mentally copy and paste over the current endings.
I really wish we had an SDK for the game because it would open up a lot of options for the fans to try and fix this disaster. The Star Wars prequels have Fanedits, and they've given fans a lot of tools to reshape the movies into something bareable. It's a travesty that we don't have the ability to mod.

I've seen videos of people using the character models from the game to make joke animations. If Bioware ends up dropping the ball, I'm sure, at some point, sopmeone will complete the game for them.

Ive been a hardcore gamer since 1998 and never before has a game disappointed me and then told me to buy DLC.

No. My Nerd Rage will forever burn strong about this, just like it does for the Star Wars prequels and the last two seasons of The X-Files.
Don't even get me started on the prequels and X-Files xD Why did you have to go there??

I'm still not over the idiocy of putting platforming jumping puzzles in an isomeric RPG-Ultima VIII.
Long memories

I've actually been flirting with that idea for some time now.
The problem is, while a ton of the art is already there, it's just one step. All the animation systems for the characters are effectively destroyed and rendered unworkable for new content upon reimporting. You can load canned animations....but you'd probably need to rerig every character to achieve any sort of quality animation for new content.
I doubt one guy could do it. You'd need a small but pretty dedicated team to have any hope of achieving something like this.....and I'm only talking a rendered video. Probably no chance of getting anything other than Sheploo either.

Because it's entirely comprabable to what the ME3 ending is, and they're both sci-fi.
And SEE. People STILL aren't over how The X-files ended!

I've also replayed the game one time. Basically the exact same playthrough, except it was NG+.

I agree about the nerd rage part. You accurately portrayed the feelings of many fans right there. XD
All though my nerd rage will live on for all eternity (or at least until I get over it, or if the DLC we're hoping for comes out), I can deal with (more like “accept”) if no DLC comes out.

But nope. Still backsliding into apathy about the whole series.
Damn shame, really.
