An Essay - Romance Upgrade DLCs V2.0

Honestly, Shepard spent 2 years dead, got called out on Horizon by Ashley and then stayed faithful regardless. You'd think they would have a lot more to talk about when she finally gets back to the Normandy than just an occasional "Hey Shepard"?!

I romanced Ashley in ME, stayed faithful in ME2(no romance) and yet, I feel like I didn't get enough if I didn't romance Liara.
I then played ME2 again, ONLY to romance Miranda, then played through ME3 with that save file... I ended up picking Ashley anyways, since I just have that emotional attachment to the character since the first game in the series.
TL;DR - Please improve the romances that is not Liara.

I hope we get an Extended Romance DLC as well eventually that would flesh out the Mass Effect 2 & 3 Romances as well as adding new options.
Possable Male Additions:
Kasumi Goto
Gianna Parasini
EDI
Possable Female Additions:
Vega
Joker
Possable Male/Female Additions:
Samara
Aria T'Loak
Shiala
I support Extended Romance DLC

However, I think that both of them would be absolutely perfect additions to the game! We can only hope that Bioware takes notice of this idea of yours and puts it into production, no matter how slim the chances of that happening actually are.

For me, Jack would be highly preferred but any LI should be treated on a level with Liara...

I really like the idea of having your ME2 LI's with you in the game once more. I think Bioware has cut some corners with the ME2 squadmates. They could have been so much more, there was so much potential and I kinda feel like they wasted that potential. Also, a DLC like this could make a lot of people happy again. I know I would be very happy about it.
EDIT: I would also like it if your LI would call you differently on the Normandy. Like for example if you romanced Cortez he would say "Thanks for checking in on me, honey" instead of "Thanks for checking in on me, commander" It would add a certain level of reality to the relationship. I doubt your loved one would call you "commander" or "Shepard" all the time, even on a military ship. Of course on missions they won't start giving each other those nicknames, but on the Normandy they could do that. This would add immersion and reality to the relationship.

Oh, and as someone else said I think all the character specific missions should be available for everyone with friend dialogue instead of romantic dialogues for friends but only LI joins your crew. I know it's really wishful thinking but it's nice wishful thinking so thanks for the thread OP.

After all, they said they're listening to the fandom, right? Lets make it happen.

I always felt the dating sim comparison to be a bit forced - at least in terms of Mass Effect. I remember initially at least that marketing and directing promoted the game to feel like a blockbuster movie in-a-game experience, and by following the typical Hollywood formula getting the girl or guy is part of that experience. The RPG element means that additionally you shouldn't just be shoe-horned into only the most convenient options. You can save the galaxy multiple times but it is the variety found in character interactions that would make the experience unique for the player.
Argeed. I play paragonish no matter what, so my replayability is in the character/ romance interactions. If all the romances were equally fleshed out I would replay a lot more.

nah, it's not fair, if femshep would have kaidan, garrus, vega and joker (3 team members and one of the most important non squad member characters) and male shep had only kaidan as a squad member and steve as a non squad member. at least one of them, either vega or joker, should be bisexual in my opinion.
Hang on, did you jsut say that femshep would have more LIs than manshep while only mentioning gay characters for manshep? let's not forget about Tali, Liara and co. while we're here, shall we?
Manshep romances (ME3 romances, ME2 romances coming back on, proposed romances):
Tali
Liara
Miranda
Kaiden
Ashley
Allers
Jack
Cortez
Kasumi
Kelly
Samara
Total: 11
Femshep romances (ME3 romances, ME2 romances coming back on, proposed romances):
Liara
Traynor
Kaiden
Garrus
Vega
Joker
Jacob
Thane
Allers
Zaeed
Kelly
Total: 11
Seems pretty even to me.

you cannot compare it this way...because straight men prefer straight romances and gay man prefer gay romances...so gay sheps would have still only two love interests...and it'd be not fair if there are two new male love interests, but none for male shep.
otherwise you could also add, lets say, tali and jack to female shepards...but no, you want to have male love interests, because fem shep has already more female choices than male choices. but if you add them, gay male shep has still only two, whereas straigth feme shep now gets 4 male characters.

I'm not quite sure I understand the rationale behind having Kaidan want loveinterest!Shepard to help save a girl he liked a long time ago (and who was scared of him), but overall this proposal is good.
Yeah, that one seems odd to me - it would work if the missions were accessible for all Shepards, regardless of romance status and a non-romanced Kaidan had reconnected with her, but a romanced Kaidan reaching out and coming to the rescue of this girl from his past...? Yeah, if it were my boyfriend bringing this up, I'd be a little uncomfortable with the situation, no matter how much I trust him. Maybe a better idea would be a rescue mission for one of his biotic recruits? Although that one would have some heavy similarities to the Grissom Academy rescue mission, so I'm not sure how to make it more of a unique mission...
