All were seeing is people tack to the wind. Now that more time has passed and it's:

A. obvious that the ending is viewed as a disaster by the majority of players.

and

B. That Bioware, and by extension their sockpuppet game site supporters, are being ridiculed by Blizzard, Notch, etc. for how monumental the fail is...

They're just jumping ship to get to the "majority belief" side. Just like with that reviewer who also changed opinions earlier today. (was in another thread don't remember the dudes name, someone help me out...)

I bet we'll see a lot more of this in the coming days/weeks.

Edit: Ha! Jim Sterling, was in the post below this one.

Deeply impressed, it takes guts to admit you were wrong. (Colin could learn a thing or too from her.)

Also like to add that the hate she is receiving is starting to make sick. It doesn't help our image to have people making personal insults against her.

I am noticing something, however she is not the only one.

Jim Sterling, who had several articles painting the Retake movement in less than favourable light released his latest video on the Escapist (The Jimquisition) and he is somewhat favourable to what the retake movement wants. He admits to prematurely overgeneralising the movement before, but now he thinks as a whole their complaints and requests are fair.

That was an appology? That looks more like an underhanded remark about her needing to be "better then us." Gosh... everything I see that has to do with her just makes me like her less and less.

That's pretty much all I took from it. That and being lumped in with the crazy people that physically threatened Hepler.

So did she actually beat the game and is being honest yet, or is she just trying to save face?

Save face. If she beats the game we'll probably get a

"that ending was a mind-blowing, deep, and perfect end to the series"

If she can even muster up the braincells to at least put that set of hyperboles together.

I was never in the 'hater' camp with Chobot, in fact I believe she's a huge victim of circumstance if anything (poor writing, unneccesary implementation/casting, and HORRIBLE 3d modeling), but those two blog entries (the deleted one and the apology one), just painted her as a total bimbo/idiot for me.

Btw she's also not worth the five different threads worth of bumps to the front page... (then again I guess I am contributing to that).

Attacks on a female BioWare employee....? Is she referring to that ridiculous thing with one of the Dragon Age writers?

She might be talking about Jessica Merizian... though I dunno if she was "attacked" as much as "constantly harrassed for any morsel of information about Bioware's master plan to indoctrinate us all."

The thing is, people hating her has nothing to do with the ending.

And I'm not sure what "attacks on a female" employee are; if she's referring to Jennifer, that's unrelated to anything dealing with Mass Effect.

I also don't know what petition she's speaking of (I've never signed a petition).

Anyway, forming negative opinions about something that has nothing to do with the reasons you say you've been hurt doesn't make much sense.

ASSUMING DIRECT CONTROL.

This. Not buying it.

She initially comes out on the same line as the rest of the Ignorant. Gaming. Nincompoops. and now claims to be soooo sorry for making blanket statements about a game that she in no way can be unbiased about.

Lies.

Her & Jim just realize they're really the minority so now they decide to jump ship and switch sides....

Btw, who cares?

Not that I'm above feeling entitled or being whiney during certain points in my life--like any flawed human being, I reckon--but I've never complained about day one DLC, Allers and Vega reveals, Cortez's sex scene, the space launch marketing, blonde or redhead Femshep, and I was disgusted by the Hepler treatment, etc., etc., and yet I hate the damn ending from Spacekid on. I don't expect it to be trashed and re-engineered, but I want it to be. Surely I'm not alone. Maybe you shouldn't lump us all in one group, Jessica?

She should apologize for that awful hoochie dress she was wearing in ME3.

Her steel nipples frightened me.

The art part is getting old.
Calling something art doesn't make it good or untouchable .
Anyway , i don't really have anything against her , i didn't even know her before Me3.
The press begins to make me sick , they're surfing on the event , creating a buzz as much as the so called "entitled " fans.
I mean , can they just do they bloody job , and give a proper review of mass effect and explain why the ending works or why it doesn't?
There's fan here on BSN and youtube that can come up with much better pros and cons that's the average press did...

We care because the retake movement is making an effort to appear mature and rational and not just a bunch of angry fans.  Since that mentality is apparently starting to cause some people to change their positions on the endings we want to reward them with positveness rather than reinforcing the image they had at the begining.

I'll keep my ears open for the whoopie cushion sound. I'm pretty sure I'll be able to hear it from my vantage point in the midwest.

agreed. The guy playing War in Darksiders may be a very cheesy performer who is far below DiMaggio or Hamill but he does not deserve personal attacks

on the other end she should get her facts straight about the endings before attacking the outraged fans

and even then her response would be moot point because she works for IGN

when it comes to the ME3 ending (and my work in progress with it).

Did anyone else notice this and thought this a bit of a hint that they might have been working on things for the ending for awhile? It wouldnt be wouldnt be continueing work on it if they were only planing things. She would only be working on it if she was doing more voice work for the game.

Hey Ms. Chobot, if you convince BioWare to add an option to airlock Diana Allers you are forgiven.

Indeed, insults and disparaging remarks about how she got her job are immature and stupid (and makes me wonder if similar remarks would be made were she male).

However, we're perfectly justified in calling her out for talking about things she knows nothing about.
Still, everyone deserves the benefit of the doubt. If she genuinely regrets blurting that out then everybody should leave it at that.

I see a lot of your posts and find myself nodding at most of them. ^_^

I also agree about the sexism thing (you didn't call it that I know). Jennifer Hepler, Jessica Merizan, Jessica Chobot. Notice a pattern? Yes, all their names begin with 'J', so does mine, but that's besides the point.

Casey Hudson, Mac Walters and Colin Moriarty have been ridiculed too but from the posts I've seen it always seemed to be less personal towards the males. Well, maybe Colin has got quite a bit of venom thrown at him...

Anyways, hopefully there will be less of it. They need to fix this ending just to stop the media from saying stupid things and to keep the human race sane at this point. :innocent:

Two things...
1) I don't think anybody should've personally attacked Chobot.
2) I find her "apology" to be rather back-handed.
