Guys, just give a her a break already. Our issue is the ending and not Chobot. Just kick Allers from Normandy if you hate her and be done with it. Bashing on the girl just becouse she is an easy target will not bring us anything good. Get back on track with the ending DLC pressure and stay civil.

It would have been better had she not said anything. This was a "I had a reason for my behavior" apology. She should have recused herself from the get go due to her involvement with the game. I'm not saying this to be mean, or to troll, but own up to what you did, don't make excuses for it. If you can't, then don't bother saying anything.

Who cares. This is all trivial. I don't know why people are even spending energy on this topic. (like me typing this for instance.)

When i read what she said yesterday my first reaction was well, that was an interesting choice. Not surprised she has backtracked. No problem with her as far as i'm concerned beyond the simple fact Biwoare should never put unqualified people into a poorly written role in the game for stunt purposes alone.

Why don't all the bioware hating guys just make their own forums at this point, it's got to be better than doing a post and ban approach you got going on here.

Not complaining against you guys or anything, but the boards being clogged with the same topic over and over again gets old after a while.

This is the BioWare fanbase.....if what you say happened these forums would go to just about completely empty with maybe a handful of people left. BioWare has very deeply insulted and hurt their fans with these endings....I cannot fathom how ANYONE on their dev team looked at that ending and thought it would be acceptable and Mac Walters with his "LOTS OF SPECULATION FROM EVERYONE" comment has really earned my wrath even if I don't express it a lot.

At this point this issue isn't likely to go anywhere untill it's resolved....let's see how good the DLC is and this community may yet recover somewhat.

It's only wrong because she is a public figure. Otherwise, it'd be justified '****** for tat' rebuttal based on what some of these people have said about her.

lol what has been said about her? She's a good looking woman but her character looked weird in the game and her voice acting was off.

There were also vitriol posts flat out saying that she must have fellated the staff at EA/BW to get her role in ME3. It's these kind of bs posts that really sour any kind of (very legit) criticism on her involement in ME3.

Man, there are a lot of petty people on the internet. I imagine she could apologize, absolve the entire world of their sins, and solve the euro debt crisis and there would still be people claiming she was the antichrist. She apologized, get over it and move on.

Though her VA was not up to par with the rest of the game you have become to expect, hell even over the course of 3 games we still sometimes argue who the better VA is between FemShep and MaleShep :P

I am glad to see an apology and explanation why she reacted as she did. With that explanation I can also understand why she said those things. Like all the people here on these forums we feel hurt badly by Bioware with the ending of Me3 and that causes alot of people to lash out and say things they later regret or did not mean to bring it in the way as it did.

Same goes for the other side at bioware, while most people try to be civil, the amount of bad mouthing and threatening DOES hurt on a personal level within the bioware employees.

Mabye if Allers(Jess) was implented better within the game, there might have been less of an problem.

Yet it remains a fact that within Mass Effect we already had 2 reporters that we met and communicated with.
It sounds strange to say this here, but I think it would have been cool if Allers would in someway been tied to Ms. Wong as a collegue/friend or other and that she joins you where ms. Wong could not.
Also would have been cool if that would be explored more with some dialog so 1. you learn about Ms. Wong and 2. You have an easier time accepting Allers on board.

This is all the apology you're going to get and more than you deserve. What did you want her to say? That this game was total crap and that she should never have worked on it? She doesnt believe that and neither do a lot of people so keep the "she should have..." for yourself. Jessica aint your b....

Whatever else her statement was it was honest and that's more than I can say of the PR sh* we get 99% of the time.

She apologized, and that's that. Personal attacks on Chobot are inexcusable, though -- yes, her character was boring, but that's hardly her fault; she can't act but that's true of loads of people, so it's the fault of whoever hired her. End of story.

hmm... except... if she did solve the euro debt crisis, I'd happily pretend she's a terrific VA. ;-)

Why were they insulting Jessica Chobot. Sure, she didn't add anything to the game at all (her performance was lacklustre to say the least) but she wasn't the cause of the problem.

While she is tainted by association with IGNorant I again am confused as to why she was a target.

No need to apologise. Nobody should have targetted YOU, Chobot. That said, there are some deserving of the IRE.

It would have been better if Bioware hadn't hired her trying to win over drooling fanboys.

Out of curiosity, how did these forums react to Felicia Day in the DA2 DLC? Did she catch the same level of flak as Jessica Chobot?

No, she did not.

It is unfortunate that such a pretty girl in real life is rendered so ugly in the game, don't you think?

I never heard of her before this either. I hate G4 and don't listen to online game magazine like IGN so i had to google her.

That's because Felicia Day actually did a good job. She added something to the mix. Chobot...notsomuch. I didn't mind anything about her except her voice. I mean, if you're going to be a VOICE actress, shouldn't you try to speak in a non-monotone manner? I didn't mind it that much that they killed off Emily Wong...but I just wished they got someone else to do the voice of Diana Allers.

That "girl" is over 30...I don't think it's accurate to call her a "girl" anymore. LOL!

Bashing her because you didn't like her character's role = A bad sense of logic and perspective

That's like egging Alan Rickman's house for playing Snape.

Or TP'ing every famous person's house who makes a cameo in a show for the purpose of making a cameo.

I had to go check it out for myself.  It is interesting to see how she feels so victimized. I am a feminist and damn proud of it and still.. she didn't make much sense.  A lot of her statements are valid, but seem unrelated to anything that is going on.

Honestly? I just think she hates criticism.

Her rants all seem to erupt from being surprised that someone would dare call her work terrible. Her performance was far below par and, quite honestly, I expected someone to have better sense than to hire a VA who spoke so flat and monotone.

It's criticism and if you produce anything that makes it to the public forum then you'd better be prepared to have people shred it to pieces if they have criticisms to make. She, clearly, wasn't prepared to handle any.
