I didn't even know she said anything apology worthy.

Wow. You guys had a ridiculous whine-fest over her comments that you were having a "ridiculous whine-fest."

It's far from the worst insult that has been levelled at retake. Extremely mild compared to some of the threads that have started about her. Good on her for the apology imo.

Anyway , i don't really have anything against her , i didn't even know her before Me3.

This.  I mean, I was aware that there was some woman out there who liked licking PSPs, but was totally unaware of her name or position.  Cool that she's apologised and all, but frankly I'm still a little butthurt about all the "entitled children" BS that she and so many others.

In the words of Commander Shepard; " Words mean nothing until you turn them into action, Chobot!"

I hope you take the time to research both side's point of view in the future!

That was very thoughtful of Chobot to apologize the way she did. Kudos to her for doing so!

Good for you Jessica, you won't find many people willing to come out and apologize. Especially since many in the community are bashing the character based on her. Regardless of the facts, you can't expect her not to get a little upset about people not liking Diana.

But you can't blame people either, I feel Diana was just a little too blatant.
A lesser role without a custom made model would've probably gone over far better. I've nothing against her, but she's just not an actress and shouldn't pretend to be.

I don't think she ever did. I am pretty sure when she signed on, she probably figured it'd be like a cutesy little cameo.

But a combination of poor implementation (which really begs the question why bother?), roasting of the Retake movement from her company, IGN, and the fact that there are thousands of pissed off fans right now vulturing over anything Bioware does wrong, kinda screwed her over. And I certainly feel really bad for her about that.

The last two blogs on the other hand (that horribly thoughtout and writtne apology included), lol. She just dumb. But once again, not her fault... not really.

Good on her for apologizing. Most people have had legitimate complaints about her role in the game, but I'm sure she's received a lot of personal attacks, which had to hurt (and I'm sure made it hard for her to keep her cool). It's certainly more than anyone else at IGN (cough**Colin**cough) has done.

Saw this response coming.  It's more convenient to say "trolling" than "pointing out obvious irony".

So did she actually beat the game and is being honest yet, or is she just trying to save face?

If I was a cynic I would say she is finding a way to get out of that particularly tight corner where people keep asking her if she has completed the game yet and if so does she understand the hate yet. By conflating the ending controversy with the criticisms directed specifically at her, then saying that "it's probably for the best if I just say nothing from now on and avoid the subject of ME altogether", she is dodging the bullet.

Interesting to see someone who loved, promoted and became an "ascended fangirl" of the ME series being driven to abandoning any connect with it whatsoever. The endings must have done something wrong after all, right?

Then again, who knew Jessica was also a synthetic life form and the Destroy ending affected RL as well?:wizard:

That made me laugh out loud. But seriously, I liked her voice acting. Allers was a long shot in terms of objectivity from Kalisa Al-Jiliani or whatever her name was.

So wait, because a few people "now consider games art" the fans no longer can voice their gripes about a game? Screw that noise. Video games can be considered toilet paper for all I care if this is the new attitude people are going to have about them.

Ok, fair enough, apology accepted.

And to be fair I think the flak she's getting for the voice acting, and some of the comments made, are out of line. Her voice acting wasn't great but...she's not a voice actor, and even so it's no reason for a lynch mob.

Having said that, her comments were out of line so the apology is welcomed.

I am still a little concerned how the gaming industry seems to view "art" though - it's very strange, they seem to have the complete opposite definition of what "art" is subject to than the rest of the world. Art is one of the most shifting concepts there is: in short, it changes all the time, is never truly completed and is retroactively altered on a regular basis.

Very odd.

Or, you know, trolling.
But apparently anything you don't agree with is "whining" right?

She stated Ealier that gamers were whiny and entitled. She came under attack, some statement were constructive, some sarcastic and others stright up mean. But when you talk crap you make yourself a target. Would be nice to stop making fun of one another and get back to the things we love which is video games.

I personally loved to champion BioWare!

I wish she hadn't deleted the original blog. It was terrible, and the criticism posted in the comments section was quite good.

I think she became the unlucky figurehead for IGN as a whole which has been producing an amazing amount of high horse bull**** and downright retarded articles.
Never understood the Allers hate, think the char worked out pretty ok in my opinon. Takes balls by Chobot, so kudos to her, for whatever that's worth.

IGN on the other hand.... another matter entirely.

I really don't think there was anything sinister about her being in the game, I think it was just Bioware saying "let's pick a gaming journalist as an in-joke that players will understand.".

Well sure, but Allers is still a very bad character. Should have been cut from the game.

For a second I thought even the game considered her a joke, seeing that she is worth 5 asset points, and I felt kinda bad for the actress. But that's only if you don't bother with the "interviews".

I didn't really hate Allers. If anything I took her onboard the Normandy and just ignored her for the rest of the game, other than the interviews. The only thing that I'm remotely mad over is the fact that since Bioware took the time to do all of this for a cameo, imagine the time they could have taken to actually add on stuff that we wanted.(For me, more detailed LI interaction)
