She shouldn't be getting attacked personally.  I may talk some **** about comments she's made, I already did about the art one.  I don't think she's a horrible person though, I just don't like her in the game or some of her opinions.

It's a fine line crisising a person or only what they said.

That's good. I wasn't really all that bothered either way by what she said (Because frankly I do think some of the reactions to the endings are overblown-see the FTC filing). but it's good she can admit when she goes too far.

It's a common tactic in PR and politics.  You grasp on the bat**** craziest example of a movement/party/religion/whatever and champion them as "see, they're all like this!!!".   It doesn't matter if that 1 dude is literally the only dude in that group who thinks/feels that way.  You can dismiss the whole group this way.  You see it through out history. 

So common, yet so much bs.

While I DO agree that gamers have a right no not enjoy the product and make their statements about it, I don't agree in the aggressive and hurtful manner in which it has happened, and that includes me shooting off at the mouth."

I don't think she is horrible person either, I have never attacked her personally ... hell I have always said her character model does not do her justice. This apology through leaves a sick feeling in my gut  -  like they just marched out in front  use... to  "Appease the savages with woman"   while the progenetors of the vitol towards those of the fan base who hate endings... go hide. 

and that bothers me deeply becuase that is what  this apology from her feels like.

I could care less she was in the game, I didn't even let her on board in my game! I had no idea who she was and probably still wouldn't if it wasn't for the terrible ending, and then her belittling the fans when she had a freaking cameo. Critics, like judges should recuse themselves when they have some conflict of interest.

So Jessica, next time. Please just recuse yourself.

I personally wish more women who knew the difference between their butt and a hole in the ground about gaming or geek culture could find work in gaming and geek journalism. As it is, the field is seemingly chock full of faux-geek women who cruise on sex appeal rather than providing genuine substance or insight.

The roots of this problem are so deep in society that change will take years.

It seems easier to start objectifying men as much. I don't mind it, if it is equal on both and neither takes the role as the default decorative gender.
