Miss Chobot was right on the nail and should have never retracted.

No. People were not disputing her FREEDOM to have an opinion. But she didn't look at the ending, so she doesn't even know about the very subject she's using to belittle people that don't like the ending. She is willing to take sides on the matter despite not understanding the other side's point of view.

And? So What? She made a mistake and will probably make lots more of them. The major problem here is that once somebody blows their lid and ****s up a lot of people start assuming it's alright for them to respond in kind. It's not. It never is.

Again we have the right to decide she is not an authoritative source because she complained about fans being "entitled" when she herself felt entitled enough to just spout whatever while incorporating no knowledge of the game's ending in her rant. People have the right to be angry, she's going to promote more problems for most of the fanbase when her post didn't have any credentials? We're sick of everyone playing the entitledment card. Having to hear it from someone who displayed a great sense of entitledment is not going to be met with happy responses.

Some unfortunate fans will take the opportunity to talk badly about how she looks, how she's a ****ty writer, how she ____.

Again all of these things are relevant to this position. Maybe not the quality of her appearance but the emphasis of her appearance over her writing. As for the quality, how do you call someone who is talking about something she knows nothing about a "good writer", particularly within the context of her profession as a journalist. These are important because all these things are as I'm sure others have and will continue to say impportant in forming her position as an authoritative source.

When you say things ilke:

So, rather than write out a HUMUNGO blog post full of
letters and **** that no one wants to actually read, I thought I would
do a pictoral update on everything that has happened within the last 3
or so months...(and "NO" I haven't finished ME3 yet. " NO" I haven't
sexed Diana Allers (although I plan to) and "NO" I don't want to know
anything more about the babsolutly RIDICULOUS whine-fest that entitled
gamers are having with Bioware)...

Humungo post full of "letters" and things no one wants to read? Y'know... :pinched:

I just wish people knew where to draw the line between criticism and insults.

But you DO have to tell her that her shaking her ass in front of the editor isn't a proper way to act,
To put more in depth content into her writing.
To stop finding fame as a "journalist" through "sexy" pictures.

These are all constructively critical ways to improve her authoritative position as a journalist.

I must say, "full of letters that no one wants to read" sounds quite awful coming from a journalist. Either she thinks her readers are idiots, or she really isn't a fan of the written word. Which is...pretty bad.

It's more than what her coworkers have offered. It was a stupid comment to make, but she actually admitted it.

Honestly, what I got out of that was "I'm taking down what I said, but you're all still self-entitled whiners".

When I reread it, what I got out of it was "The bosses say this wasn't a smart move considering we've already burned all of our credibility, so I'm taking it down, and you're all still self-entitled whiners".

It's all couched insults in there.

Pretty much yeah.  Technically written in black and white.

I have nothing but contempt for someone with very little talent who was shoed into a game franchise I love for no reason, who then proceeds to belittle and insult the fans because they have valid complaints about a game that she hasn't even played.

The fact that she realized how bad of a mistake she made when she got flooded by negative comments (both mature and ...not so mature) and then decided to release a vague PR statement aimed only at trying to place herself "above it all" instead of apologizing for joining the IGN fad of insulting people blindly does nothing to lessen my contempt for her.

Her voice acting was terrible, her character was poorly designed (ugly as well as dressed horribly, looked like a chipmunk in spandex) they "killed" a beloved character on TWITTER of all places to make room for her, and to top it all off she insults us and belittles us without even having played the game.

Sorry, but her apology is as empty and meaningless as her game character and the voice over work she provided for her.

^ Agreed. Worst voice actor in the series. A pointless addition to the game.

Like I said, I have nothing against Chobot. Well, I didn't, until she  ranted about "entitled" gamers before she had actually finished ME3.
Plus, I mean, "entitled"? From a person whose character- Allers-  is the blandest, unpunchable, unchallengeable, snide little journalist in any ME game? You can't talk about entitlement when you've scored a role in a
game that pretty much lets you be The Princess. A bit of a Mary Sue, to be honest.

tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/MarySue

But all that aside. I do think BioWare dropped the ball on this Who were they trying to please? Gamers that'd played ME1 and ME2 would have preferred this role taken by Wong- Khalisa Al-Jilani could easily have
gone out heroically via Twitter. Then we'd even feel a bit guilty over punching her. Just as much emotional depth, if not more.

I'd even say that Allers' character seems written to be ANNOYING. In every way. When the player doesn't show love to her at all times, the game tries to make you feel bad!

1. Can I join your ship?
Yes- I'll get my things.
No- Well, good LUCK getting SYMPATHY without ME, hah!

2. Can I stay?
Yes- Cool. [no thanks or gratefulness]
No- Well, YOU'VE got ANGER MANAGEMENT, so I'm LEAVING. Can't touch me!

3. Want to b*ne?
Yes- Cool.
no- Well, YOUR loss. *skips away unconcered*

It's like they were trying to make a character as annoying as possible.

LOL. She's butt hurt that no one wanted her in the game.

Now she won't even stand by her convictions. Typical IGN.

Sarcasm Warning:

Tell me about it.
I wonder how entitled she feels?

Seems that those who hate the ending and the cuts that have been made are once again seen as entitled rather than consumers demanding the product that they were sold.  I mean, what right do we have to ask for the product we wanted?  Its not like the non elite masses have a right to question the 70+ "perfect scores" the game has recieved by critics and such highly acredited companies like IGN and top notch editors like Chobot.

I guess the reviewers and video game industry people are right.  We are entitled.  Entitled to the product we wanted. Not what we have.

End Sarcasm

She's acting entitled to the point that she's acting like it's not important to do research for her job, as if she doesn't have to do her job. Then she complains about fans being "entitled". She can "apologize" all she wants, but frankly until she backs that up with actions, it just seems like she's sorry she got caught, rather than actually being sorry.

Disliking (or in some people's cases, hating) one specific person for a valid reason does not mean they hate that person's entire gender.
