Do not be upset she referenced you the customers of Bioware. I am in the party that the endings were not good and since ME1 they have went away from the formula that made ME1 such a big hit imo, but that is not the point here.

Jessica Chobot's motivations are to push herself more into mainstream and increase her fame which in turn makes her more money and you cant blame her for that at least in the US. Her company is in it to make money and they advertise for anyone who can afford to pay.

Why would anyone be surprised or feel bad about what she has to say about "entitled bratz" or anyone for that matter?

She is just doing her job, she can only say things publicly that are approved by IGN because they sign her paycheck.

If she's going to play that card for pity she can at least finish the game.

Um, no. Sirtis wasn't awful in a hammy sort of way. Sirtis was awful in that she somehow managed, despite being an established "actress" to deliver almost every line with even more woodenness than Chobot managed.

That's far more unforgivable than some non-actress cameo who's not part of the main story, I think. She couldn't even be bothered to put in a proper acting performance. Yet where's the hate?

In honesty, she's making bad career choices.

1.)  As douchey as this sounds, she's probably lost a lot of followers over the next year by announcing that she's married and off the market.
2.)  She alienated a portion of her following by resorting to name calling.  Due to point #1, she's less likely to be forgiven.

Just saying - we all somewhat know how the entertainment industry works

It's like my girlfriend doing the bartending thing.  She and I both know, the minute she tells them she's not available is the minute the tips drop off.  I pick her up at night and I'm her "Friend's brother" if anyone asks lol.

(I make a decent chunk of change at work, but on a per hour basis, she kills me two to thee fold depending on the day of the week)


Now back to IGN....

In my case, I never knew of Ms Chobot or anyone at IGN before she ended up in ME:3.  I've seen their reviews and have read/watched a little of their stuff... and I have to say - they kind of suck at it...  Not terribly, but it's all so wooden.

The production value is pretty good, but then again they have a budget to make it so.  I just can't get my mind off the fact that they all seem like they're reading cue cards and have no clue about what they are talking about.


I follow the gents at GiantBomb.  They don't flood their site with reviews for everything, but they do cover a lot and you can tell it's all from actual experience.  As and example, they rated ME:3 an 8/10 if I recall correctly.  I agree with this rating.  The game was good, but not great.  A solid 8 is nothing to be ashamed of either.

I think the reason why it was taken down falls under a legal matter. She works for IGN and if there isn't a disclaimer present saying "...these views do not match...etc." then someone @ Bioware could've sued. I also bet she got in trouble for it...when you're in the spot light (especially journalism) you pretty much lose all rights to giving your true personal opinion (unless it's an unbiased review) because if it's biased in even a fraction of a percent then the media can run with it or someone can file a lawsuit.

We must figure out wich performance sucked the most!

One of the more pressing issues of our time.

But it did seem to me that Chobot was "phoning it in" at times. But like others have said it's not entirely her fault.
I mean some of responsibility lies with VO management.

Point is that people who say their burning hatred is because of her VO performance are liars, since they don't pay attention to the even worse performances from others. It's just because "it's Chobot". And we're meant to hate Chobot for some reason, despite me never hearing about her before, knowing who she is, or caring for one second.

Just sayin'.

Complaining about something someone said about complainers hardly is productive. She has her opinion, you all have yours.

Kind of what this whole thing is about, right?

She formed her opinion on the behavior of a section of the RTE/Anti-Enders. Which, she isn't entirely wrong in her opinion. But that's saved for those who act this way.

So saying whether or not she's right or wrong in retracting her statement doesn't make what she said any less true or whatnot. She still stands by what she said, she just can't say it publicly. Dwelling on it seems to make no sense.

I tried to shine a little more positive light on both chobot and the retake movement and except for a few ridiculous post I think the thread aint complealty boinkers yet 

i think most sencible people get the point of the thread very well.
to try and be a little more constructive in critisisms instead of personall attacks
and to not generalize peoples character by assosiation with others for simply sharing an opinion.

and those here attacking her spend 3 hours a day wiping sweaty green putty from massive folds of flab every morning.
