However, I recently used a combination of shortbows and longbows on my characters and I couldn't tell the difference at all in terms of rate of fire. The longbows seemed to fire off just as quickly as the shortbows. Or are they actually different in fire rates but my eye simply doesn't notice?
Additionally, it's safe to say what rapid aim does is fairly self explanatory. Is there a difference between how rapid aim applies to longbows and shortbows? I also have been unable to notice a difference in firing rate, but this time, in terms of how the modifier applies to the base weapon. Rapid fire shortbows and longbows seem the same to me.

Shortbows seem faster to me , makes sense too since its lower dmg on them so it evens out

The have different rates of fire. The aim time for longbows is longer.

How about the effect of rapid aim on each of these? Is a rapid aim shortbow still faster than a rapid aim longbow?

I would assume so, but I haven't checked the combat scripts to verify. I'll look into it...
