I have a doubt: 40 bucks = 40$ or 40€?
Pleas tell me i m wrong.
No you are not wrong.
...well then...O Kheela if i was a Quorian.
Thank you for the answer
To the OP:
How did you let this happend, you let your self get into a slot machine system and go too far with it. Perhaps you ashamed now or try to justify it, if i where you i will accept the error and learn from it. Regardless of what we think of spending money on those packs you have show a BIG tendence to adiction on this type of systems and should be well aware from now on.
Sorry if i sound ruthless but i m trying to help.
A little recomendation:
Stay away form casinos and never ever get close to Las Vegas.

im a level 150ish and i dont have any more patience for it. i only NEEDED 2 things from the packs to fulfill my MP experience. the asari adept, and the carnafax. im sick of the human adept and the phalanx.
i got the asari adept with my last chance on my first $20. so i thought "here we go!" unfortunately, i was being teased.

Lol why the hell would you pay for something you can farm in game lol
5+hours farming white on gold against geth = 1 hour real life work
It is absolutely morally detestable that you think its better to waste your life playing a game solely for the in game credits when you can achieve the same with a fraction of that time spent in the real world. You are whats wrong with gaming.

EDIT:
This is what i do and like to think goes for most people who play:
I play for FUN, and when ever i have the in-game credits i buy the packs, i do NOT play to get those credits or play more just to get them faster.

I'm sure most well adjusted people share your point of view but my comment was directed towards the group who think its bad to buy credits with cash while they are farming geth with 4 quarians or use the wave 10 glitch for hours on end.Zubi Fett wrote...

Spend $400, that would be equivalent of 70 hours of gameplay or two working weeks. Most people earn far more than $6 per hour, so you would be smart to do that instead of grinding.

Granted, I've bought maybe 20 by now with credits, and gotten very lucky... but out of the three I struck it rich on, the others weren't worth it.
Imo, spend real money on vet packs (more bang for your buck). Or don't spend real money at all.

The fact of the matter is quite simple - if someone has the desire/ability to use their own hard earned cash, good luck to them. Personally, I consider it much 'sadder' to spend endless hours farming credits on the same game type, against the same enemy, on the same map, with the same characters. If you can afford to spend/waste hours and hours of your life doing that, what's your problem with someone spending/wasting their own money? I've got a damn sight more money, than time, anyway. If you have a problem with that (terrible thing, envy), then why don't you go and spend another 6 hours farming Silver/Gold. I'll do an hours work (or less, tbh) in RL and reap the same rewards as you.
@OP: That's damn unlucky from 40 bucks man, I've spent something like 60 myself and have a Carnifex III (amongst other things I wanted) - just luck of the draw I guess.

guys, i know its dumb to spend money on this kind of thing. i knew ahead fo time that i might end up spending 40 bucks to buy one gun. but, that was all the microsoft points i had left over that ill never spend on anything anyways (except maybe ME3s DLC). it was essentially free to me at this point anyways. i figure ive wasted $40 on meaningless things before, so why not on one of the things i do care about.
i did get the revenant from level 1 to level 2 tho, so theres that.
so none of you guys, not even once, payed 160 points for that damn spectre pack???
if you got those M$ points for free, then it was totally free to you. if you paid, then it's not free, point, blank and period.
i wouldn't spend 1 M$ point, despite having a free 100 sitting on my account, on any kind of random pack of video game items when i can get the very same thing for free.

$40 is only what, 20 packs? That's roughly the equivalent of 7 hours of gameplay. You have to spend more than that to get what you want.

Is it laughable to spend 40 bucks on pack of in game items that has a small chance of including an item you want while you can get the same result investing 20 to 30 minutes of doing what you already want to do (playing it)?
Spare money or not - yes, it is laughable.
Is it laughable to make a thread about how sad you are because your game of chance didn't show up to be a jackpot? Yes, it is. And if I please, I will laugh about it. And my laughter has just as much place on this forum as the opening poster's sadness.
You're basically defending a hypotetical gambler who happened to invest 40 bucks on a slot machine and got nothing. I just swapped the game. I participate in microtransactions, I buy items for games. I'm not going to spend money to get a slight chance at getting what I want, and most certainly, I won't tell everyone around me that it turned out bad.
OP asked to be laughed at, OP got laughed at and that's it. Of course he wouldn't get laughed at that much if he'd just say that he spent his spare microsoft points that would never go anywhere in the first place. Move along with your stories of how people are envious of you master race hard working people.

but its even worst, for example BF3 is now selling shortcuts by class but on that case you know what you'll get, now me3 case you're paying and its random, you'll end wasting money for getting ****ty weapons and perhaps matter of luck getting something good, but the odds of getting something worth is slim.

40 dollars spent on packs at the menu = 8+ hours of video games
It is absolutely morally detestable that you think its better to waste your money buying randomized video game packs solely to avoid actually playing the video game when you can achieve the same by spending time and having fun playing the actual game. You are whats wrong with gaming.
guess which one makes sense, and guess which one is the one people will point and laugh at, following it up with 100% deserved questioning of, but not limited to the following: your age, your intelligence, your general awareness and which chemical influence you are under to legitimately believe that what you are saying is even remotely correct or justified.
edit - i sincerely doubt your judgement and reasoning skills (given that spectacular quote), so i'll just tell you that the statement that will have people laughing to the point of agony is yours.
