We recently downloaded the feast day gifts and all the other extras. Now our games freeze in the loading screen. Is anyone else having this problem? Is it related to the recent update that every one is having a problem with?

Hello all, The 1.04 title update has experienced some sort of incompatibility with Xbox 360 Slim and some Xbox 360 Elite systems. Currently, it has been rolled back, so we currently recommend re-updating to the 1.03 title update currently present on Xbox LIVE.



Please be warned, however, that save games created while the 1.04 title update was in effect may not load properly.



We're working very closely with Microsoft and will re-deploy the 1.04 title update when we have the issues with the Xbox 360 Slim and Elite systems resolved.

By the way, Victor, in the limited time I've had to enjoy the game I have to say that your voice talent's English accents are pretty phoney! I'd guess that most of them are American actors attempting The Queen's English. Give me a call next time - I'll provide you with the genuine article (heh heh)

Yeah, man that Tim Curry. Such a fake English accent! And Steve Valentine, yeah next time we'll go with actors that originally came from the UK and area in the first place.

Any news on the new Xbox fix? Can I try the game again yet?

WOW, I was having a blast playing this game right up to the point that the game would lock up trying to kill the Archdemon. I have tried for two nights now and about 10 minutes into the battle i get a still picture. So this seams to be really common?! I am with the fellow earlier who was kinda ticked off. i play a X Box 360, and this is the only game i have ever had issues with. What gives? i have all the patches and have bought the add on Awakenings, but is it worth the time to play if you can never finish?

my game freezes when being in ozamar(you know which place) and after you found the anvil of asunder, you cross the bridge.. and bam.. hangs happened 6 times.. trying it again know... but it's really annoying...

I also had the problem a bit further when being attacked by the queen spider, and alot of spiders...

ohw and I have a 2008 model elite with the falcon chip.

EDIT.. I sorta solved the problem(doesn't work all the time) I hold the party way back... and I will try to lure the monsters towards the party in small groups.. in this way I have fareless spells/arrows etc going around, and then the game doesn't freeze..

 I love the fact that a **** load of people seem to be affected (mine freezes during archdeamon fight, every fricking time!), but Bioware answered one person, saying the problem he had would be fixed. What about the rest of us? Have we payed quite a lot of cash for a game we cannot, ever, see the end of? F*cking brilliant.

Is there anyway to get compensated, like getting a new game, from Bioware?

i am having the exact same problem i even killed the archdemon but it frooze just before cutscene, i have now attempted this about 10+ times now and its always crashed. it is really annoying espically since its near the end of the game. I have even tried deleting updates then re updating but it hasnt changed anything.

ps i am using a new copy of the game (ultimate edition) brought it about a week ago aswell

Hey all, I'm new to Dragon Age and am completely addicted to it! reading that I'm not the only one having the freezing issues has kinda cheered me up but hasn't solved the problem. I'm fighting the Generals and no matter which one I choose they die and the game freezes. I've done the install, delete cache thing and still the same problem!



There must be something that can be done!

Well mine freezes up during the last battle in denerim in the alien lineage. Guess i will skip killing the generals and try the archdemon? Hope it doesn't freeze. Going to be really mad if it does.

I've been playing the game for 70+ hours and am in the final battle with the Archdemon. After having the game freeze on me numerous times mid-battle, I finally got to kill the Archdemon - only to have the game freeze immediately after the death of the Archdemon.  I probably attempted this at least ten times.

I would never have imagined this issue be an actual unfixed bug, but it appears that is the case.  I even went out and bought a second copy of the game (DA:O) to make sure it wasn't my disc.  Once again, I beat the Archdemon, and the game immediately froze.  I have reproduced this problem twice on the new disc.  

I have also tried playing from both discs as well as installed to the HD.  The game freezes regularly in the last battle.

I am attempting to finish this so I can port my character to DA:A.  I cannot believe that this game is freezing in the final, epic battle.  There has got to be some sort of fix or workaround.  This is ridiculous. 

PLEASE ADVISE.  Thank you.

I've never had a game actually bring the Xbox 360 to a full-on freeze so bad that it requires a hard reset, and certainly never over, and over, and over again.

I'm having the same problem dj, kinda. I've had this game for year now, beat it on my previous (1st generation xbox) with no problems. Well that crap xbox broke (for the 5th time), to an unrepairable state. So I bought the new xbox slim, the game has sat in a case for months, it's still in mint condition, and it constantly freezes on my old characters. Trying a new character right now, but I'm not holding my breathe, and I was gonna get awakenings and all the DLC that has came out. o well.

I'm having the same problem. I bought the Ultimate Edition for the 360 even though I had the PS3 version of the original game since it was on sale a few weeks ago.



Anyway, I've had freezing three times now

- game froze after DA:O epilogue, luckily it created the save file

- once during Awakening on some farm (forgot the name)



Are they still planning on fixing this?

- once during Golems of Amgarrak at the final battle

Constantly freezes on the new character as well. I really wanted to play the DLCs (now playing off line, without the patches). Any word on the DLCs ever coming to disc? Seems like the only way I'll be able to play them anytime soon (by the way, my DLCs are corrupted! yay! now I can't re-download them either, being a different xbox...well with the patch it works again i think, but then i get freezes)

Seems like they don't care anymore, or just gave up, the problems still exist, and the last, no word from BW on this topic since 6 months ago, so I'm assuming that the xbox slim isn't compatable with this game (someone should make a list...)

Yes, I'm sure no one cares at this point, as evidenced by the lack of real response to this thread and, more tellingly, the continued existence of this problem without redress.  Can I expect the same baloney from the copy of Dragon Age II I've had on pre-order for however long?  Should I just go ahead and cancel it now and save myself the headache?

I've found at least three separate threads addressing this crash, across platforms, on the Bioware boards. This is obviously not an isolated problem, or a fluke. So my question now is whether or not there is any point to continue to try to play through this battle. In other words, is there anyone out there who had experienced this crash and, through diligence, found they were able to finally get the game to not freeze. I've probably attempted this myself nearly 15 times, on two different discs, so I'm ready to give up and call this game fundamentally flawed, but perhaps there's still hope. Anyone?
