This is painful to read, we were outright lied to.

Yep.

They lied to us and have not said anything about it.

Hopefully someone calls them out at PAX.

Bioware just seemed so genuine when they were saying months ago about all the awesome things they were gonna do in ME3.

And then we get ... well ... this.

If the DLC coming out soon still causes the ending to be as unsatisfying as it currently is, I genuinely might sell my copy of ME3.

They were right about Javik, though - he really is inconsequential - to the ending. But apparently so are all the other squadmates and races. I would have rather gone down in a blaze of glory than racked up an EMS high enough just to keep the crucible intact long enough for a light bulb to go off in the Catalyst's head.

*looks at what we were promised. Looks at what we got.* Now this is just ridiculous Bioware..

I remember that issue... I think I still have it somewhere.
That was what got me so stoked over ME3. Hearing all those promises and what they had in store for us....

But then ME3 came out. Yeah it was still really awesome as a whole but... damn... Makes me wonder who thought it would be a good idea to take everything that was promised and just give us the exact opposite.

This is why we shouldn't listen to Marketing hype. Remember "17 different endings"?

There weren't just the lies in that magazine, there were plenty more. Go to the thread in my sig, as well as my post on the last page (18 atm). It will make you sick.

I apologize if this was already posted, but did anyone see this quote from a Game Informer interview dated January 10, 2012??

". . .This story arc is coming to an end with this game. That means the endings can be a lot more different. At this point we’re taking into account so many decisions that you’ve made as a player and reflecting a lot of that stuff. It’s not even in any way like the traditional game endings, where you can say how many endings there are or whether you got ending A, B, or C."

It is sad that they were lying so much...for so long...and yet they still pretend that their "ending" was just misunderstood.  I wonder if all liars should go with a defense of, "You just misunderstood me."   It might work, especially if they wait a few months to "clarify" things.

Why did Hudson go around saying things like this? Seriously. I LIKED the ending and I think Casey was the worst possible pitchman in the history of pitches.

You can't sell it... no one will buy it.  You can't play the game without a code to register in origin.  So, unless you sell your whole ea/origin account, you can't sell the game.

If I didn't enjoy the multiplayer I would have tried to return my copy.

They just don't care.
This whole fiasco has highlighted a problem that's existed in the games industry for years.
Wild claims and promises that are never backed up.
We've taken it for years from people like Peter Molyneux and never done anything more than pat him on the head and pity him for his visions that never come to pass.

Look at how Game Informer itself  never remembered, and never called BioWare out on their lies.
If anything good comes out of this mess, I hope that future developers learn that they cannot mess around with their fanbase like this.

This is OT, but the Witcher's "endings" (end states) were based on direct decisions you made, not how much you scoured the landscape for resources.  They weren't based on whether you skipped sidequests, and have ramifications to the future of the Witcher world.  My only question I had at the end of TW2 was "Ok, what's going to happen next?", not "What just happened here?" or "Why didn't I get to choose what to say and do during the final minutes of the game?"

And most importantly, after discovering that the game bifurcates itself so incrediby well (X360 people, you are in for a treat), I don't feel like I've been lied to.  Whereas with ME3...

These are not lies, they're potential truths!

It's not mentioned anywhere in those interviews how much the full game with the story that makes sense is going to cost!
