They didn't find a long lost Reaper off button. They built one and it required a lot of sacrifice to use it.
That you can say this without sarcasm worries me.

But it's totally different. In one you find it. In the other you only find the plans. You still have to make it which is really hard. Your decisions make it. If you don't decide on stuff it won't get made!

It does make me wonder just what version of Mass Effect 3 did we get compared to the one they made/played and when are they releasing the actual game?
My theory, the BioWare Mass Effect 3 developers and staff were indoctrinated by EA. It’s the only reasonable explanation why we went from what sounded like a decent game to this crap, especially with the ending we got.

So... So they knew EXACTLY what we wanted... And went on record telling us that that was what we were going to be paying (in my case 85 dollars) for... And then gave us the exact opposite of that?!
But they focused pretty much all of their slipup ray on the ending! The most vital, important part! The reason you play ANY of the games!
Just... Grrrrrr... May 1000 origami cranes descend upon your house, BioWare. 1000 cute, red green and blue origami cranes.

Uh huh. They did that and got the firestorm that came with the ending debacle, Tali photoshop pic debacle, and the broken fan/consumer trust and confidence they once had.

"Hey guys, things didn't turn out as planned, short version: We're sorry"
instead of
"Hey guys, the critics loved it, but since you can't figure this art crap out, we'll try to throw you a bone here soon, okay?"

1. Bioware lied.
2. Developers can change ideas any time, so please ignore our previews and interviews.

Did they really imagine they'd get away with it unscathed?

I'm pretty sure they thought "nobody will check the game files!"
