It has to be a world worth saving… I think Mass Effect has that quality to it. If you get rid of the Reapers and win that, wouldn’t it be amazing to just live on the Citadel or just take a ship to Omega? That makes sense.”

This has been quoted several times on this thread already.  It deserves to be quoted several hundred times more.

Oh dear. What's the date on this magazine? [EDIT: May 2011] Could they really still not have written the overall story at that point? I guess it makes sense - the various alliance building missions and story are great, and the Crucible parts are dopey. Maybe the dopey parts were all written much later on.

One thing I found strange is that the article describes both the Tuchanka and Ranncoch sections as  being more or less the same as they are now, and they are widely considered the best parts of the game. This makes me wonder; were they flailing about for an entire year trying to come up with an ending?

They were clearly writing the ending for a movie...not a video game. That ending would have been too video-gamey and not Box Office Dynamite!

So... Casey Hudson clearly used to understand. What in the world went on at Bioware in the past year?

Someone ASSUMED DIRECT CONTROL of his common sense, intelligence, and free will?

...with money.

Well, they told the truth, no buttons. They gave us a joy buzzer, a pipe, and a whole hole.

And, well, you ARE kinda chilling on the citadel as it crashes to Earth.

Actually, clarification question: All the other quotes in the OP have something like "Casey said" or something like that, but the last one doesn't. Is that a quote from Casey, or just the article's author expressing their opinion?

Not that the quote is less maddening either way, but it really wants to make me beat my head against the wall if one of the devs said this.

So i'm guessing that Harbinger assumed direct control of hudson whenever he told the devs what to make?

The BEYOND THE TRILOGY part makes me sad. I wanted to save that universe, BioWare, but you didnt let me. I wanted to live on the Citadel, have lil' blue babies, kick ass on Omega, but you didn't let me, not even in my imagination.

Everything was just a lie.

This has to be Charlie Foxtrot, Cluster Fluck of Coligian proportions.

There is PR and then there is straight up lying.

I don't care about site rules but Casey Hudson... lied. Period.

He lied and then Bioware has the audacity to trying to tell me and others that we are just to stupid to get the endings....

No words right now.. none.

Does anyone else feel kind of like they got punched in the gut right now? You know, the feelings were waning, but now it's all back in full. I just feel... used.

BioWare, if you're watching, stuff like this is why we feel so strongly. This is why we feel betrayed. Is it an overreaction to want what we were promised?

aaaannnd... people keep defending Casey saying that ME was his baby.
Imagine this: if what happen now is any indicator of how he treat his baby, how would he treat anyone else's baby ???? would you want to get THAT ??

personally, im tired of all his non truth.

No, it was Casey who said it.

But I guess when they decided not to make an MMO, they were free to blow the world apart.
