Oh dear. What's the date on this magazine? [EDIT: May 2011] Could they really still not have written the overall story at that point? I guess it makes sense - the various alliance building missions and story are great, and the Crucible parts are dopey. Maybe the dopey parts were all written much later on.
One thing I found strange is that the article describes both the Tuchanka and Ranncoch sections as being more or less the same as they are now, and they are widely considered the best parts of the game. This makes me wonder; were they flailing about for an entire year trying to come up with an ending?
I am guessing that they realized it was too ambitious and EA wanted BioWare to release it no later than March, so they gave up and made the game far more linear with only paragon and rengade dialogue choices and three endings. Either that or Casey Hudson is a cumpolsive lier.
