Even though it is very disapointing that a lot of what was said turned out to not be true I think it is a bit far to call them lies. This was still with a long time left in the development cycle. Things probably changed in their minds, although I can't say for the better.
They should have reviewed their statements first before agreeing to have it qouted.

I was trying to find my copy too a while back & couldn't. Wasn't there something about playing multiple characters? It had a list of squadmates that were playable Ashley, Garrus, Vega ect. I thought that was a great idea & was really bummed that it didn't make it into the game.
You're bummed about that?
I thought that an ending would be a great idea and was really bummed that one didn't make it into the game.
Apparently, lying to the fanbase has become a BioWare M.O. Oh, how the mighty have fallen...

SURPRISE!
There was a Reaper off button!
Thats actually the new ending DLC. After you wake up from indoctrination you finally make it to the conduit to be lead into a giant room with one giant red button. It says off. You have a discussion as to whether you should push it. Pictures of your squadmates fly through your head, Wrex holds a painting for artistic integrity. End Scene......

If you can't call this bad writing I don't know what else you can call it. Imagine shoot this pipe and every Reaper will die? What the hell, the Destiny Ascension or any Alliance warship could have just destroyed the Citadel the moment Shepard knew it was.

From a section entitled THE PLAN:
“In Mass Effect 3, you know you need to take back Earth, but the path to victory is less clear at the outset. You won’t just find some long-lost Reaper “off” button; says Hudson”
"BioWare stated it would not be resolved by uncovering some long-lost Reaper “off” button. Good stuff; ending with a silly macguffin would not be the way to do it. So, instead, Mass Effect 3 has Shepard look under the couch to find some IKEA assembly instructions for a dick-shaped superweapon that, when activated, will function as a long-lost Reaper “off” button. God dammit." -- PC Powerplay Review
That aside, ME3 was very linear in my opinion. I guess I got spoiled from being able to choose which priority missions I wanted to do first and in what order from ME2's recruit & loyalty missions.

C'mon, let's give them until the end of day Friday. I'm unhappy too, I hated the ending as well, but whatever mistakes they've made, whatever untruths they've said, we just don't know the reasons, we don't know a lot of things.. but they still can fix this. Let's try and hold off the anger and see what they say at Pax. Give them a chance, it's less than a week. Given how good the other 99.9% of the ME series is, they deserve THAT much at least.
Wait and see. 4 days. it's not that far off.
And the Pax PAX reigned in the forums?

"Oh that? Its nothing, just a closet. Just don't go shooting any pipes in there though, you might just instantly destroy all synthetics in the galaxy and cause all the mass relays to explode."
"Oh...."
Thank you for this, made me lol irl and easier to take the other spoonfull of bitter.

Don't reviews look back at their previews and tally up what survived and what didn't? Does GameInformer not have the ability or desire to call back what they published and compare it to what was delivered? They are so wrapped up in defending BioWare's artistic integrity that they let slip their own journalistic reputation.

It sure would have been interesting to be a fly on the wall during ME3's development.
I wonder if Casey's various statements were ever true at any point, or if he was just making junk up for press releases.
It all boils down to money baby! It doesn't matter if they played with our emotions as long as they get bonuses and stuff it doesn't matter, shame.
You're probably right. The thing is, I don't have any problem with them making money. The company that I work for makes money too and I'm glad that it does. But we're building our business, and our product. You don't do that by jerking people around...unless you're really short-sighted.

No one else notice that Game Informer not only never called out Hudson for these lies but also gave Mass Effect 3 a 10/10?
Hence why I take 10/10 reviews with a huge mountain of salt.
