There SHOULD NOT be any more homosexual love interests.

Well for Kaiden people are saying he was always seemingly bisexual so I won't comment on him.nopantsisabela wrote...

So you're saying that the game is flawed in one way so they should just make it even more flawed? I agree it's pretty ridiculous how many people Shepard can romance(but at the same time, he does save the galaxy...)nopantsisabela wrote...

Unless they are other characters.
The fact of the matter is, not everyone is gay. Not everyone on the ship should be gay. A homosexaul maleshep should NOT be able to romance Garrus.
edit: I'm not saying you can romance Garrus, I'm saying that it's stupid to think you should be able to.
2nd edit: I'm not saying that ME3 has a outrageous amount of homosexuals either. I'm saying that people who think more squadmates should become homosexual for them are wrong.
Not everyone on the ship would throw themselves at you either. But they do; most of your companions can be romanced. Are people really like that in real life? NO. It's a game mechanic so that we all can do what we want. Same for the gay characters. Your title is appalling. You should probably change it, unless you're just trolling for "don't be a jerky homophobe" lectures.
I didn't say the system was flawed. I said, it is slightly unrealistic due to the need to provide us with choices. It's also unrealistic that you can pick your eyecolor, gender, and whether or not you have biotics. But I don't hear you complaining about those things. I'm a straight girl. I romanced Kaidan. Yeah it's a little odd for me to think of him having a gay relationship, but that's because I've always thought of him as straight because he's in MY story. But I recognize that other people (maleSheps) deserve to be able to romance him if they like him. It's THEIR story too.
But for someone like Garrus for example who has previously given absolutely zero hints of being bisexual(and even discusses his heterosexual relationships with you) to randomly decide he likes men would be stupid. For a series that concentrates so heavily on characters it would be dumb to have a change like that.

This is the thing I don't get about the whole "Kaidan shouldn't be gay!" brigade. His sexuality is linked to YOUR story. So if you play as a straight female and romance Kaidan - he's straight in your story. And to be honest, the fact that Kaidan doesn't romance mShep until the third game makes the bi/gay Kaidan storyline so different it's a different character and story altogether.
There seems to be this weird notion that the characters are set in stone. But they are guided by the story they are in.
I really noticed this watching my flatmate playing femShep in ME3 and talking to Kaidan. In that version, Kaidan came across as kind of whiny and weak next to femShep. But in my playthrough, he was competent, intelligent and very much mShep's equal. Conversations with him had a very different tone and feel to them.
Because, as you say, in MY story he was a different character.
They both work. It just seems to me that some people have trouble separating their story from others.
Agree. Glad to meet a soul who thinks in kind.

Sure, they can want him. Doesn't mean he should become bisexual for them. TBH a scene where he tells a homosexual shep that he isn't interested would be pretty interesting.

What this series needs is a dose of polyamory. Where's the ME version of Isabela??
Got to temper that with some polyandry and make it equal now. Straight ladies I got your back
Wouldn't THAT get Fox in an uproar, eh! *lol*
In fairness though, polyandry is the complement of polygamy. Polyamory is perpendicular to both. (I suppose asexuality would be too).
Still, I know if you get a love triangle going, you do get a chance to suggest a triad.. pity none of the potential LIs will go for it (except maybe Liara, but without a third, we'll never know)

I agree. I think being gay would be out of character for him. I liked that Tali and Garrus stayed the same.
Lol@ at the awkward conversation. Reminds me of the time I hit on Joker and he friend zoned me.

Actually i remember garrus saying he WASNT attracted to humans at all. That is even worse than never giving any clues.

For ME3... it's strange that some know character can become gay but .... well, it's optional, but i find it more "easy" to accept if it's done from the begining, not 4 year later.

garrus wasnt humansexual in ME1,but they forced him to become humansexual in ME2 and 3 so bioware did change his sexuality because of what some people wanted from him.

You see OP, the kind of game Bioware do is actualy shaping the experience from your choice, so, making a wide range of character "possibly gay" is okay as long as it is well made and we don't feel they are all gay.

Yes. I think most of us can agree that we wish BW had grown a pair of bollocks about this 4 year ago. I think they did ok with it though considering they only now implemented s/s relationships.

GARUS DOSENT LIKE HUMANS IN ME1. This is like making a character a zoophile because of fan request, you forced him to enjoy an entire diferent species because you wanted him to. That is changing a character sexuality because of fan request.

Of course it's important to those in the relationship, but it is nobody else's business, and that's what people need to stop focusing on.
