Yeah, even the most open games have to force you to do something you don't wanna do at some point.  Like in Mass Effect 2, Miranda's all "Everyone's in the shuttle, we'll all leave the Normandy together." there's no option to say "That's an incredibly dangerous idea, how about I'll take two of you with me and everyone else will stay on the ship while Joker and EDI are running unknown Reaper tech, that way if, and I know this is a longshot, the Collectors find the ship and board it, you know, the crew can be protected".

We don't talk about Miranda's Wisdom score, just like we don't talk about her Biotic ability. Seriously. Did anyone actually put her in charge of maintaining the barrier in the suicide mission? Jack and Samara/Morinth all the way...

Vasir would've rid the world of that stupid little ninja elf.

I put her in charge in one of my playthroughs, and she was loyal and everything.  She literally failed Thane to death.

Vasir fit into the game really well. Kai, on the other hand, felt forced and out of place.

What this is the future with crazy technology? I know, lets have a cyborg super ninja with a KATANA!

And she was more than one liners

I would have preferred fighting an indoctrinated and augmented Vasir in ME3, that would have been quite something. But she was already powerful in Shadow Broker, I'm pretty sure she would have won against Kai Leng easily enough, although Kai Leng would have at least taunted her a few times.

The only reason Leng beat Shephard on Thessia during my last playthrough was due to that last little bit of his shields that wouldn't go down no matter how many times I punched him - until I eventually just had to give it up and back off to let the cutscene play out. It was an irritating fight.

So, if Leng happens to have an 'awesome' cutscene cued up and ready to go, then I suppose Tela just doesn't stand a chance.

I had a good laugh over his e-mail. I wanted to reply and say "you'd think I was the one who got my ass kicked and ran away crying for my mommy despite having a gunship for backup."

Vasir would merely laugh at Leng and then wipe out his entire bloodline by going back in time to a certain Roman bathhouse and putting the goat out of harm's way.

Kai Leng was more satisfying to kill.

Deception and Mass Effect 3 has turned kai leng into a cereal eating joke. That is why noone can take him seriously. Thus, everyone jumps on the vasir bandwagon.

Kai Leng was a badass in Retribution. But, like many other things, the bastardized ME3 version was a disappointment.

it would have been so cool if vasir survived LotSB and was with cerberus in the 3rd game.

Kai Leng; his death led to a great one liner, Vasir died trying to make you out to be a hypocrite even though the two situations were not comparable; you allied with Cerberus to stop the Collector's, Vasir put herself in debt to the Shadow Broker via his information, when everyone knows the Broker ultimately makes sure nobody gets ahead using his information, and to pay off that debt she killed plenty of innocent people and betrayed what her job was about. Yes I'm still pissed I coudn't tell Vasir off and let the last thing she heard be about how she was a hypocrite and nothing at all like Shepard.

Actually Miranda does maintain the barrier, which was the mission. She just doesn't produce the shockwave that scrambles the Collectors like loyal Samara and Jack. Besides, if the person that gets taken wasn't lagging behind to get in extra shots on the Collectors, everything would have been fine.

The best part of the final fight against him is that Shepard pretty much says that straight to his face, and all he can say is "Shut up!" It really makes it clear that underneath his boasts and arrogance he's just a punk out of his league.

Vasir really showed in LotSB what Kai Leng was SUPPOSED to have. In the books, Kai Leng is cunning and master of disguise and diversion. Kai Leng was like Vasir in that he tricked people into thinking he was the good guy and was much more stealthy in his killing, rather than boastful. Drew Karpyshyn (the original ME writer) created Kai Leng, but I believe Mac Walters handled him very poorly in ME3.

Vasir...She was a powerful person even when injured... Which she was when Shep fought her. Kai Lang barley could take down a terminally ill drell.

hahaha this is a good comparison.. But it really is Vasir anyday... Leng is just an assassin, nothing more.

Loved everything about Vasir, she overtook Shiala as my 2nd favourite asari. Who has number 1 I wonder...Image IPB

That's because Kai Leng wasn't meant to be an tough-as-nails, heavily armored vanguard like Vasir.  He was supposed to be powerful because of his stealth and cunning, like real historical ninjas .  Anderson owned him in ME: Retribution when he was out in the open, but in disguise and with the element of surprise, he was able to kill a lot of people.  He isn't the type of character who can stand toe-to-toe with someone like Shepard and survive, which is why his "boss battles" in ME3 didn't make a lot of sense to me.

Vasir, Vasir and Vasir.

She was bleeding all over the place when you fought her and she was still harder than Kai Leng. She also doesn't summon gun ship out of nowhere when you beat her.
