Seriously, what was the point of saving the ascension in ME1? In Me1 all it does is "evacuate the council" and all we get to see it do is either run away or failbomb big time and blow up.

ME2 nothing, as far as I remember.

ME3 they go to the trouble of making it a war asset, it gets its own little "zoom" moment in the final cutscene, and then that's it?

We don't even get to see it fire the "main gun that can rip through the barriers on any ship in the alliance"? (ashley: ME1)

Not even ONCE?!

I know there are much bigger things wrong with ME3, and I don't just mean the ending. But still, after the shock of the ending began to subside, this was another thing that I was like...."wow. disappointing"

Anyone else feel the same way? Or maybe I need to do some sort of EMS magic to get a scene where it actually DOES something? ANYTHING?

Literally everything before the ending is useless =p Not to mention the DS only adds, what, 300(?) EMS lol.

Yeah but it can't be just me...I feel like there are at least two major cutscenes involving the fleet we brought to earth that we just....NEVER got to see, period.

It feels like they would have at LEAST showed what happens with all those ships etc. and if nothing else, the Destiny Ascension, which has literally been teased and teased and glimpsed at all along, then at the end..."tada! look we zoomed in on it!"

I mean...really??? That's it???

I always feel bad letting the Council die in ME1. Not because of the Council themselves, but the crew on the Ascension. They're all like 'Yay! The Alliance is here to save us! Wait... they're going straight past us... :( :( :( *dead*'

Actually, I don't think it gets a zoom moment. Aren't those three asari dreadnoughts always there?

But like most everything that happened in ME and ME2, you get a number for it in ME3. Choices!

I do agree that the thing was always useless. Ashley got so excited about it, but it didn't take a single shot in the Citadel battle.

Dumb asari. The thing probably doesn't even have guns. It's probably a giant fishbowl.

Yeah, you're not the only one. I was disappointed when the Destiny Ascension was treated like just another dreadnaught as opposed to the strongest one made.

@devsin It does get a zoom moment. The other asari dreadnoughts are different (basically they are T shaped while the ascension is a +)

Still mostly useless thought, unfortunetly.

Asari ships seem to be made for the sole purpose of looking pretty.

The Destiny Ascnesion is the 2nd greaestt model in my fleet. It looks good right next to the Normandy on my wall, other then that can't really say much. Should have got war assets for my model ships I had to re-find and buy all over again.

I honestly didn't pay too much attention to the fleet scenes. I can't remember which were just cruisers, but I thought there was one movie for everyone (i.e., you could pretend it's the Ascension, but it still shows up even if it got destroyed)?

Bioware was to lazzy to anmiate multiple Pre-rendered space combat scenes that would play depending on your amount of EMS, or fleets you collected, like in the end we only see Alliance an turian ships actively in battle.

Also here's another example of bioware lazzyness, the Turian figthers show all around in Mass Effect 3 are in fact the exactly the same as the Kara, the Turian 'Titanic'' form Donovan Hock's Vault.

Why can't you people accept that this game was fail?

One would think we'd be allowed to see the most important ship of all the non-Reaper races fire it's gun at least once over three games.

But honestly, I can't really get that worked up over it. Bigger fish to fry and all that.

It's not that we can't, it's that we are slowly and ever more painfully coming around to that conclusion based on all the problems, disappointments, and soul crushing let downs that pop up the more we think about the game...not to mention all the lies from the devs before and after the game went gold...

this is just the latest thing that disappointed me in an ever growing list of things that we realize were horribly wrong with the game the more we think about it.

The "zoom" moment in the "Fleets Arrive" scene is not the Destiny Ascension. If you look closely, you'll notice that it doesn't have the top tower. The zoomed ship is just a generic Asari dreadnought.

Who cares about the Ascension!?

What about the Qwib-qwib? What happened to her?

Looks exactly like the one I got, and I only had 3350 EMS.

That's definitely the Ascension, though.

Sorry folks, my mistake. I saved the Ascension in ME1, but I guess I didn't notice when I played throught the ME3 ending. And every vid I've seen of the "Fleets Arrive" has a the generic dreadnought., like this:

So they did make at least one variable cinematic.

But it would've been nice to see something different from the Ascension. Maybe a scene at the end where it's severely damaged and rams Harbinger.

Lol @ the Destiny Ascension. My SSV Normandy SR-2 has a higher war asset score when fully upgraded. Makes me wish I just spaced the council in the first game... If only that scene of humanity rushing in to save the day wasn't so damn amazing though :\\

What is strange is that I vividly recall that I chose to save the people rather than the council in ME1 (to which this very day am hounded my that decision) Wouldn't this means the Destiny's Ascension was gone?
If so, how come it appeared in ME3 again O_o unless it is Mark-II

That aside that cutscene gives me goose bumps. Only wished more time was put into it and more space combat :(
