I've downloaded and installed the Shale DLC along with other mods, but they don't seem to be working.  Strangely, the Blood Dragon armor seems to be working fine, but nothing else is:

- All the files are in My Documents/BioWare/Dragon Age/AddIns but do not work (Aside from the Blood Dragon armor).
- The Shale DLC is in the Installed tab of the DLC view in the main menu.

I don't see any reason why these should not work.  If they don't, I will be insufferable in requesting a refund from BioWare, since I apparently can't use any of their DLC or mods, which were givens when I got the game.  I'm very pleased with the vanilla game so far, but I refuse to be denied these options.

So, you are going to ask for a refund for something that was given for free with your copy of the game?

Their own DLC was not exactly free, and I'm not going to get any other premium DLC if I can't get the free ones to work.  Use your brain.

For the other person; I'm not going to reinstall the game unless my save files remain intact.  Is that possible?

It seems the OP wants money for something he got for free. :bandit:

Dumping stuff in your addins folder is not the correct way to get it to install.

You want to run DAUpdater and install them through that.

Correct, I tried that procedure and it didn't work. I manually installed the DLCs using DAupdater then logged in and presto it authorized all of my DLCs, how hard can it be?

There is nothing in the folders of things I've already installed; the only .zaip file I have (Which the DAUpdater accepts) is on the desktop and I've already installed that to the same folder the Shale DLC is in. Can someone intelligent please respond to this?

By the way, morons: Everything I downloaded is shown as installed under the in-game DLC/Installed Content tab. So, uh, why isn't it working? Seriously, stop asking stupid questions and tell me why this isn't working, even if you insist that it's a game flaw I'll respect you, instead of giving ****** responses that obviously won't work.

Just as a friendly tip, calling people morons doesn't make them want to help you.

No-one here has any obligation to providing support, and no-one here is going to lose any sleep by walking away and leaving your problem unsolved. You might be pissed off and annoyed at this situation (which is understandable), but taking steps to avoid pissing off and annoying the people trying to help you is going to get you a much better resolution to the problem.

I'll give respect to someone who doesn't ask stupid questions.  I've obviously taken the proper steps (as shown by the original/subsequent posts) so my problem doesn't appear to be something obvious.  I just don't want anyone wasting my time by asking if I've used DAUpdater.exe or looked to see if it was installed in-game.  Sorry if I've offended anyone, but apparently my solution isn't so simple.

You'd be surprised how often the solution is something simple that's been overlooked.

But I'll assume you've gone through the correct process for installation, and so now we have to narrow down the failure point.

Do all the mods you've installed show up in the "Installed Content" tab in-game?

What do you mean when you say the Shale DLC is "not working"?

Yes, all of the mods are shown up.

When I say it's not working, I say that the point on the world map where I gate Shale (Which my friend has, in the southwest area) does not appear. Nor does the raven which is supposed to appear in my camp/major cities with the respec mod.

So you've purchased the control rod, and Honnleath does not appear?

This is a known bug with a fairly straightforward workaround - disable the DLC, force load the game, save, re-enable the DLC, and reload.

The beginning Area for Shale is actually west of Lake Calenhad... Not the Southwest... You have to meet a merchant first to unlock THAT area... So do You have the area just Northwest of Redcliffe?

Dear OP have you properly registered it all in the registration part of this website?

At a guess in your arrogance you skipped this simple step and this is why 'nothing is there' it needs to be registered.

I registered both my CD-KEYs, along with my free DLC key.  Any more stupid questions?

Oh yes, insult the people who are trying to help you narrow down your problem.

That'll work wonders. ._.

Btw, if you insult me, good for you, i wont really know because this is the last time i'm going to post in this topic, i was going to try and help you narrow it down, since i had that same problem and i fixed it, but seeing as you're basically insulting everyone who tried to help you in this thread.. nvm.

BUH BYE.

It's worked perfectly fine for me. I've encountered zero problems with the game and DLCs aside from the texture bug with Blood Dragon Armor that's been since resolved.

I might be inclined to look into this problem for you and helping you out if you didn't come off as a total ****** from the very start. I hope the Stone Prisoner never works for you :P

The original Poster has a point. I have the same problem as him and to those people who say why are you asking for money back for something thats free? the normal game was £30, the collecters edition with the extra content Shale etc was £40 which i foolishly purchased. So I would like that extra ten pounds back or the extra content to work.

*stretch* yea OP, shale is a pretty cool character. One of my favorite, in fact. So cool. Too bad you don't have it...

I tried this and it didn't fix the problem but thanks for trying to help.
