There is an article in today's (2nd April) newspaper Reforma in Mexico about the ME3 ending controversy.

Daniel Gonzalez, director of marketing and public relations for EA Latin America, says that they will release no DLC with a different ending. There will be a DLC to better explain the details of the ending, but the ending will remain the same.

Regarding the future of the franchise, he declared that ME3 was the end of Shepard but not the end of the game, and promised that news about more DLC would be forthcoming in two weeks' time.

I don't think that leaves an awful lot of room for interpretation. For anyone who was hoping for a different ending and not a clarification of the dreadful current one, it doesn't look good. :(

EDIT:

Reforma does have an article dated April 2nd on their site (and as a PDF too), but you have to be a subscriber to see it. The title is "Exigen mejor final para Mass Effect 3" or "[They] demand a better ending for Mass Effect 3".

Anyone who's already subscribed to the newspaper but doesn't have an online account can make an account for free. If OP could do this and upload the PDF for us or take screenshots of the article, or something...

I couldn't find my subscription number to get in, but I did take a quick picture:

We should probably wait for information from the people who are actually making said DLC, before we start taking EA's advice.
They're the least trust-worthy source for this right now.

Well then it doesn't look good for them either. They will feel the consequences long after this whole thing is forgotten.

I never wanted them to scrap the ending. I only wanted a continuation, with better conclusion. Or better, continuation through Indoctrination theory.
This isn't particularly bad.

Also, I doubt someone who works at an EA Latin America Branch knows what the America/Canada based Bioware are up to. Anything he might have heard is, at worst, out of date or secondhand.

..I don't want a new ending, so I'm good.

I want a continuation of the current ending.

Um, at least as long as Indoctrination Theory is right ;)

....I'll just wait till they announce something at pax, if they do. In the meantime, I should go.

This.

And 2 weeks time before any announcements when PAX is 3 days away? Real.

Not trustworthy.

Sorry, I haven't got a link. I do have the actual newspaper in my hands. I'll see if I can look it up, but mind you it will be in Spanish.

But you see the bioware people openlly said the plan was clarification not change, people just we hopeful to the point of blindness and ignored that little detail.

if the endings stay the way they are indeed I will think twice before paying for anything that has to do with mass effect. So sad and I didn't get taunted by harby this time around ;-;

I'm not buying a clarification dlc I'll just forget mass effect if they want to justify star child and three preset endings.

If this is accurate than so much the better, I can walk away from ME with a clear conscience. Very much unfortunate (again, if true) but I've been looking for something conclusive like this to make a decision. This potentially could make the upcoming PAX stuff more interesting however, particularly if they go the route of avoiding the subject entirely. April 6th isn't far off.

This doesn't sound good. Please put up a link to the info. I'll try to be patient and wait for the official announcement at PAX but if this turns out to be true, then they've just lost a customer.

That.

Plus, it was posted a bit earlier, I but I doubt Latin America EA knows what the Canada/US Based BW is up to with this. I think BW is waiting to post any information until either PAX or after PAX.

This is old news. Bioware already stated that DLC isn't going to change the ending but be a DLC to "clarify" what the ending meant...... *cough* Indoctrination *cough*
