..I don't want a new ending, so I'm good.

I want a continuation of the current ending.

Um, at least as long as Indoctrination Theory is right ;)

Same here, they don't actually have to change anything, just continue.
The article says there will be no "alternative" end or "no different end", so I'm still hoping.

What I really do NOT want is a DLC that includes a little text that "explains" the starchild and your choices, I want to actually PLAY a DLC that takes place after the ending - or at least dialogue with your squaddies/ LI.

Hudson has said there is no new ending. They are clarifying and explaining the ending to those that didn't understand it.

Everyone understands it. Perhaps Bioware thought they could get away with making the ending nonsensical but unfortunately that didn't work out for them when people started tearing every single aspect of the ending apart.

Current ending is a huge failure, clarification isn't going to save it.

The wind can still blow in all directions. Sure, maybe they won't change the CGI that's played when you reach the ending. But there's still some wiggle room to explain Synthesis, add stuff to the dozens of poly demos included in the final mission, chuck in an extra piece of CGI when you did so-and-so. I dunno... this article doesn't contain adress anything technical, so it doesn't mean a thing. You can interpret this as "we will keep using the existing CGI sequences" and I would be fine with that.

And gaming's equivalent of the Tea Party is still unhappy.

Good.

BioWare could quite easily address all reasonable complaints over the ending with simple clarifications. If they explain why the relays blowing up didn't kill everyone, if they explain how the fleet stranded on Earth managed to exist happily, if they explain the Normandy scene... there is little else for you people to be upset over.

Of course, this is just further evidence that you people want a happier ending.

If it is fake or not: I will not buy any DLC which tries to "explain" that nonsense. I will read about it on spoiler sites and that´s it. I will only buy DLC which gets the endings in line with the setting, plot and story which was there until the last quarter of ME3.

They don't have any real (read: monetary) reason to make a DLC that changes or improves the ending. They made their money from you from buying the game, whether you liked it or not has nothing to do with it.

So depressing.

Lets see how well the tune sounds when Dragon Age 3 comes around and game catches the fallout of this - because their brand loyalty is shot  to all holy hell.

Dragon Dogma and The Witcher 2 are looking mighty good right now.

Their fanbase is just fine, they don't have to worry about anything. The amount of people who "will never buy BW again" are a very small number out of the big fanbase.

Well, most of their "Big" Fanbase are dribbling morons in it for the shootey-booms. So when Mass Effect 4: Return of the Battlefield of Duty 9 comes out in 8 months, there won't be any actual Bioware fans left, just EA fans who just want good 'splosions.

I'm not satisfied with the ending and I actually want to see an ending where the reapers win and utterly destroy everything.

We want an ending that fits with the rest of the game and makes logical sense. The current ending fails on both counts. Of course that is just further evidence some people just don't listen to the arguments being made. Sadly, that seems to include BW.

Pick control, and then you can imagine that Shepard eventually ended up agreeing with the Catalyst (that organics and synthetics cannot exist peacefully) and continued the cycle of exctinctions.

So they'll settle with polishing the turd. I sincerely hope they aren't planning to charge anything for that. A proper fix of the ending is something I'd be willing to pay for, but not for just window dressing.

Oh well, I guess I'll wait and see - and IF this "clarification" is a free DLC, I'll play it in the hopes that they'll somehow manage, against all odds, to make the ending acceptable without scrapping elements of it. If they can't do that, and won't do a more thorough change, I'll not be spending money on any other DLCs for the game either.

Well I'll still hold onto a tiny glimmer of hope until someone with a Bioware tag says true/false, and or PAX.

The amount of anger directed at bioware is quite interesting. As is their response. The statement that any personal attacks and such would be responded to with instant bans does tell that Bioware seems to be taking an odd position where rather than considering fan feedback they are trying to stomp down on it.

There is nothing inherently wrong with the term. Some of us live in more historically progressive societies than the USA.

Way to actually listen BioWare. You let Casey Hudson ****** away the ending with his "artistic integrity," betray the majority of fans, and ruin an entire series in 10min.

Deep down inside I knew they wouldn't listen, it's all PR stunts. Giving away the cupcakes, Dr. Ray's message, introducing us to the writers blogs, etc. At least Patrick Weekes has the nerve to post with honest opinion on the Penny Arcade forums before BioWare made him delete it.

The people have spoken BioWare, we want a better ending. One that doesn't end in critical failure of the mission. Just deliver us a better ending, even if it takes year we'll wait.

The information comming out of Bioware in general doesn't seem very reliable. What of the 16 endings?

It's a game of taking position on an ad hoc basis. So their position on an ending could happen just as well as all the other positions that was abandoned in the past. But I think it will require that is is the only option.

I'm beginning to lose fait in EA/Bioware looking at this objectively. Because there is a business opertunity here in a ending DLC. But they have to do it right - and they need to come out clean about the plans soon. Right now people are just starting to walk off disappointed which is not what you want your customers to be doing in any scenario.

They need to issue a short official statements saying that they have listened and that there will be extra DLC post-game content for purchase. This will add clarification and enhanced options for an even more customized gaming experience in the end scene. Throw in an epilogue and there's a winner. It would not have to be very long and the price pr. content hour would be through the roof. I believe that fans would be forgiving as regards to the time frame. It is the lack of a clear statement that is missing that this point.

Where have you been? The forum's chock-full of uncensored fan 'feedback'. Nothing's been censored. Everything has been reiterated to death.
