Seriously, some tiny article in a publication i never heard of with some info from nobody important and everyone goes bonkers.

Wait 4 days then you'll know for certain.

And this thread perfectly captures the whining and panicky McCarthyism that the forums have dissolved into.

It took people less than a minute to accuse bioware and EA of every crime at once, from ignoring the fans, to being out of touch, to deserving economic punishment. And it took 2 minutes to declare that mass effect was dead, that all DLC was invalid, that nothing about the endings would occur, and that if there would be anything made for DLC, which the fans claimed wouldn't happen ever, that is should be given away for free as part of a reparations package to the traumatized fan base, this probably is the worst part of the anti-ending movement, wanting a product that took time, money, and labor to create for free just cause.

And yet only a handful of people actually were calm and cool headed enough to question where the link to the story was and to try and do more research on this, and they were all ignored.

If you guys want to know what's actually going on to know what your holding the line against, maybe coming out of the forum bubble and not having a confirmation of the negative bias would help.

Well I think this thread shows Bioware what will happen if they do decide to go this route which imo should scare Bioware into taking another route,

Probably right there. just don't take it too far or they'll decide starting over from scratch with a new fanbase and forums would be the better option.

So many people in denial about bad news.

Well, bad news is still news. All it ultimately changes for me is that I'll continue my boycott of EA games.

I am fine with this. DLC that makes the ending more clear (Bonus points if the ending is "tweaked" so some of the glaring errors with it) is all I wanted.

Also: Wasn't there a time where multiplayer was "leaked" by a random news place in africa(?) and didn't people think that was false too?

If it's true it just means ME3 will follow DA2 as far as my computer goes. One day I'll see it's been sitting there unused for 3 months, and then I'll remove it, never to bother downloading it again. *shrug* Shame, really - the series could've been much more.

This thread's descending into unwarranted name-calling pretty quickly.

I still like BioWare games a lot, and I appreciate what they've worked on over the years. I look forward to future games. I just hope those games will have better endings.

If it's true, then it's up to us to tell Bioware that is insufficient.

This seems like bad news for the people wanting alternative endings. But before PAX i try to avoid speculating or panicking. Needless to say, if this news turn out to be true i´ll be disappointed.

Meanwhile still holding the line!

not saying it has to be a/the/any strategy here, but a company, political party (looking from a professional angle) will test grounds in order to conclude on the final communication strategy or a strategy in general. The reaction to the initial statement would be taken into consideration.

I hope they just lost their time feeling and said that because of the April's Fool(this thread was made on 2nd April(?))

That's what Ray said in his letter, and several Twitter tweets, etc. etc.

They are NOT changing the ending, they are 'clarifying'.

Starchild is here to forever remind us of the epic fail.

Bioware has it's Episode I, now with clarity!

Fine with me. Let them try to make the ending sensible. I don't care whether it's through the indoctrination theory or any other explanation (intoxication theory for example). In that case though, I don't want to pay for it.

In life there's two things you can't trust, EA...and South Americans.

First - Mexico is in North America, and second - you're so ignorant you actually think that's funny. Try wikipedia from time to time, it's free.

Not interested in bullcrap clarification. Either fix these terrible endings or I'm divorcing myself from this franchise and the BioWare label.

Honestly I don't care what EA says about the game right now, the job of the publisher is to publish and finance the game, it's the developers job to make the content. We will hear more on Friday it sounds like so just wait untill then for more information.

I really don't see how clarifying can really make that ending satisfying in any way, shape, or form.

I just don't see how "explaining" is going to solve anything. You could explain something broken until the end of time, but it'd still be broken.

Bottom line people, this is 3rd-hand information. Lots of the internet articles I read couldn't even correctly quote Dr. Muzyka's post: you can't take anything from this at all. Just wait a couple days for a real announcement.
