I've been a fan since KOTOR. Amazing game and loved Bioware since I played it.

I can't continue to be a fan if they don't fix the ending. The ending is broke. It went for the cheapest way out with a god child scenario and no conclusion. It was lazy with no passion and I can't support that Bioware anymore.

And you know what, why not a happy ending? What's wrong with wanting to see a character you've invested so much emotionally into be happy. A lot of writers in all medium think the happy ending is too cliche but all these bittersweet endings or sad endings are much more prominent now and have become the cliche.

My thoughts exactly

Kinda sad you know how bioware pretty much destroyed one of the best gameing series ever with space magic and speculations. And no i will never be a fan again unless they release a new ending dlc thats FREE am not paying 15-20 dollars for them to fix there mistake

It all started with a game called Balder's Gate and went from there. I didn't not like the direction they took with DA2 so I never purchased it. I did thoroughly enjoy Mass Effect except for that blasted ME3 ending and that "continue your legend by purchasing DLC" pop out (more like a middle finger popping up). HOnestly the move severly tarnished my loyalty to them. If they address it (Im not talking about rewrite either) I will be extremely cautious and will probably not pre-order games like a I use toand wait until player reviews and make my decision from there.

For me, it's not even a matter of them fixing the ending anymore... My problem is that they've treated a significant number of fans poorly (to say this as kindly as possible) in order to further stroke their own egos.

Fan since BG; bought every PC game they've made at release. I'm pretty sure I'll never purchase their future games at this point. I might buy an ending DLC, but at this point, I'm not even sure I'm interested enough in future of the ME IP to spend time on that either.

And, if they DON'T change the ending, I'll be an even BIGGER fan than I was before.

Became a fan for BioWare when I played Baulder's Gate in 8th or 9th grade at a friend's house. I will still be a fan of theirs, at least I think, if they don't change the ending.... my continued support hinges on a few factors. If the future ME3 dlc makes up for the ending, even if they don't fix it, I'd at least give DA3 a chance... though I'll wait till a few weeks after it is released to make a decision. If DA3 has similar problems as DA2 or ME3 I can't say whether or not I'll continue to support them. At this point I would have to say no, but ME3 dlc might change my mind depending on how it turns out.

Been a fan of Bioware since Baldur's Gate 1 (can't wait for the enhanced edition!) and I have to say my respect for Bioware is fluctuating, their quality is way to varied in their games as of late. And most of it seems to be because they rush their games. DA2 was a good game, but the reuse of enviroments has to be because of them rushing the game, also for me it was almost unplayable until 3 months passed.
Swtor also lacked lots of polish, bad performance and horrible graphics and lots of stuff shown in the trailers was just lies and not present in the game. The next patch seems to rectify some of the issues I had with it so I will probably return. But still, I don't like being lied to.

And now with this whole debacle with the ending and the lies Bioware has pushed on us, I am not sure anymore if I am a real fan of Bioware anymore, they just don't seem to be the same company that made BG1-2, Kotor, Jade Empire etc. Which they probably aren't, but I would think they held the same passion for their games as back then. Since their games show parts of utter gaming bliss, but the quality is just not very consistent anymore.

I was a Bioware fan since KOTOR.

Since SWTOR I had a bad feeling about the company.

Than I played ME3, and I feeled sooo good. Than I watched the endings. [Watched. Not played.]

And I hear a lot of corporate doublespeaking since that.

Bioware can fix this one way - a free ending DLC. My hope is slim about this.

I became a BioWare fane after I played Baldur's Gate. Recently BioWare has started to go down hill. They lost a lot of fans with the disaster that was DA2. They seemed to have redeamed themselves with ME3, that is until they decided to (how do I put it nicely? Phone in? Half-ass?) use that terrible picture for Tali and the outrage that the ending has created. Those things took that "redemption" away from BioWare in the fans eyes and now BioWare is in real trouble. If BioWare doesnt fix the ending I will never buy another BioWare game again and I know Im not alone in my feelings, which leads me to think the following.

BioWare HAS to fix the ending and this is why; BioWare's very existence may hang on them fixing the ending of ME3. Lets say BioWare decides not to do anything about the ending. They release DLC that has nothing to do with the ending and they make no attempt to fix it (I personally dont beleve this, but just hear me out). Now the DLC may or may not sell very well, for the sake of this argument lets say it does ok, not great but not terrible either. Down the road Dragon Age 3 and C&C Generals 2 are released. If, again IF, BioWare decides not to fix the ME3 ending, DA3 and Generals 2 HAVE to be sucessfull and Im talking Mass Effect sucessfull. Which I dont think would be possible due to the fans still being mad over the fact BioWare didnt fix the ME3 ending (and dont tell me that a lot of people wouldnt still be mad at BioWare) the fans would not react well to the new games. If that happens that might as well be the kiss of death to BioWare and EA would probably have no choice but to close BioWare. The best evidence for this right now is the price of EA stock, it was $25.20 on November 24th, and today its worth $16.65. Now Im not saying that the drop is all BioWare's falt, probably 99.9% of it is not BioWare's falt, but all this negative press that BioWare is getting is NOT helping the stock go back up and that alone is a huge problem.

I have played bioware games sense well bg1 and have loved all their games as they have come out. As to if I will continue to buy there games. I think I will, this has only been the first game I have not liked the ending to, but we all have our miss steps so far I have liked all the games they have produced. So lets hope they learn from this and make better games to come.

Haven't we had like 70000000000 threads like these already?

Quite a few people will stop buying EAware games. Quite a few people say they will stop buying EAware games, yet will bend over and take more when the next game comes up. The large majority of EAware customers will just keep right on buying EAware's games.

EAware itself will just continue their arrogant BS and laugh at all the "whiners" who left, because they've demonstrated several times now that they don't give a damn about their oldest fans.

And they will continue to wonder why none of their games will ever sell as good as Dragon Age : Origins anymore.

Plenty of devs out there who don't troll you in the last 20 minutes of their games, people. Stop rewarding this kind of horse-excrement.

Before this disaster with ME3 ending I always believed that BioWare could make good quality RPG games. That dilettante level “ending” destroyed any expectation I had from Bioware, so I am not fan anymore.

Became a bioware fan in 98/99 with the Baldurs Gate games. I had previously played Shattered Steel but it wasn't until the Baldurs Gate games that I came to associate Bioware with the games. Jade Empire is still my favorite action rpg of all time, and I doubt that will ever change.

That being said I am no longer the fan I was before seeing the ending of ME3. In the past I have supported the company in every way imaginable, pre order special editions, every dlc that exists for ME or DA, you name it. In the future this will not be true. I feel betrayed by their actions regarding the ending, not even so much for the ending we got but for their response (or lack of real response) to the situation following in the wake of the ending.

Going forward, I will not buy anything from Bioware or EA in general without paying close attention to peer reviews. I will not pre order, and I will not pay full price. It is not impossible for them to gain my trust again, but it will not be easy or fast. I do not believe that the Bioware we see today is the same Bioware we grew to trust over the years. I believe EA has ruined them, like they ruin everything else they touch.

Blizzard and Valve are the only 2 names left on my trusted developers list...Sad.

I wish I lacked the mental capacity to overlook glaring plot holes and inconsistencies.

Tell me, what is it like?

Jade Empire. I'm already done with DA, there is no way I will by anything DA related. I'm pretty sure I'm done with ME but I would be tempted to buy new games set in the Jade Empire, I would not preorder though and I might not buy it depending on which writers were involved with it. I don't want to play through another trilogy and get sucker punched at the end.

Wow. This is so not an entitlement issue.
  • A developer produces product.
  • People purchase product; they are the developer's customers.
  • TARP's customer service studies show that roughly 4% of these dissatisfied customers will take the time to complain about a bad experience.
  • The developer has over 60k unique responses on a poll on your own social networking site that indicate customer disappointment with a product.
  • If statistics hold, and these've been used as the gold standard for customer service for decades now, this developer is looking at approximately 1.5 million dissatisfied customers.
  • The developer treats said dissatisfied customers as a marginal group, belittling them, ignoring them, and inferring they are acting "entitled".
  • The 2011 Customer Experience Impact Report indicates that 50% of dissatisfied customers will never again purchase from that business if a negative experience goes unaddressed for over 1 week.
  • 50% of 1.5 million equals 750k permanently lost customers... again if the statistics hold.
Now, you may want to act like this is a marginal issue, or an entitlement issue, but if the customer service stats hold true, we're looking at a serious loss of customers.

Started with KOTOR around the year 2009 when it was on sale on Steam. Picked up ME1 when that went on sale and was hooked from that point on. I still consider myself a fan, because I want the company to succeed and make quality games, but in light of this ending, I cannot see myself buying any new products from this company. Unless things turn around drastically and quickly, I cannot justify spending the same amount of money as I have in the past on what will be sub-standard games.

My parents bought me BG2 when I was 10, only got into it when I was 15 and I've been a fan ever since. DA2 shook my faith a bit, but the ME3 endings shattered it. If they don't fix it somehow then I'm not paying them a cent ever again.

I'm not really a fan of any developer, but I've been a fan of Mass Effect since the first game.  Bought it a month or so after it came out.  I'll withhold judgement until more evidence is presented.

Started with KOTOR back in 2004 on PC. It was my favorite RPG up to that point. And then I bought Mass Effect, and then that was my favorite RPG. Mass Effect 2 continued this trend and Mass Effect 3 ended it due to the ending. I will abandon Bioware like I did with Pandemic, my last favorite studio that got gobbled up by EA and started making unfinished games.

Never got past the beginning of KOTOR 2 on xbox due to the bugs and such, perhaps I'll download it for computer and patch it up and whatnot. I hear the story is actually pretty good, it's just that the game is so full of bugs!
