It's amazing how many people can't read. It has been said time and time again that it is SONY'S fault.

Amazing how the only thing some people can respond with is a Copy and Paste .... I expected a response like this from you though, going by previous responses. Maybe next time try reading yourself before responding.

Unlike some, the PS3 users here are not doing a blame game.

Like hell you're (they're) not.  The fact you're spamming up the BSN forums makes it pretty clear you think its Bioware's fault.  Like they're intentionally excluding PS3 users for some reason.

Bioware has stated all they can for now, and that they're working on a fix.  End of discussion.  Pointless to continue whining.

Show me where i am blaming Bioware for this problem. I am looking for a response regardless who is to blame. The fact remains that i bought this game from EA/Bioware, not Sony, so as with everything, where there is silence, support is looked for from the developer / publisher ... et voila , here I am ...

I don't understand, technical difficulty is a reason. you want spacifics? why? you want them to explain the technical problem to you? The fact is, they gave you a reason , you refuse to accept it.

What reason?
That this is a issue on the Sony side?
To go complain to Sony?

From Sony:

"Unfortunately we are not the manufacture of Mass Effect 3 and as much as Bioware and EA say you need to speak with us this is not true. We have no information to provide you regarding the limitations of the PlayStation®3 version of the game if any. I hope you understand my position in this. I apologize you feel you may be getting the run around but I assure you you will need to speak with Electronic Arts and Bioware on the functionality of the game they produced and manufactured."

Actually , No it doesn't , but if i have to touch all those issues i'd be here all ****ing night. Are you telling all those people complaining about those issues that they got what they paid for  as well?

then this, you should complain about, even ask for a refund.

- Are you able to play multiplayer and buy the required equipment packs?

Actually, No I am not, the multiplayer keeps deciding to connect me to people across the pond causing major lag issues, and it's quite greedy with packs by taking credit but not applying the pack content.

2 seperate issues here:
1- lag issues with people in distant countries.  I believe it depends on the time zone.  I once played with Russian guys.  Yes, I had some lag.  But it was like 3:00am here.  I honestly have no answer for you, I can not say how we are connected (first come, first serve basis, maybe?)
2- taking credits but not applying packs happens to all of us.  Some work-around are available that work sometimes, like exiting the lobby, making your purchase, than re-enter the lobby.
3- MP is really, really, buggy and that is a totally valid complaint, and I'd wish Bioware would "step on it" to deliver a bug fixing patch.

When i bought the game through pre order there was loads of talks about an  equal experience across ALL platforms.

You know what that means, right?  It means games are reduced to the lowest common denominator.

PC users like me have to play shorter games (disk space issues on PS3 and Xbox, irrelevant on a PC with 4TB of disk space, so we have 40hrs games with 2-3 DLC instead of 100hrs games with an 50 hrs expansion), games with not so good graphics compared to what my machine can handle (350$ for a top of the line video card).

Screw that "equal experience", I hate it.

But that's just me talking.  I ain't affiliated with Bioware nor EA, just an old PC gamer.

That being said, the multiplayer challenge are not part of the game.  BW says they planned this all along, while some say it's to make us forget the disapointing ending(s).

In any case, it doesn't matter.  The challenges are fun, but they are not necessary.  So far, those who have completed the challenges have exactly one N7 gun more than you, wich they may or may not be able to use, depending on character classes and weight issue.  I know I can't use my N7 shotgun, I have better shotguns already.

All this to say that you're not in a terrible spot as PS3 user.  PC users share much worst fate than that with the full retail product.

You have a right to be angry/disapointed of not being able to join the challenge, but it's between EA and Sony, and nothing any of us can say will change this.  And it's not that big of a deal.  Having the packs won't make you a better MP player, won't make it so you can go from bronze to gold in one week-end.

I seriously doubt that even if they created a two page post explaining exactly what the problem is, any of you would accept it.

Maybe they should try it eh ...

This is what I was talking about... You'll get the same answer from useless EA tech support saying they are not the manufacturer of the Playstration 3 and as such are not responsible for the limitations of your hardware...

It sucks, but you won't get anything more specific than that.

Nope, still want an answer other then Technical Limitation. The reason this conversation always turns into a big deal is because the wrong people are responding.

None are Bioware representatives
Most seem to feel the need to put the blame on PS3/PSN and point to get an xbox / pc instead ...

That fact of the matter remains, PS3 users see no Technical reason for being excluded and are looking for a response from Bioware ... You can call me thick & ignorant all you like, I still am looking for a response from the provider of the product i bought.

As long as it comes from an Bioware representative ... Did you not read through all the posts from the PS3 users? That's all they want, an aknowledgement and communication from Bioware.

An alternative for PS3 users while these events happen would also been nice as suggested several times. At this point in time while others have a blast with events, working together towards a common goal, PS3 users got feck all .. not even a bone to pick from ...

Is this a troll thread? Why don't you understand? When you bought the game there was nothing about it that said guaranteed events. So this idea that you paid for it is irrelevant. Plus your selective hearing has also stopped you from realizing there most likely won't be "the ultimate answer to the ultimate question"

Yeah, they didn't guarantee any events... they also didn't let us know that the PS3 wouldn't be able to participate in these community events, which could have easily swayed people's opinion one way or another as to which system to get it for.  I feel bad for people who own two systems and went with the PS3 for this one.  As it is, I probably would have gotten it for ps3 (over pc) anyway, because thats where my friends are, but I'm still a little pissed we're left out of the events, regardless of who's fault it actually is.

Here is my experience as a former moderator on a gaming company's forum (Paradox, a strategy game developper):
if you want an official response from a company's representative, e-mail or phone official tech support and work your way up the chain by asking for their supervisor when they don't give you the answer you want/need.

As a rule of thumb, gaming companies don't view their forum as... an official thing.  They will communicate to you, but it's a bad medium for you to communicate with them other than generic stuff.  They all see this as a user community first&foremost where members answer each another.

They way it works on a gaming forum is that they have moderators, usually volunteers from the community, sometimes paid employees looking at every thread and forwarding the very important stuff to the appropriate people.  In my case, there were really only 2 people, the system administrator and the lead programmer, but it means only more people with more precise roles.

And the representative of the gaming company are unlikely to answer 10 different threads about the same subject, they will post in one and make it a sticky.

As it so happens, I have checked PS3 support forum, and there is such a sticky thread:
http://social.biowar...434370#10734241

We are already aware of this issue, but thank you for sharing your
thoughts. We know it may seem unfair to you, but we do not intentionally
want to exclude any of our gamers from our events. This does not
somehow resolve or make easier to fix the technical issues involved in
this matter. We have said before that we are looking into the matter and
hopefully will be able to open up our events to ALL platforms in the
future.

And here is Sony's answer:

Hi (Name Removed),

Thank you for contacting us today! My name is
Jon and I am really sorry for the previous answer and that you haven't
been able to take part in this event put on by EA/BioWare. I will will
forward this information and your concerns on to our appropriate
management. We do not have any direct information on why Sony is not
taking part of these events, there is some information that is
proprietary and confidential to PlayStation® and Sony.

I would advise you to stay posted to the Blog and Forum: http://blog.us.playstation.com/http://community.us.playstation.com/

Thank
you so much for your time Norman. We really do appreciate your support
of PlayStation® and if you have any further questions, please respond
back to this email so that I can gladly answer them. Also, you might be
receiving a brief survey and I would appreciate your feedback with
regards to this correspondence. Have a fantastic day!

Your PlayStation® representative,
Jon B.

As a fellow gamer, totally not linked with Bioware, EA or Sony, I am sorry for you.  But posting numerous threads about the same subject is not going to further your cause.  If one of these companies could/would answer you, they would have communicated the exact precise info to all PS3 users via the MP or tech support forum.

Don't expect them to tell you it's about article 23, paragraph 2, subsection d) of PSN's privacy policy.  Don't expect Bioware to tell you something like: "Sony's people are a bunch of arrogant thick headed pricks".  That just won't happen.  I don't know what you're trying to achieve here, they won't reveal this info outside of their respective companies.

I understand your frustration.  I am frustrated about other things to.  In the future, I will not pre-order any game published by EA.  That is how I get my own, very small vengeance.

I suggest you do the same.  Or don't use the PS3, use another device in the future.

There's no info yet. They just announced operation Beachhead for next week end, without going into further details.  We'll know tomorrow possibly.

Its not a "technical issue" in terms of hard ware or soft ware. It is an issue in that Sony will not allow Bioware to collect data client side. This is why they could offer the 25%xp weekend and change the packs as that is changed server side (i.e biowares side) but not offer the Vic/comm packs of other weekends as this needs data to be collect by bioware client side (ie Sony side). Sonys current security policy will not allow this.

It sounds like it's just a compatibility issue between the information sharing on Bioware's end and on Sony's end- from the sound of it, it's something that either company could fix, but that neither company is willing to pool resources into and would rather the other company handle it.

And in the end, the PS3 users suffer for it.

So are you just going to make this generic thread every time there's an operation instea of reading the top sticky?
