I happen to like the soldier helmets. Though I wish the visors looked a little more... glassy. However, I hate the Adept helmet.
As do I. GimpShepard has a private army, it seems. Still, human adept is a pretty good class, even if it requires some risk-taking in Silver/Gold

It'd be nice to have the option of helmet or no helmet. For that matter it'd be nice to be able to pick your own armor pieces. Not sure why they didn't implement that into the multiplayer. Customizable armor pieces with special stats like in SP would be 10,000 times better than the stupid character training cards.
That would result in more lag. EA's servers are barely holding on in event weekends.

Lol, no that's not how it works.
That being said, memory limitations.

It would be a few MBs of data that would be downloaded to everyone for local access.

Considering we're talking about assets that are already present on the local copy for the single player, it would only take a few bytes to send once upon synchronizing and finalizing the lobby - similarly how they already send user-specific configuration with the appaerance options.
If custom faces would be allowed, that's either just sending the facegen-code which is about 28 bytes, or if they brute-force it, the complete headmorph is 32KB.
