As i said in another post, PAX is the last line of defence for me. If they break the line there, ill wash my hands off of Bioware and EA, no more swtor, no more mass effect, nothing.

untill then, i hold the line.

Agree. I hold the line, and still have hope.

Honestly?

I'll likely still end up buying whatever DLC Bioware throws at ME3. ME deserves at least that and a few more replays . Past that though? My view of EA and the company will have significantly changed.

Well, I will regret Bioware's decision for either releasing a crappy ending on top of a crappy ending, or regret that Bioware did nothing to fix the problem at all. Then I will write one last comment to the customer service department that I am not going to be purchacing any future product from Bioware, and tell them why. I will then end my account and go spend my money elsewhere.

I will feel like snapping the discs in two and binning the entire series. But in reality it'll probably sit on my shelf and never touched again or traded away.

The reality is here on in if I ever look at the series I won't remember all the great things in the game. I'll just remember that clusterf at the very end. And even in any playthrough I'll know my character is a doomed one.

It'll be like playing a game with a player who has terminal cancer.

No thanks.

In all this game as art debate, one thing hasn't really come to the fore or argued strongly enough. Games can very well be art, but first and foremost games have to be GAMES first before anything else.

Games that succeed reward the player with a sense of achievement, success or accomplished resolution to be able to call themselves good games.

A game that somehow cheats the participant by rendering any effort in the course of it's playing moot or ultimately irrelevant ceases to be a game of any worthwhile note.

Just my two cents

I'll stick to spending my hard earned on products from the othe producers of fine quality games.

Blizzard, your satire on the appalling ending of ME3 has won you my cash for Diablo 3 !

Well, yes, I was going to buy it anyway .......................

you know.. I thought that too, maybe my attention span is less than yours, but I find myself still manging to enjoy the re-play throughs of ME1/ME2.

I was already avoiding EA games with exception of ME and DA series. After I'll never pre-order a game from any developer (great anouncments this week Square Enux) until I hear solid player reviews.

Well once I know, I won't have to use these forums anymore to whinge about obvious plot-holes and the Generic ABC ending.

This, all leaving the forums and not twittering or facebooking them could have a huge impace. Make them realize their fanbase is disappearing.

I hear Evil Arts is working on an initiative to clone the person happy with the ending, and construct a new fan base.

We wont be missed.

If the ending isn';t fixed Bioware have basically turned a revenue generating IP into a dead IP since no one will bother to buy anything in it.

Sorry, I see no reason to expand a game uiniverse that is doomed to a firey death or starvation.

Ironically I genuinely wasn't planning on getting Diablo 3 because I wasn't all that bothered but on the back of their satire I'm considering buying it. At least they seem to be a company who has at least some connection with their fanbase.

Then I will wash my hands of Bioware forever. They're obviously completely our of touch (if they do nothing). It'll be months till I play ME again if ever.

Then I'll be depressed until July when Tony Hawk HD comes out. A nostalgia high should get me out of this funk

I was fine with the ending as it is, so I'm not going to do anything in particular regardless of what they're announcing at pax.

Unless ofcourse the announcement is that they're going to completely remove the ccurrent ending and replace it with unicorns and rainbows.

Bottom line is that this whole ending issue has hurt Bioware's image/reputation and they know it.

If they are willing to build a good/great reputation over many years and great games only to severely damage it over ten minutes in a game... well then they deserve what they get.

If it's bad news? I guess I'll still by the ending DLC just to see the damage with my own eyes.

... After that? I won't bother with Bioware games anymore, unless I have solid proof that it's a decent game and even then I'd just borrow it from someone rather than waste my money.

I won't buy anything EA or BioWare-related anymore, that's for sure.

As for my Collector's Edition... I don't know what I'll do with it. On one hand I want to return it and vote with currency. On the other hand, it was a gift, and I'd feel really bad returning it or even giving it away...

I'm still holding out for indoctrination theory, or some other retcon. If the Reapers' motivation really is to stop a technological singularity, and the Normandy really is stranded on some shoe-horned Garden of Eden/Adam and Eve reference planet, and Shepard is DEAD, and the Mass Relays are gone and Interstellar travel is no longer possible - then they have retroactively ruined the greatest sci-fi video game series of all time.

That is unforgivable. I play games to be a part of a story, or at least to be told a good one. Video Games are the only story-telling medium that puts the audience directly in the role of the main character. Mass Effect exemplified what video games could do with interactive storytelling. The ending completely destroyed that idea, that HOPE, of what video games could become.

Turning a great RPG into a mediocre shooter, fine. Turning a huge interactive galaxy into a series of corridors, okay I can handle that. Removing any hint of sexuality from one of the few games that treated sex with some degree of maturity, okay that makes me mad but I can live with it. Turning the pinnacle of interactive storytelling into just another "buy more DLC and expansions" screen - that pisses me right the hell off.

I will write them off as another loss to the industry's current climate, and to EA's greed and disastrous demands. I will send them a calm, thought out, well intentioned e-mail letting them know that they've lost a customer, and then I will never give them another penny.
