What will you do if/when the announcement is a disaster?

They were scheduled to be at PAX a long time ago. Probably since before or after the last PAX.

Or perhaps utterly unforgettable as an example of how not to do game endings...DinoSteve wrote...

They better know what's at stake. There are more games out there than I will ever have the time to play.

But I know that I will not purchase any ME3 related DLC or any new instalment of the Mass Effect series. Prequels/paraquels are not worth it, knowing on where it leads and I'm totally not interested by sequels based on this ending, it's not Mass Effect anymore.
I know I will never be able to buy anything from BioWare without some good solid player reviews and a lot of investigation. Which is a shame, really, BioWare had my full trust and hype considering they always developed amazing titles, and I always got what they led me to expect...
Except here. Big time.

If it will be a disaster I will only buy a EA/BW-game with low budget prize AND after very good fan reviews. If ever...
If they change the endings in a satisfaying way, DA3 will be the final landmark. If get's this another disaster, I'm completely finished with EA/Bioware..

Well, I will regret Bioware's decision for either releasing a crappy ending on top of a crappy ending, or regret that Bioware did nothing to fix the problem at all. Then I will write one last comment to the customer service department that I am not going to be purchacing any future product from Bioware, and tell them why. I will then end my account and go spend my money elsewhere.
Second that.
This.

My suggestion for them, be humble. I know you want to 'stand by' your product and defend the team that put it together. This won't make your fans happy. Remember when the PSN got hacked? Remember how angry people were? What did Sony do that E3? They took the opportunity to apologize, and promise to make things right. They did so with honestly and humility. And everyone *loved* them for it.
This is a chance for BioWare. But it isn't "The last chance." This is actually the *first* battle, if you want to use the military analogy again. This is the first chance for BioWare to sit down at the bargaining table and offer us an olive branch. If we aren't satisfied, if they don't offer us what we want, then here's what I will do:
I will continue to boycott any and all things EA and BioWare. I will continue to play other games. I will continue to visit the forums and be a wet blanket about this game and make my opinions known. I will continue to be a part of Holding the Line, and contributing to Full Paragon. I will continue to advocate for gamers against the game publishers.
This isn't the end, folks. This is just the beginning. Our voices carried us this far. Shutting down the dialogue and walking away will *never* get us what we want. We need to stand tall for what we believe in and refuse to accept the system as it is anymore. As consumers, we are a fairly new marketplace. The game publishers have been driving us steadily down a path *they* control: preorders, dlc, multiplayer games.... these are all revenue streams for the publishers that offer us very little in the way of consumer rights and controls.
It's time we took gaming back, and made it *our* hobby again.
Hold the line!

So, what will I do? Not buy another BioWare game again. All of my money will be going to different developers. Two of my favorite game series have already failed me: (Halo, because of Reach; Mass Effect, because of the direction it's been going.) If this announcement is a failure, I will move on and never look back. If it's a success... Well, Mass Effect 3 will probably still be the end for me.
I just don't trust them anymore.

ME3 was to be the zenith of it all, the game that solidified everything for me. See, ME1 was my first RPG so I clumsily chugged through it, I only did side quests by accident. ME2, I did a few side quests and took my time a little more. But with ME3, I went all out, I still didn't do all the side quests, but I did the best I could and made a point to talk to every single person between missions to get the full story.
And it all wound up biting me in the ass.
There was so much potential, not just for ME3 or the story, but for a real, solid sci-fi franchise to rise up and finally take the reins from Star Wars and Trek... a passing of the torch maybe. But that potential was wasted completely.
Shatner said in The Captain's Summit that Gene Roddenberry knew the secret to entertainment. He knew that in the end, people tended to gravitate towards positive things, positive ideas. Trek had this in spades. So did Mass Effect... until that ending tried to get clever.
And now we know. Gene was right. Mass Effect has fallen and was cut short of its full potential.
Whatever, I'll just go buy seasons of DS9 and TOS. Sci-fi fans will always have Trek. Because Paramount's not stupid.

- Day One Dlc
- Tali Photoshop
- Side Missions you have to spy on people to get
- The Space Color God Child Artistic Nonsense
I think Bioware is trying very hard to get rid of the old costumers , well they can live without my money , and i can live without rushed and unfinished "artistic" games.

Actually ME3 is already quoted in a Forbes interview about this : <With "Prometheus" Ridley Scott perfects what "Mass Effect 3" missed>.

but IMHO the only games that gave me similar feelings like in ME 1 and 2 (and in parts ME3) was "The Witcher" Series.
I can recommend this. Especially have an eye on The Witcher 1 - Enhanced Edition. You can buy it at gog.com for about some small bucks and it still looks pretty nice. And it has soo much story and consequences.. I know, it's not well known over the World. But it is every cent worth!!!

I'm a Trekkie (not a crazy one, but a solid one) and I was ready for ME to be my new Trek -- or at least supplement it. I used to call ME "the best Star Trek game ever made." I was excited to think about all the cool stuff I could get: comics, books, shirts, hats, patches etc.
