You do realize that the game has already recieved over 70 perfect scores from many gaming outlets?

Coming from gaming press that doesn't mean anything. Is like EA telling us the game is perfect.

I think you may be misinformed.  I have a friend who works for a gaming outlet site.  Your opinion of how reviews work is simply incorrect.

Yeah and I got a friend too. Just google Jeff Gertsman who got fired from Gamespot for giving Kane and Lynch a bad review and watch this video. He is at giantbomb now

I simply REFUSE to click that link. I REFUSE to let you inform me.

Even if there weren't obvious ties between press and publishers (like the ads, press betas and all that stuff), and even if a couple of gaming sites wouldn't had already admited their "difficult position", or even if they hadn't fired people for not liking AAA games...

Even if that had never happened, any kind of press that rates everything coming from major publishers with an average 8+/10 can't be taken seriously. Is like having all movies released by Paramount, Sony, etc... with an average rate of 8-9/10.

It's just impossible for any kind of industry to release products with so high standard. And is not  happening. Lots of games rated extremely high wouldn't hold a serious analysis.

That video proved nothing.  It's a story on the topic of paid reviews.  It in no way confirms the claim that reviews are paid for, with any evidence.  You seem to be easily swayed by what "people say".  You should really try looking at atcual evidence, or the lack of evidence to help you form a more informed opinion.

Huh?  So, you think that because games from a particuliar publisher etc. are rated consistently high, the reviews must be bogus?  Maybe it simply because the game is good?

If this is your understanding of the meaning or intent of reviews, I'm glad you are not a game reviewer.  Otherwise, we would  be in trouble.

Was it because that source was not reliable enough as IGN,Gamespot, etc ? Try to find reason. It is pointless arguing over these things. User reviews are far more creditable. Oh, and don't tell me they aren't just because they are bombed.

Perhaps it'll be nominated, but no way that it'll "win".
ME3 is a truly excellent game with the ending being one of very few flaws.

go visit IGN and read the thread about "IGN's second opinion" Or something like that.

See, it works both ways.

Yep, it sure does.  That's why I maintain that sales are a better data point.  Everyone has an opinion.

You do know that some employees were giving 10 scores on Metacritic for DA2

From Wikipedia ...

A BioWare employee was caught posing as a consumer on the review site Metacritic. The employee, Chris Hoban, who posted under the name of Avanost gave a score of 10/10 saying "Anything negative you will see about this game is an overreaction of personal preference." A representative for EA responded after much online controversy saying "Of course the people who make the game vote for their own game. That's how it works in the Oscars, that's how it works in the Grammys and why I'm betting that Barack Obama voted for himself in the last election", though it is unclear if Hoban acted on his own behest or on that of the company.

On the hype, misinformation and potentially broken promises I'd say ME3 has a decent chance to get the award. I still like ME3 and I still play it but I can see exactly why this is disappointing to the fans given the PR nightmare BW cooked up.

Well, why don't you compare the sales that they have to what they could have been and then say that they help prove success.

It seems that you continue to post your opinion as if it is fact...(e.g. "user reviews are far more credible..")

I can not communicate effectively with someone who can't see the difference between opinion and supplying evidence to support a claim.

Let's move on. You win.

What they "could have been"?  What are you talking about?  Exactly how mutch is "what they could have been?"  LOL.

Sorry, look...you can always create a number for "what they could have been" in an effort to "prove" that sales are dissapointing.  That's not how it is usually done.  LOL

Remember when BioWare was pushing so hard to have ME3 win "Most Anticipated Game of 2012"? I bloody said then that that award meant nothing to me if ME3 ended up on 2012's Most Disappointing of 2012 list.

BioWare only has themselves to blame and so far ME3 certainly belongs on the most disappointing list. So far.

I don't think that it will "win" the most disappointing game of the year.Yes the ending was highly disappointing, but the rest of the game was an emotional joy ride.

Throughout the whole game I went through stages of happiness, anger, depression among other things. I felt that the conversations between characters were more in depth than the previous games and much more frequent. I actually felt conected to my Shepherd, when it came to the decision between the quarians and geth I shut the game off. I was freaking out, crying and screaming into pillows and wanted SOOOO badly to punch someone in the face. JUST when I was getting seriously depressed I found the way to get both of them and I swear I was bouncing off the walls in joy and excitement.

Throughout the majority of the game, the decisions from the previous games DID matter. You could see it afecting multiple parts in the game in their own little way. It wasn't until the end that it felt like nothing mattered, and I'm not going to let the last 5-10 mins ruin a game for me. Although if they do release a DLC for the REAL ending that would make me feel SOOO much better.

Otherwise, I found it to be a great gaming experince with the minor lacking of a grand finale.

The sales at outlets for games that have been far out earlier are more than what ME3 is selling for now. The quantity of refunds given just adds on to this point.

The point is that EVERY game from a major publisher is rated high, even if it's awful. EA, Activion or Ubisoft are not releasing masterpieces every year. Those ratings are not related to reality. COD: Black Ops can't be rated 9/10 in a review that admits that "is exactly like the last COD, but worst in every aspect", as i've seen. Or DA2 rated 85+/100 while admiting that fails in many aspects. That's just wrong.

The meaning of reviews is to give an accurate vision of the product to consumers, not to create hype or to sell games. A 9+/10 note should mean the game is near perfect in every aspect, and it should be "new" about something. Nowadays any "pretty good" game that reuses an existing formula gets a rating around 8-9/10.

And it's not like those big ads of Electronic Arts and Actvision on the gaming site have nothing to do... or those exclusive previews for a bunch of gaming sites, or being allowed to release the review before the rest...

The point is first week sales doesn't have anything to do with the quality of the game, but with the quality of the advertising campaign.

Considering the scores a lot of these sites have been giving ME3, they'd look like idiots if they then nominated it for most disappointing game of the year.

Significantly more. The sales could have neen much better, they only look good because you have no other figures to really compare it to.

That is the magic of your plan is it not, i can not fully say what they could have been so the sales thing has no solid opposition, believe me there are a lot of people who i know and that i have seen who will not be buying the game, and many who have it and will not get DLC or have returned it. I can only imagine how many people everywhere feel the same way about it as some do and decided not to buy it.

Most disappointing does not mean worst. Disappointment means being majorly let down, to be let down you have to be expecting or experiencing something great first.
